Tuffy loves to come here and pee on the floor. No one gets mad at him. The employees seem to be very understanding. He gets nervous sometimes and thats when he looses control over himself. I love PetSmart's service and employees and just everything about it! As a new dog owner, I wanted to sign my puppy up for training classes. The manager was really nice and spent at least 20 mins listening to my dog's behavioral problems and figuring out which class to sign up for and how the instructor could help me. Another time I was at PetSmart, I was looking for a leash for my dog. About three employees helped me out and explained to me which leash was better. This is my go-to PetSmart branch just because it's the closest one to me. The parking is always good and the store is never really crowded. There are times when a bunch of people are trying to pay and there would only be one cashier. That always create a huge line down the main isle of the store, so it gets a little crowded there. The store is also pretty clean and organized. I always find the things I need at the same isle, most of the time. I mostly come for the cat food and supplies. The things I tend to get are reasonably priced for me and they do offer a better price when you use your membership card, which is pretty great! The membership price is sometimes a lot cheaper than the regular price. They also offer regular sales for everyone, but I rarely see that. Overall, I always have a decent experience here shopping for my cat. I come occasionally to run a quick errand. I will be back. read more

A las, this place may be good to just get ur dog washed, but to have a quick trim? Not so much. Our beautiful chocolate curly haired Cockapoo needed a good head trim since the summer was upon us and we could barely see his eyes. Since he was going in for a trim and wash, we said to trim his body as well. Just a midge. Long story short, you can see how botched the job was because his coat is different shades and so you can see the tracks of the razors all over his body. One of his 'under arms' (lol what do you call that on dogs?) is completely shaved to the skin and the other one is not shaved enough. My BF brought him in at 7am and I guess there was just one person. Why schedule more dogs then you're able to handle? He also asked them to trim his face down a lot and he came out with a full on beard. Shaved head and full on beard. No. So the lady took him in the back to fix it. Let's just say I can't wait till he grows out again, but he won't be growing back evenly =( read more

We came back to bring our puppy to the doggie day camp at the pets hotel. We made a reservation 48hrs in advance for an eight hour long play session. Making a reservation was smooth and easy. Come the day of at 9am, things went off without a hitch. Checking in was painless and quick. The facilities here are clean and well kept (so far as I can tell). There is a playroom for small dogs, and one for big dogs. When the dogs are not playing they're kept in their own little "doggie condos" (about a 4'x4' room). The amenities you have an option of choosing from are a peanut butter kong, and/or dog safe ice cream. We opted for the former. I think that was $4. All of the staff here was friendly, and eager to help. They also offer a puppy exit bath ($13) so our little canine pal was squeaky clean when we picked him up at the end of the day. Doggie day camp is a great way for your dog to get a good romping in and get some exercise and socialization in as well. My ONLY complaint here would be the person inside the doggie playroom told me I could not take pictures of my dog with my iphone while he played. I felt pretty wronged here but on i abided because I was about to leave anyways. PetSmarts doggie play room has an entire glass wall facing the public in the store. Everyone can see all the dogs at any time. Why should I NOT be able to take some photographs of my dog while he is playing? I can't think of a single good reason. If I had more time I would've raised a bigger stink. But overall. Very nice experience. Will bring our puppy back here next week! read more

We stopped taking our dog there for daycare because we found out the last time that she was in a crate for the 7 hours we had her there. I discovered this because I noticed that she was taken out of a crate rather than the playroom door when I went to pick her up. The video camera to the playroom was turned off so I couldn't see what was going on. When I questioned a staff member about this she lied and said "we knew when you were coming so we put her in a crate to make it easier for the pick-up". Note: we did NOT indicate a pick-up time. I then saw her stop the woman who was bringing our dog to us and told her something. I asked this woman why our dog was taken out of a crate rather than the playroom and she used the EXACT words the other woman used so she was obviously told what to say. I emailed the regional manager for Petsmart and TWO weeks later I received an email from customer service asking about the details and an offer for 3 free daycare visits. NO THANKS. Our dog is too precious to subject her to questionable care. read more

This store has everything pets!! The problem here is trying to find it. You have to wander the aisles looking for stuff because I can never find an employee. They do have super cute dog stuff that can get quite expensive very fast. Look for the sales and emails. I spend over 100 dollars every time I come here and I only take home 1-3 things. I wish they just had better customer service and a more spacious store. Everything is crammed in there. They have a training center here and pet food you might not find else where. read more

