DO NOT TAKE UR DOG TO GET GROOMED HERE !!!!! Dropped off my dog to get a bath and to get deshedded . She's medium sized and not fluffy what so ever , she was there for 5 hours we ended up having to go up to the store. Soon as we got there they said she was ready and they lost her pet card and didn't know who she belonged to or what her name was !!! While I was waiting for them to bring her to me they sat on instagram scrolling lol . I have no idea how long my dog was just sitting in a kennel . We called around the three hour mark to simply CHECK on our dog because that's our baby !! A rude older women picked up the phone and reminded us that they will call us when they are done . Seems like prices have gone up on some items, like aquarium supplies and chemicals. Store is fairly clean and employees have always been helpful and pleasant. The store is rarely busy so getting around is easy and checking out doesn't take long. For anyone unfamiliar or with animal hair allergies, they allow pets inside the store. They offer pet grooming services. They often have a small selection of cats or dogs available for adoption, at a cost of course, and some weekends allow local shelters to have pets outside the store for adoption. read more

I used to come here very often but have slowly started going to another local pet store. The store is always clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. The shelves are well stocked with several brands for all kinds of critters. My biggest complaint here is the lack of sales. It seems like nothing is ever on sale, there are no coupons, and the only rewards they have are at the register when you purchase items. You get points for a certain amount of money spent but I think the ultimate savings after you've accumulated a lot of points doesn't add up to much in money saved. Hopefully the company will start doing real sales worth my time and money and I'll start going back more. read more

I'm a regular in PetSmart because I have two of the most adorable cats known to man. I can only vouch for cat related foods, toys, and services, so dog lovers, I apologize. I really enjoy their holiday sales and usually stock up on kitten toys (my cats don't care if the toys are all red and green, just that they rattle). We feed them Authority, which is almost always on sale and seems to be fairly healthy for them. The staff is very friendly. I also really like that they frequently do different food drives for the CAS. It's definitely more expensive than ordering off Amazon, but sometimes you realize you forgot to order cat food and you HAVE to get some ASAP. The store is always clean, and the one time I've seen an animal use the restroom in the store, the staff were extremely diligent in cleaning the mess completely. read more

I really don't know how they stay in business charging so much more than retail stores that carry the same or similar products. But with that said I usually end up at a PetSmart store once in a while. This past weekend our pooper scooper broke and we needed a new one. We had went to several big box stores, but unfortunately we did not find a pooper scooper at any of these stores. So PetSmart seemed like the logical choice to come to. They had two types of pooper scoopers, but they were outrageously priced at $29.99 and $35.99. We didn't buy one, as I just could not bring myself to spend $30 for something that's main job is picking up crap. After leaving here we walked down to Big Lots in the same shopping plaza and we found a pooper scooper there for only $10.00. And because they had a sale it was only $8.00 after getting 20% off. We saved a crap ton on our pooper scooper. read more

Our daughter recently relocated to Savannah with her pets, and we went with her to this location, to pick up some water treatment for her fish, and some supplies for her cat. They did water testing on site, and although the aquatics department was hopping when we arrived, we were assisted in a timely manner. The store manager, Sydney came back to help, when things were becoming frantically busy, and she was extremely helpful. Our youngest daughter wanted to look at the hermit crabs, and was assisted patiently as she poured over the selection and found one she chose to purchase. (If you have ever looked at small animals with young children, you know it takes the patience of a saint to help them...) The store was well stocked, thoughtfully organized, and clean. Again, they were frantically busy, but had enough staff to keep things running smoothly. It looks as though this store would have just about everything you need, for any type of household pet (they even had supplies for praying mantis and stick bug or leaf bug insect pets!). We picked up things for the cat, the fish, the turtle and hermit crabs! The location is convenient, inventory is well stocked, prices are reasonable, and staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. read more

Normally I go to a local shop near me or order food on Amazon but I adopted a new pup from CAS and he needed some essentials before I went home. I had a gift card for PetSmart hanging around so I went there to grab a few items. After not having been to one in a long time, I was impressed with the selection. Especially when it came to food. Obviously the quality food trend has caught on and even places like Walmart are carrying acceptable quality kibble, but PetSmart had aisle after aisle of choices. I picked up a new harness, small crate, new toys, some wet food (he was on a mix of wet and dry at CAS), and some eye wipes. I wasn't thrilled about the high prices, but they gift card helped rationalize the purchase as well as wanting the stuff now instead of waiting for delivery. It's not super convenient for me and the prices were higher than I'd like so I likely won't be a regular, but good to know the quality and selection has increased over the years if I need. read more

Picked up one of the toys that said it was supposed to be ultra durable knowing that my dog goes through toys pretty quick. Brought it home and within the first few minutes it started to rip. Nothing too terrible but I figured it would last longer than a few minutes. I called to ask if I could return it and they said they would accept it this one time, but toys were "made to be destroyed." To which I responded yes, but not within the first ten minutes of playing with them. She kinda got smart with me after that. Didn't really appreciate the tone of the associates voice and the way she talked down to me. I don't know. There was definitely an opportunity for me to be impressed with their customer service but the way I was spoken to really makes me look down on that particular store. read more

