This is an updated review... I like to try things multiple times just to make sure that I'm giving everyone a fair shot. So when I got an email about special pricing, I decided this time I would try it again and I'm glad I did. I was very happy with the way my dog looked smelled and the level of CustomerService I received dropping her off and picking her up. I noticed something a little different than before her smell. She smelled good for even longer this time which I was really grateful for I don't know what they used on her but she smelled amazing for a good 7 to 10 days Which is a big deal to me. Her coat was beautiful. Her teeth were cleaned. I've been hesitant about finding a dog groomer because my Roxy girl is a Rottweiler and has only ever been bathed at home, so I wasn't sure how she would act. She loves baths and is basically a big lap dog who doesn't realize her own size or strength. Scentbound was extremely nice and clean, and they took such great care of her. Roxy came out feeling so soft with her nails neatly trimmed. The owner was super sweet and let me know that Roxy did great. I'm so relieved -- and now we're officially monthly members! read more

What a letdown. My two dogs came to scenthound and everything seemed fine. Then came missteps. One rescue we have is eight and overweight. I used to like that they weigh the dogs and let the customer know. After a few visits and a diet for her, my dog came back weighing the same. While she's too large for me to weigh her on her own - and old - I took the results in stride but was more mindful of how much she was eating. Turns out, they weren't weighing her! They just kept the same weight on her chart, which resulted in more dieting. My poor girl. The front desk was always lovely and understanding. They would take pics of your dogs as they were getting groomed; that stopped after the second visit. They would text you when your dog was finished, helpful when you're out running errands. I was satisfied enough to become a subscriber. Things started to go astray; I wasn't scheduled for my next appt., instead the employee didn't know what to do so she read me the email I was going to receive from them about health conditions. She wasn't interested I scheduling me at that time? Not sure. My last visit was like being in the hands of amateurs, rude ones at that. I was getting my dogs in the car and they called wondering where I was, that I was late. I was confused but complied. I showed them the text I received that said 1:45. They called and informed me is my tardiness at 1:00. The front employees weren't interested and told me I booked one dog at 1:00 and the other at 1:15. I wouldn't schedule the dogs 15 minutes apart, never have. "It's on our computer," was all that was offered and the usual "no problem." No, I didn't cause YOU a problem, you caused me one. I didn't want to keep them waiting so I drove a tad faster than I usually do. There was no apology, no recognition that it was their error. Just that it was mine. Running errands, I became aware I hadn't received a text and that I should head over. I did get phone voicemails that said only, " this is (name here) from sunoun." I didn't know what "Sunoun" was so disregarded it. On a hunch, I called SCENTHOUND, and they told me my dogs were ready. This deviated from the regular service by calling as texts are much more clear and expeditious. Came back, there were two customers in the lobby. I've come to expect a log jam but the one person working was cooing and talking to a man for ten minutes. I get you have to make people feel comfortable, but you have to read the room; there was a line. No one was getting helped. I asked the employee if I could talk to her in private. "Sure." She started texting on her phone. When we started talking, she interrupted and rolled her eyes. I've worked with the public, I know how it can be difficult. But if you're falling down on customer service, customers will let you know or not come back. Austin the owner called and told me I made the employee cry and she was a good employee. He wanted to go on and berate me, but I simply cancelled my membership and future appointments. YIKES. Be prepared, they've become unprofessional, unaware, messy, unorganized, and treat customers like trash. read more