This review is for the Pets Hotel. I had to leave my Spunkmeister Bartholomew (my #1 baby boy) at a "kennel" for the first time. I was scared out of my mind cuz i've never left him alone for more than 10 hours (and even that's rare). I researched many kennels around the area and was most comfortable with Pets Hotel. Their suites looked comfortable, descent size, and considerably clean. The rest of the normal size kennels were away from civilization. I was able to peek at them through a window and they looked soo cold, scary, and dirty looking so i immediately booked a suite. Initially I was pretty pleased with how thorough they were when we checked in. However, (AS SOON AS i returned from my trip) I RAN as quick as i could to pick up spunkie and i wasn't super pleased with the shape he was in. He looked ok except for the fact that he was depressed. He also developed kennel cough. It was so pitiful..he couldn't bark and his throat was very coarse. i felt really bad and guilty for putting him in there. I am giving this place 3 stars because i still feel that this place, compared to the other kennels i researched, had the best quality. however..kennels in general never have the comforts of home. That was the first and last time i'll ever put any of my babies in a kennel/pets hotel. read more

I'm giving my 4 stars to the grooming department. I have been taking the girls here for a few years and they do a great job 90% of the time. My oldest loves to go to the groomer and they genuinely appear to love to have her. They always let me know what a dream my girls are to work with, which is nice for a Mom to hear. Michelle does an especially good job with our skittish baby, so I never fear leaving them. The rest of the store? ehhh. Sometimes it feels like PetCo has more stuff even though they're smaller. They don't carry anything for salt water tanks when we need supplies in a pinch. I basically only use the store for grooming! read more

I've been taking my baby girl Juicy (which is a morkie: half maltese and half yorkie) to Julie for about 4-4.5 years now. Julie is amazing! She is always sweet and super nice to me as well as Juicy. I know some of the other groomers that have been there for just as long and they're all super nice as well =) Julie always does a great job! Except for this one time in the beginning when she cut Juicy's hair too short. But ever since then she's put notes in Juicy's profile to make sure she gets the haircut that I love on her. She always gives her the teddy bear cut and even makes and puts bows in her hair. :) For $40 bucks she gets a bath, hair cut, nails clipped, and her anal glads drained. Also, Julie tries to get Juicy in and out as fast as she can since I hate leaving her there. Super bonus for that one! I take Juicy in about every 6 weeks for the whole package and just give her baths myself in between. I don't trust any other groomer but Julie. She takes care of my pooch and is even sweet to give Juicy a toy every xmas. I'm even taking my new baby Izzy Boo to Julie next week along w. Juicy for her first hair cut. Verdict: I give Julie 5 paws for being awesome! :D read more

Unfortunately my dog has gotten kennel cough 2 out of the 3 times he has stayed at the Fremont PetSmart hotel. Management said they had no record of kennel cough being reported at the location, even though my veterinarian said they called to reported the outbreak after the first incident. Be careful taking you pets to the Fremont location as I have had to take my dog to the vet after 2 of 3 stays to get medicine / treatment. read more

Mid-day Sunday and the one register open is 10 deep. 3 employees sitting at the front door on their phones and talking, finally one walks over and opens another register but doesn't ask for the next customer. Just stands there, when I asked if he is open he just looks at the light over the register and doesn't say a word. Extremely rude attitude. This is our first time leaving or puppy somewhere, and it's for three nights. No problem, we thought, because she can have her own treats. Come to find out that she can't have a Kong unless it's one of their $4 store ones. Nor can she have her chew stick, or bone. Some hidden list that's not online tells us. We have other treats we could have packed, but there wasn't time to go get more. The web page does say she can have her own blanket. Thank goodness for that comfort. Except that the front desk tells us that for hygienic reasons, they won't let us. So our 4 month old puppy is sitting in a 4x6 room they wouldn't let us look at for three nights with a few treats she gets to have at times we requested. Supposedly. Unfortunately, she won't be able to tell us. Support somebody local. Take your dog somewhere else. read more

