I went to Sydnee's Pet Grooming for the first time today to get my 54 pound golden retriever bathed and was quite disappointed in their lack of transparency for pricing. What I expected to be a $80-90 trip ended up turning into ~$150. When you go to Sydnee's booking portal online, a large dog bath is quoted to be starting at $75 for a dog within the range of 51-75 pounds. However, upon completion they charged me $100 for the bath. This would fall into the XL dog range, which did not make sense to me at all. I called the shop back to clarify why there was a such a huge discrepancy in price and they answered that my dog's coat is extra thick so they charge more for labor, which was never mentioned on the website. Also, I will post a picture of my golden for you guys to determine if her coat is "extra thick" or not. I think not. I also got a de-shedding treatment for my pup which was quoted to be $15. However, I was charged an extra $15 because of the "extra time"it took to do the de-shedding treatment. The bath time window they give online is 3 hours. I dropped my dog off at 11:55 and picked her up at 3:20 (they called me at 3:04 for pickup). What extra time is there? We were in the allotted time window for the bath and the lady on the phone even said that they started on my dog late so it should have taken even LESS time. At the end of the day, it's only a bit of a difference in price so I didn't give them a hard time, but I wish I had known about the extra fees that they hide in the bill. Just be wary of coming here because they will try to sneak things in! The work they do is average but the price is roughly DOUBLE. P.S. they had the audacity to show me a tip screen after I paid, which added another ~$15 on top of my bill. read more

We called Monday to confirm they took walk in appointments for nail trim only. On the phone they said, "Yes, bring your dog anytime after 10. No appointment needed." On Wednesday I called at 2:30 out of courtesy and asked if I could bring my dog in for a nail trim in about 45 minutes. On the phone, they said, "Yes, 45 minutes is perfect. I will let the groomer know!" When I arrived, there was no one to greet me so I rang the bell and whoever was grooming the dogs in the back yelled out at me that she knew I was there. She asked if I had an appointment and I told her about my phone conversation. The groomer (without even greeting me in person) yelled again from the back that she would not be able to give my dog a nail trim, she had too much to do, and it would not happen today. I left knowing I would never visit this business again. If someone would treat a customer in that way, how would they be treating the dogs? No thank you. read more

I have been here starting in May of 2025. Been coming back ever since. Not only does the cut and style come out flawless, the charge for the grooming services was and is reasonably priced. I called Sydnee's Pet Grooming for pricing and availability. I was quoted a very reasonable price especially for a Maltipoo which typically costs me quite a bit more. She was able to squeeze me same day. The parking and location was very convenient for me. When we walked in, the lobby was clean and I was greeted pretty quickly. Through the screen door, I could see two of the cutest dogs. One was a Great Pyrenees and the other a Pomeranian. Both were beautifully groomed and were friendly observing us from the other side. I explained what I was wanting and told that my dog would be ready in three hours. Sure enough, he was ready when they said he was and he looked so cute! They gave him the cutest little bow tie as well. He typically is barking to leave a groomers and would look anxious but he didn't behave that way at all and seemed comfortable there. They took care of the mats he had behind his ears and were able to save them. He likes to get matted behind them despite our brushing them. I'm very happy with Sydnee's and recommend this business. I will be bringing my other dog as well. Also, careful about believing negative reviews. Yelp tries to get businesses to pay for a membership and when they don't, they hire people to leave negative reviews. Once a negative review is left, if a business signs up for the membership, they will hide the negative reviews. It can be a scam. I really try to only leave positive reviews. Not a bad word about the staff, all very kind and helpful! But I was a bit disappointed by this place. I called early to get a quote and I told them my dogs weight, breed, and coat type. They said $75-$115. When I got there they said $140 (I brushed her before hand so no matting!)