Extremely misleading - I've booked three grooming appointments, the first two were $26.99, for the third I went online like I had for the previous two and made the exact same appointment I received confirmation with the price $26.99. I dropped my pup off a few hours later my fiancé picked her up and was charged $95, I went back the following day thinking there had to be a mistake. The manager on duty said because my pup is now 6 months she no longer qualifies for that pricing. I wish I would have known that because we would not have kept the appointment. The worst place ever, I did schedule an appointment on the phone with the customer service and everything was fine, the day of the appointment I was called by a rep from the local store tell me that I did not schedule an EXPRESS APPOINTMENT and try to find the way to cancel my appointment and I know the reason because my dog is big, after I did insist to keep my appointment she said ok, I dropped my boy and after couple minutes I was called by a different guy telling me the same excuses that the lady said over the phone before I did even come over, VERY SAD, my DOG IS LIKE MY SON, IF THIS EMPLOYEES DO NOT LOVE OUR KIDS THEY SHOULD NOT BE WORKING THERE. read more

No way will I ever bring my dog here to be groomed again. She is a Shih Poo and they completely shaved her entire body and she looks like a completely different dog. I agreed to her body being cut short but not her head and tail. Both her ears were nicked and bleeding and the shave is uneven, some parts are showing just her skin. Terrible hack job. I've been coming here for a long time. Service had been good with a few hiccups, but the employees seemed overworked and stressed. The management seemed really poor and there were a few times they failed to follow through on a discount promised to me. I didn't care too much though because the groomers were kind and good at their jobs. However, a few months ago they completely changed employees. I don't know if the former groomers justifiably quit, or were fired, but these new people are awful. They literally just don't do their job. I pay almost $100 including tip to groom my dog and it seems like they just give her a basic bath and a trim, they neglect her matted fur and her nails and teeth. It's happened multiple times. I wanted to give them chances to get used to the job, but the issue is i thought they'd care enough to try doing it at least. They don't do anything. I went to this location to get my baby some bones. I got her this big Bone that I always get but at a different location and ever since she ate it she has been having diarrhea like crazy !! Very upsetting !! I will never come back to this location EVER AGAIN . The bone was moldy on the inside once she broke into it. It's worrisome that is well known and you come to get food for your kids thinking it wouldn't harm them in any way. Great service! I walked in and was greeted by a question. Can I help you with anything today. I said yes and the cashier pointed me in the right direction. The cashier notified the man I needed to ask about my situation. So he was ready for me when I walked up. So let's start on the best service I've had in weeks. Jordan is the knowledgeable man in the aquatics department that helped me find what I needed. I came in to find a stand for my 75 gallon fish tank that I had just bought else where for my large turtle. But as I walked into the section I saw a 125 gallon tank and stand ready to go. So I decided to purchase that setup because Jordan had been very helpful in showing me the multiple options available for stands or other tanks as well as the filter systems and bubblers. He helped me through every step all the way to acquiring a scenic background. He was even knowledgeable about the natural dog food that my girlfriend asked about. So from the moment I walked in, till the moment we packed the huge tank and stand in my vehicle, I feel it was the best experience I've ever had in a store from start to finish. Terrible customer service and treatment for my dog. They quoted me $60 for a treatment by the time I got to the register it was almost $100. Which included a full hair cut, flea bath and treatment which they guarantee would work. The fleas did not go away at all so when I called to complain they offer me another free bath. A few weeks later I scheduled the free flea bath which they denied they said there were no notes in the system, even though I talk to the receptionist for at least 10 minutes about my complaint. She didn't offer me 25% off my next service instead. So I called today to schedule a haircut and bath, they said they were no notes in the system about 25% off. They were very rude and would not budge at all, and her attitude was as if I was making up the story. Service has always been bad at this location, I only go there because it's closed but I will never go there again. read more

Stephanie the dog trainer is my HERO! She is so sweet and patient and kind and dedicated and knowledgeable! My dog bowie has some anxieties but we are 5 weeks into our training course and making huge progress! It is all due to Stephanie trying all the different treats, toys, blankets, etc. she recommended the thunder shirt and my bowie dog is feeling confident and comfortable. My family endured the beginner training with Sunny at Petsmart a month or so ago, When my partner signed us up, we were told that Sunny comes across like a drill sargent. WOW, what am understatement. She has yelled at other peoples kids, got mad at me for an answering a question that she asked. She is also very unorganized and spends a lot of time asking my name and my dogs name and confusing the gender of the dog, She forgets handouts. Took my dog in for grooming. Chose this location since it was the only one with same day appointments available. That should have been a warning but I don't have much availability throughout the week and weekends are always booked. My dog got a shower, brush, ear cleaning, nail trim. Well, her ear is cut and has open cuts on the inside. They didn't trim her nails because "she wouldn't let them" (no other groomer has ever had an issue with her, maybe she didn't let them because they hurt her ear). Lastly they claim to have brushed her, but I needed to brush her myself afterwards because there wasn't a difference in lose hair. They estimated the appointment would take 3.5/4hrs and after 2hours they called to go get her and because I used their estimate couldn't make it for an hour. They called back trying to say if I didn't hurry that boarding fees would apply. I could careless about the timing and potential fees, but don't hurt my dog and don't take your pets here. read more