Recently our dog had puppies, but was unable to nurse. Went in not knowing exactly what to look for and asked an employee for help requesting a formula fit for puppies just born hours before. He gave us a formula that was for puppies who were much older. When one of our puppies had a seizure because of low blood sugar, the vet pointed out the mistake in formula. Of course I don't expect employees to know information on every product, but I feel as though they should at least use common sense or ask a supervisor if they are unsure of a product. read more

My dog is very timid and Susan's recommendations and gentle training methods have worked perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This review is specifically for the Fish department, as it's the only reason I've ever gone into Petsmart for: I am thoroughly satisfied with practically everything in the aquatics section! I decided to venture into Freshwater fishkeeping after owning a gorgeous Saltwater tank for years as a child. So I decided to start at the Petco across the street, and the employee told me the tanks they had were a steal but as far as buying the actual fish, go to the Petsmart across the street. And wow, do they have a huge fish selection! There's at least 30+ tanks across two walls, full with clean water and the employees taking out dead ones very quickly, instead of other places that'll leave them to degrade. They even have a quarentine tank for sick fish! The staff has been very helpful as well, offering everything from free water tests and telling stories of their own fish tanks and what *they've* done when certain issues have come up with my tank. As for complaints, I have only 2: while Petco has a more limited selection, it's way better priced than most of the decor, tanks, and other supplies, which are on the pricey side. My other complaint is a certain High School looking girl who works there that gives me quite a bit of attitude everytime I go. I'll admit, I've made a good 2-3 trips a week since I bought my first tank 1 month ago for whatever reasons. But it's no excuse to put on the, "This Guy Again" face and give terrible advice that's ended up killing a few of my guppys. Other than that, this is my main shop for all my aquatic supply needs and it looks like it'll stay that way for a while =) read more

I'm writing on behalf of my father in law who takes his dog Molly to day care and boards her at this location. He always raves about how much Molly loves it there and how well they treat her. Unfortunately we had a family emergency after his wife was rushed to the ER on 9/5. On 9/6 Kirk decided to put Molly in the "doggy hotel" because my mother in law was put in ICU, and sadly on 9/10, she passed away. Not only did the staff treat Kirk with compassion with what he had just endured, they also comped Molly's whole stay. Kirk was so touched by their generosity at such a hard time, that I feel compelled to write this review to thank them and let others know how kind they are. So appreciated. read more

It's hard to get help from any employees here. One evening, I was on a search for a crate and nobody approached us and when I went looking for employees they were all occupied at the registers or no where to be found. However, I found a large crate that I thought would work so I hauled it all the way to the front and this young cashier guy at the register gave me his honest opinion and talked me out of buying it because he knew the size would not be big enough for my pup in the long run. Unfortunately, they did not have the next size up, so he told me to come back soon and that they should be expecting a shipment. He also told me not to go for a different brand other than that particular one because the quality was much better than the other crates. I really respect him for that. When you do finally find an employee or when you're already at the front getting ready to be rung up, the employees are friendly. I get Roscoe his dog food here, a bunch of toys, and treats. I even got his Christmas sweater here (which he hated), but he looked pretty cool in it. Overall, great products and friendly employees, just a bit understaffed at times. read more

Still the worst...but it's the only pet store near my house. Two employees talking to each other as I was checking out. No one else in line, they ignore me. I start making myself known and still nothing. Then they look at me like I am bothering them and the conversation they were having. Didn't say one word to me during the whole transaction except to ask me if I had a card with PetSmart. Did not thank me for coming in, or to have a nice day....nothing. And forget trying to find anyone to help you find anything. No one greets you when you come in and no one see's you and asks you if you need any help. What a joke. Management needs to overhaul the customer service in this place. I would give it zero to negative stars if I could. I would bring up things from my visits four years ago when I had my first dog, but I don't think anyone has time to read my essay. read more

