I'm always able to get a close parking spot or something that's not too far. Usually when I go, there's not a lot of people shopping. With no issues, I'm able to order online and pick up within about 1 hr. The service is always quick. I get in and out. It was quiet when I went inside. There was only one person working the front register. Quickly he was able to ring up the individual at his register before assisting me. I then let him know that I had placed an online order and immediately he was able to retrieve both bags from the shelf. No complaints. read more

#1 Issue: Walked in carrying both med and sm dog because I left their collars for the leash. I genuinely didn't think that was an issue, it's a pet store 8am store isn't open no customers in sight. To open the grooming door I had to sit them down (8am no customers or other dogs around) dogs walked near toys excited like toddlers but I went back to scoop them up. A younger groomer lady wearing glasses comes out to scold me "YOU Can't be just letting them "walk around the store" with no leash, You can't be letting them in the store with no leash, you call us to help ..." She continues repeating herself to scold me. This is not my first rodeo, things happen, I needed help, their were no customers no dogs, no ones safety was in danger with my Frenchie. I however do understand keep pets leashed but examine the situation offer help if my hands are full, use basic customer service. It's the first time I had both my dogs to drop off alone under each arm. #2 Issue I check pricing for my breeds. After examining my smaller dog the price went from $54 to $72 because he doesn't look "as small" as his breed.. he is a Yorkie mix, his weight isn't big his hair is, he is very small under his hair. When the same woman argued that he isn't his breed size of approx 10 pounds, I asked if she had a scale, she answered no. I asked to cancel and another rep chuckled, To be honest I was skeptical last night when confirming my appointment when I heard the clippers and a dog yelp while I was on the phone. Then, I was uncomfortable without their leash but didn't want to drive back hm and miss the appt. Even if you don't agree with customers please do not try to argue with us. Talk to us we are human. At least the Benny, the groomer that was typing remained professional, Although we disagreed on my dogs breed and pricing. But this store gets 1 & no further store runs or business from us. Customer service. Took my 13 yr old shih Tzu for grooming Sara tells me there's a note on her file that she's a fussy aggressive dog and it requires 2 ppl to groom her and that would be an additional $10. 1. We have been going there since she was 6 weeks NEVER have anyone told me there was any problems when grooming her EVER! 2. My dog is so mild manner and chilled and the older she gets the more reserved and chilled she gets. 3. Sara told me if she requires help grooming her she will call me and I can decide if I want her to stop or continue on for the additional $10. I told her you are NOT going to have a problem with her. 4. 4.5 hours later I get a call my pooch will be ready in 20 mins for pick up and that she needed help grooming her because she wouldn't be still so it would be an additional $10 charge. I told her I don't understand ALL dogs move while getting groomed where is your patience? Upon arriving to pick her up I saw the additional $10 and asked for a manager. I explained to the mgr about this note placed on her file I guess from her last appointment and NOBODY mentioned to me of any issues and how mild manner she is I requested to view the video of her being groomed. It appears she expects the dogs to not move at all which is impossible with ANY animal and asked where is her patience. I also explained how she told me if there was a problem she would call me to discuss if I wanted her to discontinue services or move forward for the additional $10. The manager immediately said because she didn't call you I have no problem removing the $10 fee. I told him I still want to see the video . He proceeded with ringing her up ignoring my request to view the video. At this point I knew they were trying to scam me of additional money. I have had my pooch since birth and she is too clam we have tried to get her to be a little feisty over the course of her life and to no avail does she have it in her. She does not bark, chase toys, follow you around the house she is extremely chilled even when we bathe her at home. Of course she walks around the tub like any dog does and when blow drying her she walks around even more but not to the point of having to restrain her or call for help so I'm so confused by this and really want to see the video of her getting groomed. When I was dropping her off a couple of months ago a lady told me not to let them groom her as they butchered her dog but I told her she's been coming here for 13 yrs and move forward with the appointment. Grant it upon picking her up I was not pleased how they cut her she was shaved