We brought our 1 year old goldendoodle here for grooming for the first time recently after hearing some raving reviews about Helen's prior work with doodles --- and we were not disappointed. We interacted with several staff members, all of whom were friendly with us and especially with our pup. Historically, our dog threw herself at the ground and refused to walk into the grooming area at our last groomer, but she was excited to explore upon our arrival at PetSmart ---- we'll see if she is as excited next time, now that she's learned that it's just a new groomer, but it seemed like she might do better here. It had admittedly been a while since her last groom (I'm always sad when the fluff has to go!), but we do our best to brush her and avoid mats, so I was particularly grateful when Helen told us that she only shaves out mats when she absolutely has to as opposed to just immediately resorting to a razor. As a result, our pup's fur is a more consistent length than it had been at after other groomings, and she looks great! They also recommended a conditioner package, so her fur is soft and smells great. At just over $120, the price initially seems steep, but considering we have a 60 lb dog with a thick coat that was overdue for grooming, I think the end result was totally worth it. My dog suffered a cut when the blade grazed his leg during grooming. They left a message but I was at another appt so they took him to a vet where he was checked and given antibiotics. The staff at Petsmart reported the bare facts of what happened and handed him back to me with the vet note and antibiotics. After this experience they didn't even offer a gift card. I would say in hindsight the staff looked very young and inexperienced. I won't take my dog there again. I really would advise not to take a small dog there. read more

Got some much needed dry dog food and dog supplements here - no issues and the manager was very helpful. Prices are just OK but sales (if you can get 'em) are good. Bonus - next door to Target so we can do both stores in one trip. read more

My mother-in-law got her puppy groomed there yesterday and I would give zero stars if possible. Groomer was rude and proceeded to charge $8 extra for a haircut that looks like a child did it- bald patches all over and jagged lines. read more

Worst experience ever! Took my 2 dogs to get a haircut and nobody would assist me with getting them both in the store. I brought one in and asked if I could leave him to get my other dog and they said they couldn't watch him. I was going to be leaving them for hours to get a haircut but they can't watch him for a minute so I could get my other dog. I asked if someone could go out to the car with me to help bring both dogs in and they said no. Not only would they not help me but they were extremely ignorant. I will never ever go back to them. Went here to adopt 2 kittens on Friday the 2nd of April 2021and filled out an application and was told it would take up to four days to hear from the Forgotten Cats adoption agency. On Monday the 5th I was contacted and told I may not adopt because I have no history of owning a cat. I had cats and took care of them when I lived with my mother, but because I was not the "owner" I am not allowed to adopt. He reason given is "because of covid people returned cats so now no one without a veteranarian reference can adopt." So if you don't own a cat you never will. The woman I spoke to was rude and did not listen just kept repeating the quote. I got loud and mad and hung up. Don't go here for pet adoption unless you are ready to be treated like garbage. read more

Horrible groomers! Our Vet recommended a low dose of a sedative before his grooming appointments because he just does not like. Pet smart was informed of this. We get a call saying to come get our dog because he was too sedated and in the same sentence she said he would not sit still and was aggressive while he was being blowed dried. Obviously, they are inexperienced with dogs that anxious about hair cuts. Krista C is An inexperienced Groomer and would never recommend her to anyone.They were rude, condescending and flat out lied about what they saw in my opinion. I talked to the manager and I got were a bunch of excuses. He was fine when we picked him up 15 minutes after the call and now an hour later he is still fine. Been denied buying a fish multiple times now. I have had them all my life and even work at a veterinary hospital and I'm very knowledgeable about the subject as well. First time she was very rude and must have forgotten about me the next time until half way through our conversation, then proceeded to take back her sale and say I don't have the proper set up or whatever excuse she can pull from her ass at that moment. Also they don't seem to even want to help you buy a fish. Multiple people were standing there waiting and were never approached by the aquatic employees. Wish I could rate this place 0 stars. My puppy started getting groomed here since the day we got her. Jeanine has always gone above and beyond to make Nina and myself comfortable! The training at this Petsmart is incredible. I was not going to get Nina trained until I found out that Brittany was the number one in the region! I signed my puppy up later that day. The classes are very informative and have helped so very much. Brittany is one of a kind and treats my dog as if it were her own. She knows so much about animals and I take her advice for everything! read more