We board our 65 and 80 pound dogs here and they love it so we do, too!They come back healthy and happy and don't exhibit the stress they used to when going to our old place. The staff are incredibly friendly and acommodating. Yay for the PetsHotel. We had our golden retriever shaved here and they gave him razor burn which later turned into a hot spot which brought about subsequent problems. Other times, we would pay for nail trimming, and it didn't even seem like they touched both our dogs' nails. Their grooming department is quite disappointing. Nay for the grooming. Their prices for pet products are reasonable and I like that they give discounts when you present a PetPerks card. Unfortuantely, unlike Petco, they do not track purchases or grooming and offer future discounts or coupons for frequent shoppers. I really like their selection of toys, accessories, and supplies, but I'm less than thrilled with their food selection. They don't carry higher end foods like Wellness, Merrick, Orijen, Solid Gold, etc., but they do have Avoderm and Blue Buffalo. A-Okay. They also have little clean up stations throughout the store in case your pet makes a little accident. The management of this store could use some work. One of them was incredibly unfriendly and I almost wanted to punch him for being such a poopoo during a return for an item that I had bought a few days ago, new in packaging, with a receipt. read more

My African Dwarf Frogs keep dying when I purchase them from this store. I used to have frogs for years, living happily in my tank. There is some sort of disease or mistreatment problem in the store or with the supplier. Lots of dead fish at the bottom of the tanks. When I purchased the second batch of frogs 3, after my first one died out, the lady caught them with a net and dropped one on the floor, then she put it into the plastic bag for me. That frog died the same day, others stayed alive for a week, then all died. read more

This petsmart is the closest petsmart to my house. I have brought couple stuff here for my dog and fish. The fish here is sometime a hit or miss. I have once brought some stuff only to have them die the next time in my tank. I also have gotten some fish that are still in my tank. I also have brought my dog here for grooming. I did not have much complain about it and my dog seem happy. The price is still more expensive than online price but I guess the idea of that you can just pick it up the same day is better than waiting couple day for you stuff to get here. Overall, this petsmart is just okay if you need supply fast. If you want to get some fish, I suggested you ask them when their fish supply come in and get it the same time the fish get shipped to the petsmart. read more

I wish I could give Petsmart Hotel in Fremont a zero! I have been taking my dog there for a year and a half. He has been going since he was 6 months old. He will be 2 in August. My friend told me not to leave him there ever! She said her friend's daughter use to work there and she would NEVER leave her pet in the hotel. I wish I would've listened. I dropped my fur baby off there on 6/16/17 at about 7:30am with his bed, favorite blanket, favorite toy and his food. I specifically told them to put his blanket and toy in his bed. He was only going there for 1 night, but I paid for full time daycare that day, the next day and the one night he was there. I picked him up the next day, 6/17/17 at about 2:00pm. It took them a VERY long time to bring him to me. He was excited to see me, but not acting normal. The employee handed me his bed, like it had the plague. I took it. It was so soaked with pee, it got my whole forearm wet. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought, "maybe" he had an accident. He never pees in his bed, not even when he was a puppy. I walked my dog out. When we got in the car, he was slightly wet and smelled of a mixture of pee and dog perfume. He laid down on my lap and looked SO depressed. He is usually so happy to see us, we can barely contain him in the car. We got him home and I instantly gave him a bath. I was so upset and went back to the store. I talked to the manager of the hotel, Sam. I explained the whole situation. She said she wasn't sure why I was handed a pee soaked bed. I told her, even if he had an accident, why wasn't the bed put in a plastic bag? She apologized. I asked her why he smelled like pee and dog cologne. She told me as a courtesy, they wipe down all the dogs before they go home. Funny, he's NEVER smelled like dog cologne before. Then I asked, "don't you clean the crates when the dogs are in daycare?" She said, "no." What the hell? I asked, "didn't someone smell the pee when they took my dog out?" She didn't have an answer. Then I asked, "so if my dog was staying one more night, would he be in a pee soaked bed since no one cleaned his crate?" Again no answer. I was so upset at this point, I was shaking. I asked her, "what if this was your baby girl or boy and I put them in their pee soaked crib, would you like it?" She said, "no." Then she actually had the nerve to say to me, "ma'am, you said you've brought him many times and this is the first incident." Are you kidding me??? I told her there shouldn't be ANY incidents! Who says that??? That's like me saying, " well, I've watched your child many times, but this is the first time he drowned." Oh my God!!! I also left 3 baggies of food with a cup of food in each bag for each feeding. When I opened the bag that had his blanket, toy, and food, the food was still in there and untouched. They never fed him. The blanket and toy were dry and still smelled clean. They never gave him his blanket and toy like I asked or they would've smelled like pee also. Please, if you love your fur baby as much as I do, DO NOT leave him/her at Petsmart Hotel. She refunded my $74, but you can not put a price on your baby. I have written corporate and this is not over! It is now 9:03 pm, about 7 hours later and my dog is still not acting normal. Almost like they gave him doggie downers. I wish I could submit a picture. Three days later and still no response from corporate about my situation. No wonder, Sam didn't care when I said I was emailing corporate! Time to call Seven on your side! read more

