GROOMING SALON- Absolutely terrible service. I brought my dog to get groomed and naturally he was a bit nervous. Nothing out of the ordinary for a groomer to handle. I have brought my dog to other salons as well as other Petsmart Grooming Salons and he's been nothing but an angel. This salon however refused service and turned us away because "unlike other groomers we do a lot of business and we don't have time to deal with this". COMPLETELY unprofessional and I will never go back. In hindsight, I'm glad they turned us away. These people clearly don't know how to handle dogs in the first place. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I tried to get information about their dog training and I could not find an employee willing to help me get started. Nobody said hello as I walked in or asked if I needed anything. When I asked someone for help they told me to wait and then offered another person help after telling em to wait. Then, an employee who was available to give me training information saw my dog and said "ohhh he won't be easy to train anyway". So I guess you didn't want my service? Please don't go here. This is the place where I get my fish, fish food, hamster food, bedding, and hamster, Rhino. It's not too far of a drive but the first time I went there I took the wrong turn even though the gps was right there! It's a relatively big place. I go in from time to time to check out on the animals. The fish look pretty healthy, and the other furry animals look good too. When I first got my hamster he was pretty scared about it but he eventually warmed up. One thing I forgot to check was if there was any scars on my hamster and there's this spot my hamster picks at but I'm not sure what it is. It's not ticks or fleas but the place feels as if it was wounded and it scabbed over. No big deal, I'll take good care of my little hamster now. I usually get the guppies and breed them myself to see what kind of designs their tails would be from crossing two parents'. The service is good. The staff is friendly and they help me whenever I ask a question about the animals or for where something is. read more

Never shop here again. The manager, a middle aged man who said his name was "Brian," was unknowledgeable, rude and mocking. I went in for a return, with a receipt that was only two days old. The manager refused to process the return because it was a cash return for over $100 and he said he didn't have to give returns for that much cash if he didn't want to. I have had good experiences here, but today not so much. Checked the dog in with someone who was not the actual groomer. Was comical how she checked me in without even looking at me or my dog and literally did not listen to one thing I requested. So my two bits of advice are 1.) try and speak with the person doing the grooming at check-in and 2.) don't wast your money for "The Furminator" - just got my dog home and had to brush her for 15 minutes. read more

This has to be one of the better PetSmart I've been to. To start with it looks much larger then other ones. They are very well stock up on all the items I had gone in for and more. Very nice selection on toys on sale. My almost 11 years old dog still thinks he is a puppy, he picked 3 brand new activity toys at a very low price. They also had a great selection of the cat food I've been giving my cats for years. I used to be able to get it at Petco, then they discontinued it. With deciding to visit here today, my kitties are happy for having their favorite food, my dog walked out happy for his new toys and I'm happy for all my savings. One night, my husband and I were *those* customers ... you know, the ones that come in 10 minutes before closing time with 100 million questions. In the process of adopting a dog, we needed to get a dog crate and mat sooner rather than later. We stopped in and the staff were fantastic with answering all our questions rather than trying to shoo us out the door. All in all, we were there for about 20 minutes after closing time. We got a crate, a mat, and various dog toys and we were very pleased. A few days later, I stopped back in to purchase more items for the dog. Once again, the sales staff were really friendly and helped me pick out collars and leashes based on my dog's size. The kept reminding me of the return policy so even though I bought a lot of stuff, half of it went back with no problem. One cool thing is that they can engrave dog tags on the spot for you. Great folks in here. Everyone is very knowledgeable and you can tell that it's not just a job to them...they're all pet lovers. Stock and selection is great. Prices are average. I'd be tempted to give them 5 stars if it weren't for the occasional doggie dookie or yellow puddle in the aisles from an irresponsible owner who didn't clean up after their fur baby. I take my dog to Banfield Pet Hospital and the groomers at Petsmart. Banfield's Wellness plans helps with the 2x a year visits and his dental cleaning which can be really costly without the plan. My dog always comes out with pearly whites and fresh breath. My dog is a fussy little guy so it's nice to have groomers who can deal with him. (I tip more to make up for this!) And, they were very professional. I haven't had any scrapes or cuts on him that I've had with other pet groomers. read more