... I paid and what I got for it wasn't great. They didn't trim my dogs beard short (which I specified to do). And she had random patches that were kind of long. Especially around her eyes! I basically had to go over everything when I got home myself. For $140 I would at least expect a little bow or something. Not worth the price point in my opinion. Gave our dog for a bath & brush yesterday. Both over the phone and in person we told the receptionist that we only need a bath and brush not deshedding. We come back to pick up our dog and the receptionist asks us to pay for both bath&brush and deshedding. We explain we told her that's not what we asked for and she starred blank. No "I'm sorry" or any attempt to fix the situation. We say whatever, let's just pay for it all and get it over it. She brings our dog out without the leash when the store door is fully open. We jump to close the door so our dog doesn't escape. She hands us the leash, no eye contact, and sits behind her computer and ignores us. At this point, we have paid what we didn't ask for, our dog could have ran out, and we are getting attitude. We asked her name. She says there is no reason to give it to us. We ask for the manager's contact info but she refuses to give that too. We took a picture of her so the manager and future customers know who this disaster receptionist is. How unfortunate because we really liked coming here and referred few friends to come here as well. Mistakes happen just don't be rude about it. read more

They don't just give him a clean bath, but also cleaned his ears, teeth, and buffed his nails. Took my cat in for a bath and brush and flea treatment. First of all, two of her paws were bloody. They don't use specific flea shampoo for cats, they use aroma care CITRUS shampoo for dogs and puppies. This shampoo includes lemon grass, peppermint oil, clove oil and citronella which are all HIGHLY poisonous for cats. Citrus should not be near cats and would be ingested when she goes to groom herself. I even called the shampoo company myself and they do not recommend this product for cats at all. Products for dogs should NEVER be used for cats. My refund was denied and I got a $10 coupon, how wonderful. Please be wary before taking your cat here, it seems that they don't do a basic look into what is ok to bath your cat in. I have proof of everything, so if the business tries to denies this with a reply, we have proof of everything. The way everything was handled was very poorly and staff could not care less about putting toxic products on my cat. Update: The owner's response is basically saying im overreacting, when im not, if you google all of these oils for cats, they can cause things like respiratory issues and other serious health problems. I expected a full refund since this place does not let you book a flea treatment without a bath and brush. I used to love bringing my cat here, i even recommended it to 3 of my friends who were regulars like me, but now, we will all stop going here. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. My dog is my family. I would never take her anywhere where she wasn't treated with kindness and goodness. I thought this was that place- until yesterday. I have been a loyal customer for years. I live in NB and happily went to that location until it closed. I now go to the Irvine location as that is where our groomer and all NB staff moved. I had an appointment for my sweet, loving 6.5lb maltipoo yesterday. Here is everything that went wrong. 1. Our appointment was at 9am. I arrived right at 9am to a completely dark, locked business. I looked inside, thought something was wrong. Tried to call the business line (no answer of course) and waited 5 min until someone (I now know her name but won't repeat it here bc this is a public forum) walked up and opened the door. She did not apologize for being late and barely looked at my dog or me and just opened the door. 2. This new person is now the receptionist (and may have other responsibilities) but I was alarmed bc she showed very little interest in my dog. The previous receptionist was fantastic. I told this new person that my little girl was nervous (she was shaking) but that she is the sweetest girl and only wanted to be held and comforted. Again, she barely acknowledged my sweet girl. I also asked about the new groomer and if I could meet her and was told she was not "in yet" (where was she? My first mistake- but I was told my previous groomer recommended this new person so I mistakenly thought it would be fine). I handed my sweet girl over to the new receptionist and she gave no care, concern or even acknowledgment of my sweet one's nerves. I left feeling concerned on several fronts. Should've listened but again, was trusting of previous groomer's endorsement 3. Before I left, I shared w/ the new receptionist that for the last 2 visits, I did not receive the texts that my girl was ready to be picked up. The new receptionist assured me she would call me instead of text when my sweet one was ready. I even re-wrote by hand my cell phone number so she would have it (even though it was in the system) 4. After 3 hours (which is not odd- they often run behind), I got a text that my girl was ready. I was annoyed bc I specifically asked to be called to ensure I got the message but I made my way there nonetheless (I guess I was grateful that I did get the text this time) 5. I arrive and I am immediately upset. I see 2 littles dogs (~10 lbs each I'm guessing) running around while my girl is in a pen- locked up. I literally say out loud to the groomer who is working on a dog- please get my dog out of there. The groomer (turns out to be our new one), with no sense of urgency, keeps grooming the dog on the table until I say again, "please get her out of that pen. Now". - Here is why this is upsetting. I have come to this business for years bc of their goodness to my dog. They literally checked vaccination records to ensure that after my