This review is solely for Veronica at the PetsHotel. I'd never thought of boarding my dog before but with my whole family going on vacation and him getting out of the house last time his Uncle Justin watched him I decided boarding him would be the best for his safety and my sanity. From December 24-27 with 2 days of doggy day camp (those were the only days he could apparently) and a full bath at the groomers, it was $190. The bath was $40 although reading other reviews about $13 exit baths make me feel a little ripped off but he looks great. He's a husky so I made sure to note no hair cutting, just bath brush cut nails etc. Anyways, on to VERONICA! She was amazingly sweet to my baby. He may be 3 years old but he is still my little baby. She gave him a little extra attention and you can tell she loves dogs and does a great job. She asked a lot of questions about him to make sure she catered to his needs (allergies, tendencies..) she made the experience so much less nerve wracking. I would definitely consider bringing Jacob back. Although when we left he peed for a straight minute which makes me feel like they didn't let him pee and he does not pee on floors he will only pee when they walk him. Other than that I would love to bring him when I have a busy day for the day camp and next time we go on vacation. The 1 star isn't so much for PetSmart itself, but rather specifically in reference to their grooming department. The store itself has your usual goods, and they're pretty clean... and the PetsHotel looks nice, but reviewers are saying that it s presentation is deceiving. Their grooming department however, I would stay away from if at all possible. They seem to have a fairly high turnover rate in their grooming staff and last time I took my dogs there --- which literally ended up being the last time --- majority of the groomers looked like high schoolers! My dogs came out looking really choppy, and they even nicked my dog on one of his ankles! My dogs certainly did not look like I paid PetSmart $100 for their hair cuts. Also previously when I was at this PetSmart grooming department, I saw through the window that they had some sort of mishap while clipping the nails of someone's poor cat. A good amount of blood was dripping out, and the girl looked freaked out as if the nail had fallen out or something. It looked pretty bad. And as if that wasn't enough, previously when I had taken my dogs there for a prior grooming, one of my dogs freshly cut nails scraped my husband, breaking the skin and he ended up with a HORRIBLE skin infection. That alone tells you that they are not very sanitary with their instruments! Stay away from their grooming services at this location! read more

Surprisingly, I really like this place. The service is friendly and responsive. I have been taking my two chihuahuas here for just over two years for grooming and they treat my babies very well. They are never nervous or upset when I pick them up and they look and smell great. I think it's also nice that they remember us when i call for an appointment most times and they call to let me know when they are ready to pick up, which is usually earlier than estimated. They also have no problem if i have another commitment and need to pick them up later. I like them so much in fact, that i recently moved 30 miles away and still take my dogs here. I will be trying the pet hotel next week for the 1st time. I'll let you know how it goes. So far they too have been responsive and have eased my fears about leaving my babies for such a long period of time (14 days). I will say this, I'm in the wrong profession. Doggie boarding these days is the same as the nightly rate at a mid range hotel. About $60 per day! read more

I have been taking my dogs here for the last 2 years to get groomed. Lately their grooming hasn't been as great looking as it was when I first starting coming here. I also got intimidated by one of the groomers, because when I came to pick up my pooches one cute lil puppy was getting yelled at by the groomer. "what are you doing? Stop moving." and that puppy was just sitting quietly adjusting how she was sitting. I felt so bad for the puppy. So now I'm looking for new groomers. As for Banfield... I live their staff!! They are awesome the secretaries at the counter, nurses, and vets are great to my pups and me. I appreciate them. I give them 5 stars. read more

We've been a customer of this Petsmart since 2009, and have always gotten solid customer service from the team there. We especially love Susan the dog trainer - and our dog still instantly becomes the perfect pooch every time he sees her. They have a great selection of dog food, toys, etc - and are always well-stocked on food for our cornsnake as well. The store is always clean, organized, and well-staffed. They offer boarding (though pricey with lots of upcharges), veterinarian services, and grooming. read more
