I find this location is very convenient as it is located in a large shopping plaza which can make for an easy shopping expedition of need be The staff at this location is very friendly for both the store and Banfield. You can easily tell that the majority of the employees are pet owners/parents themselves. I especially love that when you've been here enough times, they know you by name as well as your babies (puppies/cats) names. It's also very convenient to be able to bring your pet into the store and allow them to pick put what treat or toy they prefer. Grooming and veterinary services that are offered here are very good and reasonable. The staff is very knowledgeable. I never hesitated to bring either one of my babies here. read more

My wife and I have been bringing our dogs here for several years now and have always been very happy with the service that we have received. Today was a different story. When we picked up our dogs, one of them looked as if an totally inexperienced groomer had worked on her. The hair around her ears looked more hacked than cut and in some areas as if nothing was done at all. Not very happy. We will be sure not to allow that groomer to work on our dogs again. read more

Had one of the worst customer service experiences at this store. This happened on April 13, 2018 and I had to wait this long because whenever I think about this store, I just become angry all over again. On April 13, 2018, I went into the store with the intention of purchasing a hair clipper for my two dogs. I had been coming to this store since I moved to Las Vegas back in 2011. So I go in there around 11:00 AM and walk around to try and find the dog clippers. I found them towards the right side of the store by the vet area. I waited around 10 minutes or so and no one even passed by to help. While waiting, I go ahead and pull up the petsmart.com website and what I saw was kind of annoying. The clippers in the store were being advertised as being 25 dollars off Andis brand clippers. So in store price off the clippers I wanted was 174.99 (original 199.99). However on the website, it was being listed for 159.95. The 4FC clip in store was 41.99 and online was 27.57. So I thought, ok that it was weird. So after waiting the 10 minutes or so, I go to the front where the cashier is alone and I ask for help with the clippers. I see her pull the mic to her mouth and ask for a manager. She said someone will be right there with me. After about 30mintues of waiting (I had taken pictures of the price tags in store after waiting a bit which was timestamped 11:22am) no one came still. Around 11:45am I went back to the front and asked the cashier up front what happened to a manager. Her response was "I just got here." Ok, great, not what I asked for. So I then said I wanted a manager. Wow, once someone is angry enough a manager magically appeared within 10 seconds. I told her that I had been waiting a long time and still wasn't helped. I also spoke up about the price difference. The cashier replied "Oh well, the prices are different online." So I replied with "So if I never cheked, I'd be getting ripped off? What's the point in advertising that 25 off Andis clipper in store with the online price being even lower then that? The manager offered to get my clippers and kept apologizing the whole time. I don't want that, I wanted my clippers. She "graciously" gave me 10 off my total after I had bought the clippers and the 4FC blade. Now that I'm typing this up, I'm angry that I still decided to do business with this store and company. I wish I could just return this but I have used it already (the andis clipper is fantastic). I later typed up an email to petsmart customer service and I was told I would get contacted by someone within 48 hours. Nope. I got contacted by the store manager, Matt, about 6 days later. When I called back, I had to go through the automated phone system and then go through another employee. He offered his apology (like that would magically make it okay?) and then said that my experience would be used for training. Well, good for you, I was still very much inconvenienced. I told him that I would never shop there again even after having been going there the past 7 years. I told him with the time I wasted and the way I was treated, I'd rather just shop on Amazon where I can do it from my own home without having wasted my time waiting. Did I also mention the one worker who I saw go into the dog training area they have and just sit there? I swear she saw me standing there staring at her then I feel as if she pretended not to see me and just ignored I was even there. 5/3/2018 When writing this review, I decided to grab screenshots of the website showing the price online. Took my pup to get groomed. Bad idea. I asked to use a de shedding shampoo since he sheds so much. They charged me 30$ for that special shampoo which was fine. When I went to pick him up he looked sad/mellow (hes a pug and he's always happy and has a lot of energy.) I'm not sure what happened to him, but I definitely won't be bringing him back here. As for his "package" they were suppose to brush his teeth, brush his fur, clean his ears, and file his nails. I paid 50$ for nothing. When I grabbed him there were hairs flying everywhere. They did not brush his fur out. I smelled his mouth and it smelled the same. His nails are still long, his ears are decent, but could be better. The "shampoo" they used didnt smell like anything. I really do feel like they just rinsed him with water and that was it. I got a call 25 minutes later saying he was ready. These people are lazy! read more

My dog came back home after being groomed for 5hours!! Which is crazy because last time they only took 2 hours so I was curious on why they took so long this time but when he came home he was different he was shaking a lot and being very aggressive I believe they did something to my dog he's never been aggressive towards me and he won't leave his cage!!! read more