dog is groomed and/or while she is waiting, she can be free to run around the business and play with the other dogs while she waits. When I asked why they would let the 2 other dogs roam free and play together while my girl was locked in a pen, the new groomer literally told me, "it's not safe". I asked what was not safe and she implied my dog (my 6.5lb, sweet, fully vaccinated maltipoo). She then said the 2 other dogs were hers & only they were allowed to roam free. They have a new policy that all other dogs are placed in locked pens or crates. I was very upset and said if the policy changed, they should have contacted me. I didn't want my dog crated or penned without my consent. She literally just kept telling me those were her 2 dogs and they enjoyed priviledges my dog did not. 6. the woman saying all this to me is my new groomer. She literally did not introduce herself. Gave no kind words about my dog. I did introduce myself and said I had wanted to meet her during our appointment at 9am and asked why she wasn't there. She told me she doesn't start until 10am. I asked, did she literally have my dog there 1 hour before she, the groomer, even arrived and also did they have my dog in a crate the entire time w/out my knowledge? She said yes. 7. At this point the receptionist comes back out. I address the time issue- why were we scheduled for 9am when the groomer did not arrive until 10am? Her answer "I didn't make the schedule. It's not my fault. I don't know what to tell you." 8. I asked the receptionist why I was not called when my dog was ready when I requested that after she agreed that she would call me, she said, "I have other responsibilities." 9. When I asked why my dog was put in a pen when that has never been the policy and that was never discussed with me she said, "We have crates in the back. You're lucky she was not put there." 10. At this point we were done This business does not respect customers. More importantly, they do not respect dogs. I will never go back read more

Today, is my 2nd time I bringing my pet for complete grooming and de matting. I like the way Cloris, the Groomer made my pet get acclimated to her and the surroundings before she started the process. In about an hour and a half, I got a call to pick up my pet. I was extremely happy with the result of the styling and grooming. Cloris did exactly what I requested her to do. I did not see any scratches on my pet unlike what my pet had experienced from the other grooming place. My pet will always be a repeat customer. I highly recommend this place. If I could absolutely give this place ZERO stars I would. My girlfriend and I usually take our labradoodle to the location in Huntington. They had rescheduled our appointment to here because the groomer at Huntington wasn't available and we wanted a cut sooner than later. I dropped off my pup and told them what my requests were. Later on my girlfriend got a call that our pup was matted and needed to be shaven down. This has never been okay or will ever be okay. We had a fluffy dog and got handed back a completely different looking dog. They didn't even give us a chance to put a hard stop on shaving her they just called and said " the groomer has to shave her we are sorry that it's frustrating ". Upon pickup the groomer out of his own mouth said " if I were to have conditioned her instead of shaving her she would have been here for hours "... I WOULD HAVE RATHER WAITED THE TIME then had this outcome. My girlfriend then called and wanted a refund or some type of accommodation and was told by some snot on the phone " it's not like we woke up and wanted to shave your dog" how unprofessional is that? This place is horrible will not give a damn if you want or don't want something and will have an attitude when you are dissatisfied with the outcome. I have been coming here for awhile... the haircuts by Cloris are phenomenal, the bather and receptionist Skyler is the sweetest girl i've ever met. I finally feel like I have found a groomer that makes me and my dog feel comfortable. My dog gets excited to see Skyler every time she greats us. The only issue with Sydnees, i will say the owner Harold is greedy and rude, as you can tell from his responses to clients and the increase in price very suddenly for the same services! The next day I bring him in she takes him no one told me that apparently there was no appt because I didn't put a deposit down for a couple missed appts I was not told I was supposed to put s deposit down or else I would have no problem. I dropped him off and it was for a bath and trim face he was there for 5 hours past closing it was 530pm I walk in to see what's going on and the lady is yelling at a dog she is grooming on a table and my dog is wet gated in a corner he had knots and wasn't brush or fully dried. When i get there she said I wasn't on the schedule when I had a confirmed appointment and when i walked in to drop him off if he wasn't on schedule if she would've told me that I would not have left him I would have rescheduled .I said I would come in once I was done moving and not sick anymore. This person was very unreasonable and rude. But I'm sorry I have a busy life I can't just jump when you snap your fingers for YOUR employees mistakes. I wouldn't recommend this place .