The service here is hit or miss when shopping for pet fish. Sometimes they'll be waiting there, maybe doing some maintenance on the fish tanks and sometimes you would have to hunt the employees down for help.. Best way to get service is probably go to the front cashier and ask for help. I mainly come here to shop for fish or aquarium needs. They have a decent selection and the price is fair compared to smaller fish shops. I only wish they had better selection on fish since there's not much rare species that they put in stock. Maybe some Jardini's or some red tail catfish or maybe some peacock bass would be nice. read more

Terrible service and no one would even help us to make a purchase, it was like pulling teeth. With customer service like this it makes me wonder why people don't shop in store anymore. My dog had been going to PetSmart grooming since she was a puppy she's now 3. Recently she has been having extreme anxiety before and after grooming which seemed to come out of no where. Never had an issue until recently with the online grooming portal which despite having issues in the past and verbalizing this issue I've been encouraged repeatedly to book online. Today I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment to be told my groomer wasn't in to come back. When I came back I was then told that online booked me in a different location I had never been before at this point it had been over 20 minutes since I stepped into the store. I voiced my concern that this is the fourth time I've had an issue with the online portal and that had I not been told that my groomer wasn't in when I walked in the store rather then no one even looking up when I initially came in and stated her name that her groomer wasn't in yet and had me told the honest truth then that it had been made for another facility I could have made the appointment. I addressed this with the groomers who were extremely rude. I then asked to speak to manager who rather then focusing on taking the responsibility for their part in the error (not looking up, lying and stating my groomer wasn't in) he stated that it's not his or the stores fault the appointment was made else where that they do good business and they fill up fast so that's why they tell to book online even when the customer voices there has been issues. I tried to tell him that I completely understand that but if I had been helped and told when I arrived in the facility 20 minutes ago rather than waiting that time the issue could of been solved. However the manager proceeded to interrupt me raising his voice stating that what he has to say is more important than what I am saying with any thing in attempt to pass the buck and not address the fact I was told the groomer wasn't there 20 minutes not going on a half hour ago. It's not what you say it's how you say it a simple "it slipped my mind sorry we was busy we didn't look up we should of checked the computer" any of that would of been sufficient and acknowledged the frustration. Because it was so important for the manager to make his point and to ignore his staffs actions. I would never allow my dog to set foot in a facility again that they think it's okay to handle situations that simply require a small acknowledgement into a huge situation because of pride. I would never be able to trust the integrity behind closed doors with my dog who can not speak if their is no integrity given in-front of them. Now I am fully not surprised she has been so nervous the last couple times. read more

Just bought a second tarantula here a few months back and he's doing amazing!! Super healthy and he's doing wonderfully. I go in once a week to get crickets for him and everyone is very friendly. I have no problems at this Petsmart ever! read more

They shaved my puppy bald I took my wheaten puppy here for a grooming as I had recieved a coupon via banfield Shortly after dropping him off they called me to say his chin and belly were extremely matted and they would need to go shorter than they anticipated A few hours later they called me to pick him up When we got there he had been shaved bald everything shaved except his tail He had not been bathed as he he still smelled basically they just shaved all his hair off didn't bother to wash him and sent him back I am beyond furious and would never go again read more

Avoid the groomers here. I brought my 5 year old yorkie/shih tzu mix here when we moved to the area. I know exactly what I want done to him down which attachment to use on the razor. When I told them what I wanted they said "that won't take any hair off"...but it actually shaves him very short everywhere else. I told them I wanted it very short. When I come back to get him, there's barely anything taken off. I gave them exact instructions that I've written down from past groomers and they just couldn't do it. I also watched them let a lab puppy jump all over him and even bite him as they waited for me to pay. They didn't do anything to stop it. When we got home I saw him scratching at his ears...i look and he has cuts all over his ears and neck from the razor! My poor little guy was bleeding! He's 5 years old so I've been doing this for awhile and have never been so appauled! read more

