My puppies before all excited to be in the car, calm and sweet as always.

If I could give this 0 stars I would towards the grooming department, I took my puppies in for a simple bath and brush and left with one of my puppies needing surgery on her face, I cried so much leaving with her and seeing that something that was supposed to be fun and exciting for them AS IT WAS THEIR FIRST EXPERIENCE at the groomers will most likely leave my puppy traumatized for life. Never taking them to pet smart for their grooming needs ever again. She didn't deserve that and I have heard many people have had similar issues and experiences with them.

So far so good. $5.00 and got me in today. Plus he looks good. After further review of my yorkie I noticed his eyes were unevenly clipped and they were not clean. Take my review way down.

The difference in his mane and his body.

My dog, Koa is a year old Belgian Malinois but unfortunately was not trained. She was rehomed to me. I desperately needed obedience training. James shared pictures and videos with me of the whole journey since I lived 3 1/2 hours away. I had no reservations about leaving her with him. I doubt she wanted to leave him to come home! This will probably not be the only training she will get from James. He's very open to this being a great experience for you and your dog. I highly recommend him for any training you need for your dog.

Controlled K9 came to our home to evaluate her and recommended a four week board and train to work on basic obedience, leash manners, and off leash recall. We loved that she was taken in as a member of the family during her "boarding school," and they provided regular photos and updates on her progress throughout. She returned to us her same happy, sweet self in the house, but basically a new dog on leash! The Controlled K9 team trained us on how to continue her training, and remained super responsive to our follow up questions. It's incredible to see the transformation and we're so grateful to the Controlled K9 team for changing our lives - and Zoey's - for the better!

Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

Brandi & Perry were amazing! Highly recommend working with them…read more We adopted a one year old mixed breed, Tuck, a few months ago. He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

I took notes during the phone call, and recorded being told several times "refund ok." Went once, determined that this environment at this time would be unnecessarily stressful for the dog. Asked for the refund and was told "no refunds after you have attended one class." I communicated that I felt I had expressed my concerns clearly and was encouraged to 'attend "just one class" or I could have a refund.' I was then told I could have a credit towards other training, but no refund according to their policy, regardless of what I was told. I may have returned at another time, when my dog had completely recovered from his experience, but the refusal from them to entertain what I understood to be a verbally promised refund has soured my opinion of this company. I believe I was cajoled into attending the "one class" so that they could deny my request for a refund based on their policy. Warning: If you are told a refund is possible, you will not receive it if you attend a class. Their policy is buried on the website, they will verbally tell you a refund is possible, but will not honor that. The reason for my concerns: As a result of another dog attacking mine that same week, my dog had 5 staples from the wound, and exhibited a new response to other dogs. He previously enjoyed other dogs but now exhibited both fear & aggression.

I'm disappointed and upset that…read moreat this point, I've lost any semblance of trust for them and cannot leave my animals with them. Twice in the last several months, my dog has been injured by other dogs. The first time she ended up with a hole in her ear from a bite, which they called and informed me about. I went to get her and she was oddly in good spirits but has a gnarly tooth hole in the tip of her ear. I monitored overnight and cleaned her up, since emergency vet visits after-hours are costly and the injury wasn't life-threatening. We lucked out in that instance, and I wish that was the end. Maybe it should've been for me, but I know dogs will be dogs. It bothered me, and I ignored a gut instinct telling me it could've been avoided by better temperament monitoring etc. I wish I'd listened. January 2025: the long and short of it is that at pickup time the excited dogs tend to go bananas and cluster by the door. Apparently not one but TWO dogs got aggressive in this moment when my dog was being jumped on and signaled with a 'yelp' that she wasn't a happy camper...and the other two dogs involved (daycare's details, given to me from camera review) did not appreciate it; one left a tooth gouge so deep in my dogs back that it actually looked like a long, gaping incision - that we had to take her and our other dog in tow immediately to the emergency vet where she was sedated and required surgical care and 2-3 weeks of follow ups, stitch removal, and for me to take several days off of work to monitor and nurse her to a comfortable point so I could return. $1000.00 later, I've now asked them several times via email for what my recourse options were. No acknowledgement. What's worse is the acknowledgements I did get avoid addressing those comments or concerns, and are simply "Ok great thanks for keeping us posted!" They'd only reply with their best wishes for my dog, and that they'd make sure the other two dogs weren't in open play with mine - plus a "warning." Conveniently, no acknowledgement of my concerns about the financial hardship or questions about what my next steps were. I read the fine print in my liability with them on day one: you are responsible for any costs or repercussions of property damage, injury, etc. caused by your pets and Dogtopia was not. Which is fine, I signed it with full knowledge that could happen; dogs will be dogs. I had to put this issue on hold for a bit as the winter was not kind to us circumstantially. Now it's time to see if my dogs are ready for daycare again and some grooming, and things have calmed a bit so I could give this my attention yet again. 4/23/25 I sent a final email to them about it, and not shockingly at all, zero reply or acknowledgement. At least, not until I asked a very direct question - which I will get to momentarily. Initially I wanted to ensure that 1) the dogs who were warned would not be in open play with mine, so I wanted to warn them we were coming so they could be especially mindful (as you can imagine, my paranoia is in high amounts all things considered) and 2) if I could inquire about how to contact the two other dog owners to discuss the costs of the injuries further. I was quickly told no, they don't share pet parent info. I replied and said well, I read your liability rules you made me sign and they say that pet parents are solely responsible for the consequences and costs of their dogs damage or injury. So how do you expect me to accomplish that if you won't give me that info to make contact? It's now been a week, well past the reasonable time to reply to an email, so I can only deduce that yet again I am being ghosted and I'm done trying to remedy this with people insistent on being unprofessional and avoidant. I suppose I will have to take further recourse against the daycare if they won't follow their own policies. This is deeply saddening that I've spent probably in the thousands of dollars in 10 years just to lose this option for my girls. And to be treated like a casual afterthought when if I were the recipient of that last email, I'd at least sense the importance of a reply nonetheless maybe involving someone of actual authority and tenure there to help manage my request. Make no mistake, it will be settled as I don't intend to shrug it off. I just wish it didn't have to be the hard way, as I've had enough of that all things considered. I don't want to tell other consumers "stay away!" because that's not my place. But this has been my experience.

We were told that the two dogs were playing and then the other dog became aggressive and attacked our dog, biting him around his ear, causing profuse bleeding and severe damage. After we rushed over to pick up our dog to take him to the vet, we later received a call from the General Manager who stated that when a staff member tried to stop the attack, she was then bitten by our dog who was still under attack. She stated that their protocol is to call Animal Control when a dog bites a human and that our dog would need to be quarantined for 10 days. When we spoke with Animal Control, they said they were not given the entire story and were unaware that our dog was under attack at the time of the alleged bite of a staff member. To date, Dogtopia Gainesville has refused to provide a written Incident Report or any video footage of what happened between the two dogs and what happened when the staff member tried to intervene. Our next step will be to contact the Corporate Office to get a better understanding as to why we have not received a written Incident Report and video footage of what happened.