Petsmart rocks! I will continue to come here instead of the Petco in Costa Mesa. This Petsmart has a great variety of everything. I recently made a trip to Petco and had a terrible visit. I came here to find everything I needed, and went back to Petco to return everything I had bought there. This store has a great layout, which makes shopping easier and faster. They also have great customer service, I was asked if I needed help locating anything particular when I first came in. Not like there is anything wrong with Petsmart. In fact, I'd shop here any day over PetCo. The prices are comparable and they have a very good selection a food, toys and treats. I haven't used their groomers, so I really can't judge, but the crew doing work on the animals doesn't seem to be as experienced as true groomer. (You can look right in on their work through the windows.) When we first got our dog, we used this location's trainer. It was the beginner training course and apparently there are higher degree of difficulty classes you can build on. Unfortunately even the beginner course left us unimpressed. It was once a week for an hour, but with such tight quarters and too many animals at once, it posed a major distraction on everyone. I would recommend a professional trainer who solely does animal training. The check out staff is nice but the manager can sometimes come across as a grump. This is almost a year too late of a review My Maltese poodle dog broke his back, as a result he has no use of his back legs. I've taking him here about 5-6 times for grooming. They did a great job. The last time I had him groomed they hand him over to me with an apology they told me they no longer can service him because it's a lot of work-it takes two groomers to groom him! Hello.... I paid extra for it. Are they in the business to help pets or for the money??! This action showed me that they do not care much for your pets..... But if you're looking for some quality help, these people are hopeless. Harsh, I know. HOWEVER They do return fish with the receipt if there's an issue within 2 weeks, no questions asked. They test your water levels for free, unlimited times! They have a decent selection of fish; I've often found that the Lake Forest branch has more selection though. read more

The only thing that I didn't like was that when I received my dog back with lots of clippings In his fur Which got all over my clothes and my car. They should have blown his hair off. I have given this grooming salon so many chances and I finally won't be returning. I don't know how many times I have requested that my dog DOESN'T get a teddy bear face, that she get cut all one length, and even specifying to include the tail as well. They never do any of this. EVER. My husband and I end up having to fix the cut at home ourselves. If you want your dog to look a certain way, I don't think this is the groomer for you. The bath service of this place is the hand of very rude people. I took my German Shepherd for bath and grooming and I asked if I can watch when my dog is taking the bath and Erik the employee in charge told me that I can't and I explain him that I was a little concern because I read some bad reviews on Yelp so I though that it will be a good idea to watch how my dog behave and how your employees do their job. Both of them are very unprofessional and quite stupids, they have no idea about customer service, customer retention or even common sense. I was polite but Erik was very rude and even after I explain him the reasons of my concern he kick me out of the store. Know I can tell that the pervious complains on yelp and 100% real, your place socks, rude employees, arrogant and they don't allow the owners of the dogs to watch how the employees are giving a bath to the dogs for the simple reason that they are not very polite with the dogs, thats the reason they hide behind the door and we can't see what really happens their. At Petsmart I had the worst experience of my life just because I asked a question that make this employee uncomfortable, he should be; because he is the wrong person for this job. I was really impressed! $21 for a puppy trim, bath, nail clipping, and ear cleaning? That's such a good deal. I got Melissa and thank god for that! I told her I was anxious that this was going to take 4 hours and she rushed it in 1.5 hours and Sadie came back looking well groomed. I couldn't be any happier. The reason why I did not give 5 stars is because the second time I took her I had Jenny. It took 4 hours for her to groom my puppy who is 5 pounds and said it took her awhile because she was finishing up grooming a huge dog before Sadie started. I wish she would have told me that and I would have waited with my dog. Sadie's fur was trimmed okay. It was better when Melissa did it. It still seemed too long and she didn't buff her nails after she cut them. When Sadie got home, she threw up. It must have been the stress. Poor pup. read more

So I decided to buy a fish tank for my kids. The fish death count is at 4. 2 Gold fishes and 2 plecos. After reseraching and asking the PS workers my tank is way to small for goldfish and found out they all died of ammonia buildup in the tank. So went back to PS and they suggested on some tiny fishes but then they showed me the tiger barbs.. Awesome fierce looking muggs. So for now I decided to get 2 and get more later on. Okay I wouldn't have bought four huge things of cat treats if they weren't on sale! I called this morning and talked to a female manager. She told me she didn't know why the cat treats weren't showing up for customers and they were having to handle them manually... so how many customers didn't get their discount??? No apology, only you can come in and we'll give you a refund. So now I have to go out of my way to fix their error... great. Plus during this time there is no sanitizing of their carts or sanitizing wipes available. My dogs gives this place five stars! All five of them. Petsmart has the best selections and deals compare to other pet stores. Plus this store is not too far from me. It's next to Trader Joes & Michael's arts & Crafts. I usually stock up on dog snacks & food. Occasionally I would buy bird food for our family finches ( we have tons of bird ) ,family parrot, turtle food for my soft turtle, dog toys and clothes. The groomers are extremely nice and does a great job on my pup. My dog gets the same hair cut ( shaved everything including tail ) . You walk in with open arms. I love PetSmart. They have some of the most helpful, animal loving staff. They will drop everything to help someone who's unable to find what they're looking for. Without even being asked. All you have to do is look confused and instantly someone will be along to help you. And their grooming department is AWESOME! My dog, Minnie, is a former puppy mill breeder dog, so she's got a lot of little problems, such as fly strike that have made the edge of her ears ragged, and before I adopted her - or really, she adopted me - she had all but 7 of her teeth removed. Melissa is always incredibly good with her. She never comes back with a single nick. I mentioned to her how my mom's skin is so thin Minnie's claws easily cause mom to end up bleeding, so Melissa makes sure Minnie's nails are short and smooth. Not to mention that if you have the PetsPerk card things like food can be way cheaper than at other stores. PetSmart is AWESOME! read more