I asked them to bath my puppy and trim around the eye as well as brush out the matting. I understand my baby was pretty matted from playing, but I was told that it would take 3-4 hours to " groom " her. When I got a call back about 1 hour and 15 mins later I was so happy to pick her up, but when I got there she looked like a different puppy. It was clear they did much more then trimming around the eyes and they didn't take the time to brush her she just went ahead and shaved her, she's three months and was so sad. This is one of the busiest Pet Smart stores I've been to, and located near the greater Boston area. The quality and service is excellent. They usually have nice goldfish in stock, and one of them that I purchased back in 2012 is still going strong and getting big. If you are into the fancy types, this place occasionally gets in some wonderful goldfish ryukins. They also have nice gerbils which appear to be well taken care of, by the staff. I have bought a pair of male gerbils, and both are very friendly and tame. This gives further evidence that this is a Pet Smart store that you can really trust. This past summer, I went to an adoption event outside of a Petsmart in Manchester, NH and found my 9 week old Jack Russell-Shih Tzu mix. I couldn't take him home that day, but I was so excited about having a puppy of my very own, that I went right in to buy everything a puppy might need. I was SO impressed! So when we brought Ralph home, our first stop on the way back from New Hampshire was the Petsmart in Braintree, to finish his shopping. The store was not quite as large as the Manchester store and did not have quite the same selection, but there was still something about it that I really liked. The staff, again, was very nice (save for one woman who barely acknowledged my existence, even when I asked her a question). One particular staff member named Michaela was really friendly and helpful. We went back about a month later and were perusing the advertisements for training lessons when Michaela appeared. Not only did she remember us, but she recommended a puppy kindergarten class that she was teaching and got us all signed up (we love them, by the way). Being so happy with the store, we decided to switch our vet from VCA to Banfield, which was a decision that we absolutely stand by. I spent 1/2 hr w/ 3 different people, who provided me with widely different advice concerning the proper leash for our dog, and how to put it on (one person insisted her brood needed to wear it upside down for the proper fit; another insisted the co says no to switching it around). Then we asked them how much grooming would be we told them what kind of dog we had they made us wait. Then they came back and said they couldn't give us prices. Hanover Pet Smart looked up the leash I needed and said it didn't exist but at least they checked. Then when we went to grooming to ask about prices they made a list for us. I had an amazing experience yesterday at this location. I walked in with my new dog (adopted him a few hours earlier) and was a bit frazzled with some last minute things I needed to pick up. My dog, Chewie, tried to mark a side wall and the manager could see I was getting a bit overwhelmed. He came right over and said "Don't worry about it. Every dog has done this at one point here". He then went and got me a cart and asked me what I needed help with on my list. I put the dog in the cart and he took me from aisle to aisle giving me his personal recommendations along with the store recommendations. He even took me into the groomers to get recommendations for brushes and shampoos. It was an absolute joy for a stressful situation and I was extremely thrilled with this experience. Not only did he help de-escalate my stress levels, but he also helped to educate me in a compassionate way rather than a know-it-all or rude manner. It made me feel happy to be doing business here and this single experience made a loyal customer out of me. read more

I wanted to share my recent experience with the Petsmart store located in Braintree, Ma. It should be noted I've been a loyal customer of Petsmart for approximately 10 years now. I recently called the store to schedule a grooming appointment to be told my dog in so many words is no longer welcomed due to Amy (former manager) has left the company and she's the only one who could groom my dog. I was taken back by this statement as I was NEVER informed my chihuahua was a threat to the staff. The new manager went on to tell me this was noted in their system and wasn't very apologetic that I was never informed of their allegations. I'm extremely disappointed and rather puzzled as to how or why it took 10 years to be informed of these allegations. It should also be noted Tito's grooming report cards always had positive feedback only noting he wasn't a fan of the nail grinding. As a company Petsmart wants consumers to believe the staff genuinely love pets and our pets are in good care while there. I must say I find this rather hard to believe and who knows what kind of care was my dog was in fact receiving while being groomed. I mean it only makes this sense for me to feel Petsmart may have likely have been mistreating my dog if he was such a threat. How do I know what kind of restraint the groomer may have been using while caring for my dog?? Sincerely, An extremely disappointed/former customer with many concerns/unanswered questions. read more

