We absolutely love Ziggy's Boarding! We've been bringing our dog Buck here for years, and it's truly the only place we trust to take care of him when we're away. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and clearly love what they do. Buck is about 80lbs, so we always book the Prelium suite, and it's perfect for him. One of the things that means the most to us is how Buck never seems nervous when we drop him off. That peace of mind is everything. When we pick him up, he always looks happy, like he had the best time playing with all his doggy friends. I swear he sleeps like a rock when he gets home--clearly he's had a blast!!! Yes! They do an amazing job on my Maltese puppy. I brought him in first for an introductory appointment and he does great there.

Not good. Receptioist seemed bored and totally indifferent at our arrival. Staff that came out to take our dog back had no interest in interacting with our dog. Forty. minutes after drop off we were called to pick up our injured dog that was left unattended in the bath tub while they went to get a towel. Dog jumped out of tub and was limping. We arrived to pick up dog only to find they hadn't even bothered to dry him. No follow up from anyone to check on him. Total disappointment read more

They are right down the street from our neighborhood and offer all grooming services with another location in the same shopping center that offers boarding. I could not be more thankful for this place. I'm proud our community has a business like this. I rescued a terrified puppy mill dog yesterday that had never been brushed- hair matted down to its skin, malodorous, anxious, completely unsocialized. On neighborhood recommendation, I called Ziggys this morning (on a Sunday) and by chance someone answered. Even though they don't normally work Sundays, they said to please bring the dog in that day and they would groom her for free because they are passionate about animal rescue. They were so patient and kind and spent 3 hours grooming her for FREE in the middle of COVID!! God bless these people. read more

I chose this location because of the convenience of pick-up and drop off. Little did I realize that convenience is not a priority. On my second visit to this groomer my pet was returned to me without notice that she had been cut on her rear leg. When I arrived to pick her up she jumped into my vehicle bleeding profusely on that leg. The groomer, in a nonchalant manner, that it was just a minor cut. No bandages or aide was given to my pet. Luckily my vehicle has leather seats which made for an easy clean up of the blood. I immediately took her to see my Vet for care. The wound was cleaned and antibiotics administered. I was told by the Groomer that I did not have to pay for her services. Rating: 1/2 of a star. read more

Hands down the best nail cutting experience my dog has ever had! They were so kind and gentle to him, we will definitely be back!