but I just left without saying anything, her hair is gone there was nothing more that could be done I just knew I would not select that person again. I guess the staff has changed and it's time for me to changed where I take me pooch going forward. People be careful, know your animal and challenge any additional fees seems they have become hard up for funds at this location or have hired some incompetent and inpatient employees recently. I dread coming to this grooming salon, my mood always sours after walking out of there... I haven't been here in years but because my normal Petsmart grooming didn't have the times I needed, I HAD to come here. Though no matter what, they are always rude, seem uninterested and like they just never want to groom dogs. If only my other petsmart had the time I needed and day, I would have gladly went over there instead of here and I would know they would groom them effortlessly instead of 'I'll try' which also is a lack a professionalism, would I say. One word for these groomers.... LIFESAVERS! So I originally had an appointment to get my newly adopted dog groomed at Petco (biggest mistake ever/ location: Redondo Beach). Upon my arrival at the Petco, they treated myself and my dog horribly! I took the initiative to cancel the entire appointment and went else where. I usually go this PetSmart located in Compton for my other dog every year for his birthday and I come in sometimes throughout the year to get him his doggy treats. I just never thought to come here for grooming services. After my tedious and awful experience at Petco, I decided to book a same day appointment for my new puppy. They did have an appointment for 2pm yesterday (Sunday 6/22) so I went ahead and booked it. I decided to call them just to see if they were able to take him in earlier and they said yes, come in by 11:30 am. I was there by 11:25 am lol. The staff were so nice, so kind and friendly. They went through the grooming process with me and let me know what they would recommend as well. They told me they'd call me once he's ready. They took my lil baby and got him together! They called me around 1:20 pm-ish and they said he was ready! He looked so good! And they gave me a my dog's progress report but they reassured me he will do better the more he comes to get groomed. What started off as a rough morning for me turned into a better day! Being a first time dog mom (I know I mentioned my other dog *but he's our family dog*) is kind of hard, but this what I signed up for. My dog is just a bit anxious that's all. The fact that PetSmart took him in with no problem and were eager to help me is what made my heart content. Shoutout to Jacky and the rest of the team that were there for making this happen! I dread going to this store. The professionalism of the staff is lower-level. Actually, there is no professionalism. The employees Madison and Richard should not be working in customer service, period. Past employees have probably ended their employment because of these two and the poorly managed store. They don't have the skills or personality to work with the people or the pubic. They think they are the owners, security, and management. They are more interested in harassing customers than helping them. They obviously don't realize that they are running customers away. I now only come to this store if it's absolutely necessary. I experienced harassment from 2 of their employees (Madison and Richard) to a customer because her dog was looking at a Guinea pig. I witnessed the entire episode and only saw the dog on its best behavior, just curiously watching the Guinea pig's. I and two others were being assisted in the fish area by Madison, when this black woman walks over to the Guinea pigs, Madison immediately forgot about assisting us and targets this woman by yelling at her in front of the other customers. Talking to her worse than an animal. Madison proceeds to call the front staff on her walkie-talkie reporting that a woman and her dog was bothering the Guinea pigs. (Which was a lie). When time past and no one showed, she left the customers she was assisting to go and get someone to help her harass the customer, who only stayed in the area because of Madison's awful and Karen behavior. A guy named Richard came and perpetrated to be management. He attempted to throw his power into the customers face by saying he could if he wanted, kick her and her dog out the store. Ridiculous and egotistical behavior. The customer and her dog weee calm and didn't deserve this harassment. I was very embarrassed for her. Her dog was well mannered and was treated worse than a stray on the street. Another customer intervened and told Richard that Madison targeted the customer and her dog when she say them. This situation I witnessed bothered me, because you can clearly see this was personal and not professional. This store is poorly managed. The employees think they are more important than the customers. I think it's time to revisit Petco, there prices are cheaper, also. read more