This is one of two pet stores I go to in order to care for my puppy. The prices are good and they have a wider selection of snacks and food than the other pet store I frequent. There are always plenty of doggies walking around for Ramsey to socialize with and the cashiers are always very nice, especially the woman with the glasses, salt & pepper hair and olive skin. She is very sweet to Ramsey. The only bad experience we've ever had here was with the fish department. My husband wanted to get some fish for the apartment, but never having had fish before, we didn't know much so we had a lot of questions. The young woman working there was very snobby and really turned us off. Otherwise, a great spot for your pet's needs. read more

I have been going to Petsmart for 4 years now. I love Amy, she is so awesome. Recently the salon switched to nail cut/grinding on the week days only. It has been inconvenient, but I try to make it work. My dog needs frequent nail grindings, so I do what I can. The grooming salon hours are until 9:00pm on the weekdays. Imagine going on at 8:30 on a Monday night, in the rain, and finding the salon closed early. Seriously! So I can't go on the weekend and guess you have to hope they are open in the weekdays. I was polite, not out of line, when I returned to the store because I had questions about my receipt and how my order had been ring up. Until you start paying my bills, I'm not taking your word for anything, and when a customer approaches you apologetically for taking up your time, and she ends up having to insist her order be wrung up again, and you behave like you did.....All I can say is I'm surprised your a manager. If I could give this place zero stars I would and here is why .. I stopped by to have my cat groomed, as I was waiting a woman dropped off her dog to be groomed. A really young girl with big hair came out to greet the dog and bring him to the other room to be groomed. The dog clearly was nervous and instead of picking him up she decided to drag him by the collar that was around his neck all the way to the back room. This is insane! And so NOT okay!! If the owner to that dog was still around I would have said something. You hear horror stories about pets coming back from the groomers hurt or with blood shot eyes from clearly being choked. The grooming center is fantastic. All of the girls are so professional and sweet. They always try to accommodate as best they can, even if it is a busy weekend. I took my dog here several times... the last timE I was so angry with the groomer that I refuse to take my pet back to this particular groomer... I watched her from the car brush my dog as if she was brushing a matted beast... My dog was not matted and she said he was nipping her and she had a collor on him... she finally said she could not do him any more... he is 8 lbs and he gets groomed monthly and he was not matted at all... I was reluctant to take my three dogs to Petsmart for grooming, but was I pleasantly surprised! They did a fantastic job on all 3, and one of my dogs is a poodle that has to be cut and shaped. All 3 pups seemed happy, looked great and smelled even better! And the price was extremely reasonable compared to what I am used to paying at smaller, boutique-like groomers. We use these guys to get the dogs nails trimmed. They do a good job but there's always a wait. Personally it would be better if I could book a appt for the service but they don't take appts for nail trimming. And they are always understaffed. read more

As I walked into the grooming section to drop off my dog for her groom/ spa day I was so excited my dog would finally get a good hair cut after waiting 3months because of covid-19 when I opened the door I witness one of the groomers abusing someone's little fur baby, then she played it off as if she was playing around there were three groomers two in the front one in the back they acted to be very nice and caring asked what service did I want for my dog i said the full package bath, hair cut, teeth cleaned, nails cut..... upon picking up my dog first thing I noticed was the hair cut very uneven then when I got in the car I noticed the same little dog scent on her she had not been bathed the never been brushef but I got fully charge for the service, so I called the store on the way home they apologized and offered me to bring her back, I said in a few days but the I noticed my dog scratching and scooting around the floor so I happened to look at skin and noticed some ugly goose bumps looking things on her something she caught in that nasty shop I'll never take my dog there again read more