My two medium-sized dogs have been going to Ziggy's Dog Parlor for boarding and grooming for several years, after receiving a recommendation from our veterinarian. We highly recommend this place and make the drive, even though it is now not the closest facility to our home. I have one mixed breed dog who is probably some type of collie or shepherd mix. She loves being pampered at Ziggy's and always wags her tail and walks inside the doors willingly. Groomer Lisa does a fantastic job with her. We always order the Furminator Deshedding Shampoo and Solution extra, as it helps with her shedding for a few weeks after her appointment. It has been several weeks since her last appointment and she is still looking great and her white fur is so bright. I also have an English Springer Spaniel who is terrified of being groomed or otherwise being left alone. I drive him all the way from Boone, NC, every ~2 months so that he can be groomed here. He always looks handsome after being groomed, with slick and shiny fur. My 8-year-old niece told me yesterday, "He is so soft. I wish you would get him groomed every week!" When our dogs are boarded over vacation, they have their own luxury suite to relax in (no cages!!!) These rooms have mini sofas and blankets for comfortability and large TV's that literally play a channel dedicated for dog's viewing (Dog TV). I am able to board my two dogs together in the same room, too, so they are not separated. If I have to leave my dog on a vacation, this is the only place I would do it. The only "downside" of Ziggy's Dog Parlor is that they are busy busy busy. You must schedule an appointment for grooming several weeks in advance. Just like with other reoccurring appointments, it is probably best to go ahead and schedule your follow-up for a few months in advance when you are picking up your pet from their appointment. We had (up to the Spring) used Ziggy's for grooming our pets. The last time my wife took our two sweet fur babies there, she was treated rudely and asked to make the next appointment as soon as they were done with the current one. They said it would be 8 weeks. We used them when they were building their business. We always tipped generously, as well. They were so rude this time, that I would never take our dogs there. This groomer sliced off the tip of our dog Bella's tongue on Friday. She had to be rushed to the vet for stitches, and is now on antibiotics and pain medication. This business is still operating and refuses to fire the employee who made the cruel, careless error. Now our sweet, passive 12-year old cockapoo will live the rest of her life with a shorter tongue. During a routine grooming, Bella stuck out her tongue as they were trimming her face. The poor dog would not understand why this happened to her, and our family is distraught. My updated post: I have been beyond disappointed with Ziggy's. It is being so poorly managed, I (and several friends) cannot get an appointment for our fur babies. Left us scrambling for a new groomer! Calls are barely returned or recognized. Months ago they took my boy for nails, but wouldn't extract glands. I went to vet, who did it in less than 5 minutes. Sorry, I even asked! My post from over a year ago: Love! What a great staff! They are so warm and welcoming to humans & our fur-babies. I'm so overly sensitive with my boy, so I'm careful to watch the interaction. And this group truly love what they do day in and day out. My boy absolutely loves it there! I just adopted a rescue. This is my first dog that ever needed grooming. From the first moment Lori was amazing! My baby Gigi is so scared and skittish but Lori was calm and reassuring. Recently took our pup Riley to Ziggys for his first haircut. He is a Gold Retriever. As I said this was our first time bringing him in to a groomer so we did not know what he needed. We thought he would need a full cut, etc, however they instructed us just some dematting behind his ears and a quick trim is all he needed! My senior pup Jake stayed at Ziggy's Dog Parlor for over two weeks in July 2022. Super lucky to get him there to board. They were flexible in accommodating my travel schedule for drop off and getting him back. They welcomed him knowing he was struggling through a number of health challenges including physical limitations and required complex medications. Wonderful welcome when entering Ziggys! Our dogs were made to feel welcome and we appreciated the friendliness. Our lab and older bulldog received baths and nail files. All was done well and dogs appeared happy. I wasn't able to see the boarding as they were full but hope to on the next visit. Only reason not 5 stars was my bulldogs neck was not as clean as expected but I did not address it afterward as only noticed at home. I plan to on the next visit. Do not take your dog here. We've taken our 30 lb dog there to get his nails trimmed and each time they start doing it and then quit. This last time they cut so deep that my dog was bleeding and they just walked away. Terrible service and terrible care of dogs. I was taking my dog to pet smart for grooming and was told she wouldn't sit for a bath and nothing they could do. My dog was just a number to them. We decided to go to Ziggy's and couldn't have been more happy. They put her first and truly cared for her as their own. They had multiple options to keep my dog happy and looking well kept. She was a little difficult they said but the owner personally took care of everything left her clean clipped and happy. They went above and beyond truly caring for our dog. Seriously couldn't be any HAPPIER with my experience here. They were professional, friendly, and very warm with my dog from the very first visit. We stopped by for a tour because I had just moved and was looking to find a groomer to take my dog to. The receptionist really impressed me! She was SO friendly, very knowledgeable, and offered to give me a full tour of the salon. They had music playing and candles lit. It was definitely a great ambiance when you first walked in. I had some concerns for my dog because he has anxiety and it's always hard bringing your pup to a new place, but they made both of us feel right at home! I couldn't have asked to find a better place! I'm VERY happy I found Ziggy's and I will definitely be a return customer for years to come! Kristen, the owner ended up doing Chowder's haircut and she was just great as well. Again, very warm with Chowder, very friendly. She took the time to sit down and talk to me and discuss my concerns before she did the haircut. She did a great job and he looked so happy when I picked him up. You know it's a bad grooming place when your dog is happy to leave, but you know it's a wonderful spot if your dog is happy just hanging out there. I'm positive that when we go back he will be excited! I even enjoyed hanging out there! They've got something real special going on at this salon. It's called heart and passion. I have had my pup groomed twice here. The first time was a good experience. The second was decent with a minor reschedule on their part. The third attempt was missed because of "losing" my appointment. I called 5 weeks ago for an appointment and then I called to confirm my time the day of. The person answering the phone said there wasn't an appointment to be found. The next appointment was another 8 days away. They said they would put me down if someone cancelled. I didn't really feel any real empathy about the "lost" appointment. I don't think I will be returning with my pup. read more

After adopting a rescue dog recently, I didn't know how she'd behave at the groomer. She has a ton of hair. Two, three times a day at the beach creates a mess of hair. Mats, dreadlocks... Got the bath, teeth brushing, and nail clipping done for a FANTASTIC price! Took a tour of their boarding area...WTH...I would be GLAD to spend a night there! I have never experienced such an amazing place for my Fur-babies !!! This staff went above and beyond to make myself and my fur-babies feel at ease when we arrived and while they were there . The staff there will stop and take a break if they feel your pet is nervous and just sit and comfort them and call you to let you know what is going on every step of the grooming process. We have two Standard Poodles and a Labradoodle and they walk in Ziggy's excited and let us walk out with no whining unlike our last place we went to . I have been coming here for years. Normally the staff is super friendly and does great with my anxious dog. I have recommended them to many friends and family in the area. since becoming a customer, I got married and highly recommended Ziggy's to my husband. He called and Mary said only current clients can have grooming services. I called and explained that I am a loyal customer and since getting married have acquired another pet. She denied me saying I was not a "real client" because my dog had only had his nails trimmed previously. So despite being a loyal customer for 2.5 years, because my dog only gets his nails trimmed, I am not considered a client and therefore they can't accept my other dog for grooming. Mary was sarcastic and rude and caused me to feel very unwelcome. It's a shame because I've always had such pleasant experiences with Ziggy's but this interaction was enough for me to absolutely take my business elsewhere and encourage friends and family that I previously referred to do the same. read more