My go-to PetSmart! The people here are always nice and friendly when me and the pups roll through for some pet goods. I believe I even picked up a few fish from here for my fish tank and they are still alive today contrary to most chain pet stores where all the fish are sick and on death's door when you go and choose 'em out. This location is relatively clean and well kept. My wife and I usually frequent the groomers at PetSmart to get their nails trimmed and like mentioned earlier, they are nice and very friendly (shout out to my braddah from Hawaii.. howzit!) and always willing to answer questions. Not too shabby PetSmart on N. Nellis! Keep up the service and I'll be coming back time and time again. See ya when the pet food runs out! read more

Worst customer service ever! They can't find you on the system for a return if you have the perks account with them. Lo and behold, if you are making a purchase, there you are!!!! The cashier argued with me and told me I gave her the wrong email (which I just did because it wasn't showing up with the phone number) even though she actually used the number while making the purchase to pull up the account. Hello? You don't argue with the customer even when you are right, much less when you're in the wrong! The manager was rude as well and I honestly don't even know why people get these jobs without having any customer service skills whatsoever. I will never set foot on this store again! read more

Love this store! Employees are so very helpful! We had a stray cat who had kittens, and then abandoned them. A very patient gal at this store helped us with what we needed ('formula', bottles, etc) and gave us advice on how to handle the little angels. Fortunately, 'mom' did return and took care of her brood. On another occasion, I was in the store to really take a hard look at the cat food, both wet and dry, as I was concerned about all the bad pet food stories (i.e., ingredients from China, pets getting sick, etc). I was helped by a very nice older gentleman, sorry I didn't catch his name, who absolutely understood what I wanted, and explained about both Hill's and Science Diet foods being made in the good old USA (imagine that!). We've had good luck switching our cats to the Science Diet dry, but they won't take to the wet. Still eating Fancy Feast, which does get some of its ingredients from China. (Ingredients that apprarently they can't find in the US, per their email to me....um, what?). We will still be working on converting our kids to a US-friendly or even organic wet pet food. I truly appreciate all the help the employees of this PetSmart have offered. They really do know their stuff. read more

This place deserves less than one star. Took my dog here to get groomed, and although they were quick about it, the hack job they left my dog, is indescribable. Not only that, but I was charged a $8 "handling fee" because my dog was "bad". Mind you, he is a 5 pound shitzu who is also DEAF. The worst part of it all, is after picking him up, and bringing him home, he was very scared, shaky, and aggressive. Which, he never is. I can only imagine what they did to him while no one was watching. Keep in mind, if you read previous reviews, other people had the same issue. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. Used to go to this location for years and customer service was great. Never did any grooming there. Over the past few years, not counting COVID issues, it is awful. Lines to the back of the store, one lane open, manager on his phone outside or in office with no care whatsoever 30 people are in line and maybe going out to help! Don't even think of asking an incredibly rude woman with red hair a question about products over at the Banfield Counter without getting shouted at she doesn't work for Pet Smart!!! There used to be representatives from various pet food companies to answer questions, now all you get is I don't know, I'll find someone to help never to be seen again. Will continue to get our pet food from our vet and Chewy. How sad a once nice store has fallen to such poor customer service and bad attitudes. read more

It's not bad, but it's not great either. But it's convenient for me. Not the best selection of dog bowls/watering dishes. However, they do sell Nutro, which is what I feed my dogs. Sometimes you can get really good deals on BIG bags of dog food. You can never have too much, I think. The parking lot is usually a mad house though and I'm a little weary of letting my pups out in the lot, even if they are leashed. So it's nothing special. Just a PetsMart. read more

I missed an appointment due to I have issues with my pregnancy I'm high risk pregnancy then the day of my next appointment I ended up in the hospital for a miscarriage and I called literally the NEXT day to apologize and let them know what happened and make a new appointment. Do you think they had even once ounce of compassion???? Nooo instead I had some rude lady names LORI giving me a lecture telling me I messed with the associates money and she didn't want to book me and just kept going in about this girls money which mind you every time I go I spend over a 100 and I top the groomer nicely. It's sad to because the groomer who did my dog was amazing and I loved her work but then acting like that and giving me a lecture was just insane not only that she even blocked me from appointments online. I emailed their corporate and I doubt they will reply right. Save your money and use a private groom or even Petco. I Will updated if corporate messages me back which I'm so sure they would never. Do not not bring your dog for grooming services here. I have brought my miniature poodle here about 3 or 4 times to get her hair groomed and I didn't think I would have a problem. Just today, I come in here to drop off my puppy for a haircut and I get a call three hours later from the groomer telling me that she had cut my puppy's ear and had to take her to the vet next door. I was told that there was so much hair that she "accidentally" snipped "a little piece" of my puppy's ear and that the cut wasn't very big. When I arrive to pick her up, not only did I have to wait about 20 minutes to receive my puppy, I come to find out that a chunk of the bottom of my puppy's ear had been cut off, NOT JUST "A LITTLE CUT", as I was told. My poor baby had blood residue on the bottom of her ear, she was very shook and scared when I received her from the groomer and what I assume was the manager. Of course, I did not have to pay for the terrible service, but nothing is going to bring back the chunk of my baby's ear that was cut off and nothing is going to fix the terrible experience my puppy and I had had here. How terrible at grooming can someone be to not notice how a dogs ear is shaped and "accidentally" cut a chunk of it off?? I will never step in another pets mart in my life and especially not this one. I want to warn you all about this and bring it to your attention so you can prevent your fur baby from getting hurt or even killed by these ignorant groomers. Of course, no apologies were made and the two ladies didn't make me feel any better about the situation. Terrible..terrible service. read more