We LOVE Scenthound! Quite literally the best grooming center for any pup. This is gonna be a long one! I had mentioned to a coworker of mine that we were looking for a new groomer and she recommended Scenthound based off of her boyfriend taking his pups here. I looked into it and happy made an appointment. Right off the bat, the energy at the front desk is so incredibly welcoming and warm. I am a helicopter dog mom and overall don't trust anyone to leave my dog alone with. I was extremely honest about my concerns with leaving her for her groom, how poor our experiences have been with other groomers, how cautious we are about choosing the right people to groom our girl, and ultimately hung out in the parking lot. ALL of my concerns went out the window 15 minutes after dropping her off. They went ahead and sent me photos of our girl getting her bath! I didn't even ask (because I thought it would be too much) but they still went out of their way to help us feel relaxed and safe having her there. Every time we have walked in, they've happily greeted her and welcomed us with open arms. She always comes in looking so clean and beautiful. The rating scale on how she did/her wellbeing was spectacular and overall what sold us. They make great recommendations and they show just how much they care and love on your pup. They remember all of her quirks (her one floppy ear is such a big hit!) and are always excited to see her, we feel so comfortable dropping her off and I actually feel relaxed enough to go grab a bite to eat while we wait. Took my puppy Brewski here for his first professional bath, and we had such a great experience. The space is beautifully put together and the staff was incredible. They walked me through the whole process, suggested helpful treatments, sent text updates during his visit, and even showed me how to keep him smelling good and looking fluffy at home. I took my Saint Bernard here earlier this year and she wasn't so happy about it when we picked her up. We were nearby and tried it again during summer and she was okay with it this time around. In between her visits to Scenthound, she probably had three groomings done professionally and the rest were all at home. She was never thrilled when we picked her up and came home upset with us dropping her off at the groomers. Clearly it's not the staffs being the problem, it's my dog being a whiny baby but a little treat will do the trick to get her back to her happy self. My golden doodle on the other hand is a free spirit, happy-go-lucky gal. She loves being around people so taking her to the groomers was never a problem. The third visit, which was one week since the last one, the Saint Bernard is getting more used to the groomers and nail grinding. She loves it finally. She was happy the rest of the day unlike the past visits to the groomers. So happy that we never gave up coming here after one so-so experience. We got her and her doodle sister the unlimited monthly because it's simply so worth it. It's $80/month for the unlimited and to my husband that's worth it because he doesn't have to break his back every week bathing them. So I decided to check this place out based on Yelp review. I'm so glad that I found Scenthound. They offer unlimited basic hygiene package include bath, teeth brushing, nail grinding, 6-points check up... for $69!!! For those that wondering if your dog comes out wet, I can assure you my pup coat was pretty dry when she came out with the basic hygiene package and she is a Japanese Akita with heavy coat. My puppy Mika is always happy after the bath here. I have been here three times now and I must say they did a great job on my pup each time! The two lady at reception are both awesome. When I walked in my puppy was so scared. The lady came up to her and actually sat on the ground and introduced her for such a long time to make her feel comfortable. My pup seemed relaxed when I picked her up and she looks and smells great. Keep up the good works. Tips: -You can make your appointment ahead of time through their app. Entire process is super easy. -Bring extra towel in case you don't get the blow-dry package. Lisa was mind enough to ask me back to try their services again. They made several changes but esp to the water pressure resulting in cleaner outcome for our husky. During the summer where I can air dry him on the ride home, the monthly membership works for us. Every other month or so, I will add the desheading treatment to get rid of her undercoat for an additional $27. All in all, I am happier with Scenthound and will continue to come back. My sister rescued a dog and they gave us a free grooming card to try Scenthound and we were very pleased at the results, so we signed all the dogs up! We are on a monthly membership which includes one basic grooming. I love this because I can add whatever extras I feel like each month, or not at all! I tried the de shedding treatment on my german shepherd and they did a great job. Plus they give a wellness check and summary or how the dog did at their appointment, which is a bonus. We have been taking our goldendoodle, Indie, here since they opened in November 2022. We are so happy they are in HB! We got the unlimited plan, which is worth it for us! The weekly bath, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and nail trimming has been wonderful! It keeps our pup smelling great, looking clean and healthy! The girls at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The owner is awesome and easygoing. Indie gets so excited when we pull up into the parking lot. She loves it there! The staff is great with her and I can tell they care about her! Indie has gotten a few haircuts there and we are happy with the results! We appreciate the report they give us after each visit, nice to know if there's anything we need to work on at home or to watch out for. During a visit, the groomer noted that Indie's coat is looking a little dull and to keep an eye on what may be causing that. We had switched her food recently...so that makes sense! We switched to badlands ranch after, and she is looking shiny again. We even used their app to chat with a vet twice at no extra cost. We just love Scenthound!!! I came to Scenthound Huntington Beach to take my German Shepard in for one of their grooming packages and I was blown away at how amazing the service was. I want to start off by saying that I am normally used to dropping off my dog and coming back a couple hours later at my other groomers but Scenthound had my dog out in 30 minutes. He had a full grooming, nails clipped, ears & teeth cleaned, glands checked, and a wellness check. The service was great as well. The ladies at the front desk were super nice and after the grooming they explained Scenthound's wellness (S.C.E.N.T.) check where they grade your dogs skin, coat, ears, nails, teeth, and glands. I booked an appointment about a month ago for a grooming for my 2 and a half year old Yorkie, the minute I walked in I was greater by the front end staff, I let them know what services I wanted, then the groomer Megan came out, Tuck was shaking by this time, Megan put the leash on Tuck, but instead of making him walk to the back, she saw that he was shivering and said she would carry him back instead. That might not seem like much to others, but let me tell you, It meant a lot to me, most groomers will just put them on the floor get the leash on and walk them back as they are trying to get back to parent, when that happens I take it as someone who doesn't really care and are just there for the paycheck and tips. So T/Y Megan for giving my baby the extra attention he needed. Now, how did his grooming come out? Take a look for yourself . I showed Megan 3 pictures of how I wanted his cut to look like, and she nailed it she didn't even ask me to send her the photos. I am one happy fur baby parent! My sister and I have taken our three rescue dogs to this location for a few months now. Our experience has been fantastic and we've gotten a membership for all three. The employees are all so kind and patient, and our dogs always get excited when we arrive. We have one very reactive dog and one very anxious dog, and the groomers and front desk staff are always so helpful and ensure a good and successful grooming appointment each month. I see a few reviews mentioning that they return the dogs wet, the dogs are somewhat damp when we receive them back. The groomers still towel dry the dogs so they are able to dry pretty quickly in the car. This works best for our dogs, as our anxious one gets a little mouthy with a blow dryer. Overall, I'm grateful to have found this place and will continue to recommend them to all my fellow dog owners. read more

I took my newly adopted/rescued three year old large husky to Scenthound this week. I am appalled. They seem to be very kind and caring. However, when it was time to take the dog back to be bathed, they pulled out one of those choke leashes. It was tiny, and my dog is big. I told them I do not want that on my dogs neck because it chokes him and can injure his esophagus. He is well behaved, but he is very hyper and strong, that is why we use a harness. So they went ahead and left his Harness on. I notified them that I thought I found a sore or something, maybe a burr, underneath his neck but the fur is so thick. I asked them to see what it was while they were bathing him and take a picture of it because I could not see it with all the thick fur so if I needed to I could take him to the vet. They said no problem. They did not even check because she said there was nothing! It is plainly there! When they brought him out to me, he had the choke leash on. I was upset and asked why when they told me they would leave his harness on and not use the choke leash. Needless to say the entire way home, he was choking and gagging, because it obviously had irritated his esophagus/throat, and they obviously gave him no water. Did they really care about our pets? No, they do not. I will never go back there again and recommend nobody else does either. read more