If I could I would leave no starts. I came in the store with my two boys to pick up an order walked around since they like to look at fishes while we are there. My son Adriel turned the corner and there were dogs beds he went to lay on it but I was right behind him and about to tell him those are for dogs papa. When one of the employees starts to scream at my son snapping his fingers " Hey hey it's not a playground get out of there" I peak my head out the lane because she hadn't seen me and I told her "If you have a problem with my son you come to his parents and don't ever scream at my child , he's autistic so 1 he doesn't understand what you are saying & 2 he's not a dog for you to be snapping your fingers at ANYONE" She froze and didn't know what to say because she thought my son was alone. VERY RUDE EMPLOYEE. Went in today with my chihuahua and when I went to the register to buy my items, the cash register woman was VERY RUDE. I asked her a question and her response was," Can you wait I haven't even scanned the items yet." I told her it was just a question and thought there was no reason for her to give that attitude to any customer. SHE IS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN WITH A NAME THAT STARTS WITH A C. Not sure what to make of this, but, I took my cats in for a bath and nail trim. About 15 mins after drop off, I received a call from the groomer who told me they could not be bathed as they had fleas. Isn't that the reason for the bath? Dont all pets have fleas? Love this location except my experience with this years pictures with Santa. I took my pup in to snap a few shots with Santa on their first weekend and it's now been 2 weeks and haven't received my pictures. I called twice and they said to give the system time it would take 24-48 hours ... nothing. I went in since I had to make a few purchases anyway and left my info. Still nothing but was told to come in the second weekend to retake the photos however we were out of town. Took my elderly dog to get groomed and got a call within an hour saying they can't groom her she's too "anxious" (she gotten groomed her whole life ) and was never told she was not able to be groomed. After having her home she has been limping severely on one leg and has not moved much since being home. They hurt her and instead of saying that they blamed her and told us to pick her up. read more

I took my golden retriever to get a grooming and they wouldn't take him because he peed a little when I I dropped him off. Took my German Shepherd to get groomed. Also bought a new brush to take out the fur. Took him back home after the Furminator and man. I was brushing off way to much hair for a dog that just got groomed. I called and the manger said she is sure he was brushed. Told me I can bring him back to be brushed. Just look at the photos and you will see what I am talking about. And that's just 5 min of brushing. Furthermore. This review is specifically for grooming. Of all the groomers, I find that Sabrina and Benny do the most consistently great work. Unfortunately, my dog's grooming has been less impressive with the others. Once or twice I've seen places where she's been nicked by the clippers, and once they didn't trim the fur that grows past her ears, which I don't understand because our grooming preferences are supposedly detailed in her record. One experience really turned me off of seeing anyone other than Benny or Sabrina- my dog was once placed in a kennel with the wrong name after her grooming, so when I came in to pick her up they couldn't find her! I saw them scrambling trying to figure out where she was and no one came to explain to me what was going on until I demanded an explanation. Also, If you have a nervous dog I wouldn't go on the weekends as there are very many dogs with varying levels of friendliness. read more

Initially, I was excited when I heard a new Petsmart was to open - but after two visits, I wasn't impressed and won't be coming back. Nothing about this Petsmart is great. Although the building itself appears very large from the exterior, the set-up inside leaves much to be desired. There just isn't much to look at. My boyfriend and I enjoy browsing the fish and reptile departments, but there were hardly any pets to be seen. The fish tanks were poorly taken care of, with lots of sick fish and significant algae build-up. Just unacceptable. The employees here are also not very friendly. They do not greet you when you walk in the doors, they do not offer to assist you in any way. They all act like you're unimportant and a bother. I'd rather take my business to another Petsmart. read more

So I been my puppy here since she was born to get her a bath and groomed Veronica the grooming department manager always does a great job with my pup. Yesterday I took her to get her groomed and when they told me it's going to cost $107 and $85 with a 15% discount to groomed a 35lbs 1 year old Maltese I was speechless. Stopped here for a few doggy treats. Clean, large store with lots of items for every animal. They even have a grooming area and doggy adoptions. The guy at the counter was very friendly as well. Prices are a bit higher than smaller pet stores. read more