I brought my Goldendoodle here for the past 6 years and up until recently had the best experience. Prior to coming here we went to a "boutique groomer" in a another state which we lived. Over the past 6 years, I have never gotten anything other then a glowing report of my dog when I picked him up. He loved going there and I felt so comfortable bringing him there, despite some national bad reports of other stores. My dog was groomed by some wonderful girls, Nicole, Lauren, Courtney and Helen just to name a few. Unfortunately either some of these girls cut their hours back or moved to other locations. I recently booked with a new girl and the minute we walked into the salon, my dog seemed uneasy. As I was walking out, I turned and watched her have to drag him to the back where they keep the dogs. For the first time, I had a pause when dropping him but thought I was being crazy. An hour and a half later I get a phone call to pick my dog up. I was informed that I have been told before that I had to bring him in the early AM or late PM because he barks too much at other dogs. I let the person know that I have NEVER been told this, only glowing reports by girls who loved him. None the less, I went and picked him up, after an hour and a half, he wasn't even bathed.....just apparently sat in a crate for the entire time. They could not get him to come out of the crate. As I looked around the salon, out of 5 people, I only recognized 1. I believe either they are under new management or have a new crew of people working there. My dog sensed that it wasn't a good place for him to be and I believe it as well. The manager told me that he needs to get used to new groomers, well guess what....I went about a mile away and found a groomer who did a fantastic job, no issues at all and for some reason he got used to them right away. Way to go PetSmart!! You had a loyal customer who had their dog groomed every 6 weeks for 6 years and you just lost them. You made me feel like my dog was viscous and unruly....a golden doodle by the way!!! I do not recommend this location, at least not until they get some people there who truly love dogs and what they do. read more

We adopted a puppy a month ago and since then this Pet Smart has been her favorite place to visit. Grooming: As soon as we got her, she got a shampoo and flea dip. The grooming services are great and well priced. It is definitely worth having them give her a bath over the headache it would give us. All of the staff are very nice. We have a smaller dog who gets a little shy around large dogs. Since the grooming area was full of large dogs, the staff member picked her up and told her she'd make her feel like a big dog. Training: We also enrolled her in puppy classes. Kate, the trainer, was awesome. She had a lot of great tips that made bringing a new puppy into our home an enjoyable experience. Sometimes the classes could be frustrating since there were so many distractions for the puppies. However, Kate was very positive and in the end it was worth it just to socialize her with the other dogs. The prices on some items may be high sometimes, but the staff are very friendly and the other services are wonderful. read more

Took my dog here to get his first groom and the associates were ALL awesome. I saw a comment that said it seemed none of them looked willing to work. From my experience that is completely false. Everyone is smiling and asking if you need help almost every time you interact. One associate Brittany knew a lot about dogs in general and let us test some training treats that I found my dog loved and we ended up buying a whole bag. The groom came out amazing my dog looked brand new and happy. And the groomers were exceptionally friendly to my dog. My groomed in particular name was Megan and she was a great help as well as giving me and my girlfriend advice about how to upkeep our furry friend here. read more

Don't know who is in charge now but I used to LOVE taking my dogs there and now no one seems to want to "work" and comb/brush through the hair before they wash the dogs.....they call and say "we will need to shave them" which is the "lazy" way out let out AND the fastest way to make a buck AND I know this because I USED to be a groomer! Doubt I will be taking my dogs back EVER again,,...and those of you who get the that call that says "we can't comb through their legs" tell them to put a little "elbow grease" into it and see if they know what you mean.....if they don't, move on like me. read more

Our young rescue dog did the beginner class and learned simple commands and leash training. During the sessions we left the training room and ventured into the store to try out commands and have the dogs meet strangers. This in-store exercise helped me feel more confident in our dog's behavior in real life situations. Overall we learned tips on how to get our dogs to behave in social situations. Another plus was the small class size: our class was made up of 3 dogs. The beginner class runs for six consecutive weeks and all 3 dogs had perfect attendance. This helped too because we could see the progress of the other dogs and hear reports of what worked and what didn't. My experience with this PetSmart in concordville has been a dream experience. Jesse the manager is truly one of the best managers in the business and a guy I would recommend to my friends and family ..From the second you walk in the door the greetings and smiles you get from the staff is just an overall warm welcome. His Fish staff members Brian and Rogan(Regan) sorry if I misspelled it are by far the best and nicest people you ever will meet. They walked me through everything to get my fish tank started and even helped me pick out the best fish to suite my Aquarians style. I've been to other Petsmart's and even have one that's closer to me and still I always come back to this one because of the treatment and the atmosphere. To give an example a few of my fish died and I was at a loss of words, I called Jesse to tell him my heartbreaking story. Without even thinking he said not a problem I'm there tomorrow come in bring some of the fish that passed away and we will pick out new fish and even refund you back for the ones that we don't have available. To me that meant a lot an overall is just great customer service. To anyone reading this I'm a customer for life and would recommend the Petsmart Concordville staff to anybody that is looking for a great place to do business.. Well our first experience with their groomers is now definitely our last. Called yesterday to set up appointments for our German Shepherd/corgi mix to have a haircut and for our shih tzu to have a haircut and his nails clipped. Answered all the girls questions about the weights and sizes of the dogs and were told that they would just call our vet and get their vaccination records (we had asked for their fax number so we could call to have them send over) and she said they could come in today for appts at 7 and 8am. Well just got everyone in the house up early so we could get them there on time and were told on arrival that they couldn't do their appointments because the German Shepherd/corgi was "bigger than they expected" and the shih tzu had only been booked for a bath and they had never called for their vaccination records. Seriously? Seriously? We literally told them on the phone he's an 80lb dog, we specifically said haircuts and nails, we offered to have the records sent over ourselves...what a total joke and complete waste of time.