The four stars are for Jessica who got our fish for us. Very sweet, and pretty knowledgeable too, I was impressed. The store is clean, but they really don't have much in the way of fish. They have a decent selection i guess, it's just so small. So you're limited to how many per type. It's one of the smallest stores I've seen for fish tanks. But the service here is pretty good so it's worth going in if you live around this area and it's way better than the other pet store nearby. ;) read more

I didn't catch her name but even if you're having a bad day you can't let that affect your performance at work. For years, PetSmart did the grooming for all my dogs. With the exception of one groomer, with an attitude, in West Ashley, they are usually very professional and friendly. West Ashley was my preferred location for convenience and it seemed a little larger. I now have one large dog who does not like the sound of the dryer and tries to leave the grooming salon as soon as we enter. Our last visit to West Ashley was traumatic for both of us. His groomer, a really skilled person, came to work with a hand injury. My dog is over 80 lbs. and I was assured that she would be able to handle him because she was so familiar with him. His visit was over 4 hrs. He was upset when I picked him up and did his business in the middle of the store. He had NEVER done that before. One of the other attendants was rude in her response to my concerns about the events of the day. When I called back for an appointment a month later, they would not answer the phone and hung up on me, when a staff member from the front went to see what was going on. I made an appointment in Rivers Avenue location. I called when I was on my way because I was a little late. I was told that I would have to reschedule because the groomer had an "express" client who was scheduled at the same time as my dog. I was told that my dog would have to wait in the kennel until the "express" dog is serviced, even if I had been on time. The "express" dog was not to be put into a kennel. My dog doesn't like the kennel either. Good bye PetSmart. Relationships count. read more

Your cashiers....who come in contact with each customer....are not wearing masks. That flimsy plexi-glass with the big hole in the center of it does nothing to protect anyone. This only shows that you cannot follow basic guidelines to protect others from the spread of the virus. I for one do not appreciate it. I was uncomfortable in your store and I will not come back unless the cashiers are wearing masks. This shows that you only care about money....not the customer's health. My husband just went to the PetSmart on Rivers and waited over an hour on our dog, who was supposed to be getting a bath. When he got our dog back he was still stinky!! His ears, paws, and body were stinky, he had dead hair all over him that was there from the beginning and he was BONE dry, not even a little bit damp like he usually is after a bath and "blow dry." He just smelled like the perfume that they spray. My husband went back and complained, which isn't like him at all, only to be treated like complete shit by Savannah, the grooming """"manager"""", who was rude as hell from the very beginning, she even hung up on me! I've taken my golden retriever here twice for grooming. Today when I picked him up he had a large abrasion on his nose that wasn't there when I dropped him off. I asked the folks if they knew what had happened and they just stared at me blankly. She said "maybe it's because he was barking." What? I know accidents happen--I have boys and pets. But the lackadaisical attitude toward my dog and my concern is what aggravated me the most. read more

Just used the grooming salon for first time at this location. I loved it!! We had Amanda and she was so patient with my fidgety puppy. I don't usually remember names of the groomers but this one I made a point to look. I think she will be our go-to from here on out. Friendly service. I peeked around the corner after an hour to see how my puppy was doing and caught Amanda sneaking her a puppy kiss on her nose! So sweet! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there was no sitting area to observe from behind the glass and I think prices are kind of steep. Extra for oatmeal bath and $40 groom for a 3 lb dog?? Good thing Gidget only needed a puppy trim for now since she was a little too squirmy for a full cut. First little tip is some one comes in and there dog craps on the floor the first response from management shouldn't be "why don't you take him out side to do that"! For one this is why there are clean up stations in your store for accidents. The staff and management in the rivers ave store are rude nasty and should not be working with people and animals if there going to act like that. I'll only bring my dogs to banfield that it petco here we come! Most of the time the staff have no clue about products that the store carries. People in the west Ashley store are much friendlier and nicer to costumers. read more

Today I experienced excellent customer service! My fur baby is turning 1 tomorrow, and I wanted to purchase a birthday dog treat for him. All of the birthday dog treats were cracked. I brought this to the managers attention; asked if they had any in the back. The manager replied that he didn't think they did, but he would look. Unfortunately, they didn't have anymore in stock. I told him thank you for looking, and I would check out Walmart instead. The manager offered 50% off for the birthday cookie! It's so relieving to know that good customer service still exists. I have lots of issue with making reservations and getting what I asked done by the groomers. They also put other dogs on my account that were not mine and then told me they couldn't remove those animals(this was going on for months) and to call the corporate office, the corporate office wanted me to tell them to do it. Guess when they got it figured out, they wiped my whole account out of the computer with all my dogs records. So I couldn't get my dog groomed even though I booked the appointment a week in advance. (wouldn't be so bad if they would've told all that info at the time instead of waiting till I go to drop off my dog.) They used to have early morning appointments and could also drop off your pet early to make it convenient to get to work, and now with no warning they stopped all of that. Don't think it helped to much though because they couldn't get to work by 7am or by 9am they still run late. read more