I took my dog cookie to be groomed here. The tech who groomed her was Elizabeth. She was so awesome! She was so sweet to cookie. Cookie didnt care for the dryer so she sat on the floor and let cookie curl in her lap while she blow dried her. Elizabeth was so nice to me and my husband when we picked her up. We came in from out of town and got our 5 month Jack Russell Terrior "weezie" groomed. She was barking up a storm not being a happy camper, but I figured she needs to learn. I was told to pick her up in a couple of hours. Two hours passed and she was not ready, I was told to wait 45 more minutes. When she was ready, Weezie was very calm. The groomer said she finally got used to the groomer. I took her home and an hour later she had a seizure. I immediately called the groomer and they said that sometimes a puppy could have a seizure if it was really stressful, but to watch her and bring her in the morning if she has another. The store was closed when Weezie had her second seizure. She had them all night one every hour. In the morning I called Bansfield and told them what happened and they said to bring her right in. When I got to Petsmart there was the tech that handed me Weezie. She told me she saw that Weezie had a seizure and told her supervisor Melissa. So when I got to Bansfield, I spoke with the receptionist and she said that Melissa came and asked her if puppies could get seizures. Being a receptionist she did not get the doctor she instead told Melissa that puppies do not get seizures. This was all new information to me, no one informed me of the seizures until then. I went in and spoke to the doctor and asked what is going on, my dog was fine yesterday and today she is having a seizure every hour. I questioned the care that was given at the groomer, possibly got dropped or she could of eaten something. The doctor said no, it looked like distemper, and was beyond what they can do at Bansfield. So I was referred to another hospital which we went and they wanted to hospitalize her and try to treat her with more medication. I asked if they could give her medication so we could get home. They did. This morning we went to our vet by our home. Her respiratory had been compromised and the seizures had taken its toll on our poor Weezie and there was nothing they could do but she could go into ICU somewhere else but that would just buy a little time. The doctor said it was way too late and she would probably not survive. So we put her to sleep. She was only 5 months old. Word of caution. Know where your dog is when they are getting groomed, Petsmart takes them behind closed doors. I found out they have a cage where they put the dogs in to be dried. The techs do not use their judgment on warning you if something has gone wrong to your pet, as what happened in our case. Take your pet to a less of a over crowed environment. You never know, it can happen to you! I no longer have a happy little puppy named Weezie and I do blame Petsmart as part of the problem my little puppy had. read more

I worked for Petsmart for five years, so I'm aware of what is acceptable by company policy and what is not. When it came to the Nellis PetSmart, I was underwhelmed by the store itself (in my review I do not consider products or prices because these reflect PetSmart company policies and do not reflect individual stores). The store itself was adequately clean, but if it were any messier they would've gotten dinged by company standards. The shelves were not fully stocked but when I was finally able to track down an employee, he was helpful. If that were my only experience I'd probably give this store a 3/5. However, I made the mistake of getting my dog cut at the grooming salon here. When I got him back, he had not been cut the way I had told the groomers I would like, and his ear was sore and he was bending his head down. As we were leaving, I noticed that his ear was dripping blood, and when I inspected closer I saw that they had sliced open his ear in three different spots. It was very, very obvious and, as a former PetSmart employee, I'm perfectly aware that the policy with anything more than a bleeding nail requires taking the injured animal to the Banfield vet AND informing the pet owner. I will say flat out that PetSmart as a company has some very good policies, and, accordingly, some fantastic groomers; the problem, however, is when some stores can't be bothered to follow the appropriate protocols set in place for them until Corporate gets involved. read more

went to this location just yesterday to take my dog for a check up and before we had even got to banfield, I saw a pet smart worker, an older Caucasian lady with dirty red hair, I tried to stop her to ask where the restroom was located. all I got out was, "excuse me ma'am" and she put her hand up, looked at me while walking and said "I'm already off work. I don't answer questions when I'm off." then continued to walk away. Took my Yorkie puppy here with a bad gut feeling and I was right, the guy at front asked me what I wanted, I specifically told him and showed him pictures. Told him that I wanted the tips of her ears shaved leaving about 3/4 hair still... well when I picked her up, her ears were completely shaved:( I was not happy. They also tried charging a ridiculous amount, $52 for a four month old puppy who doesn't have much hair to cut I just wanted a cleanup for her. I was on that side of town but I had called to a petsmart by my home and they charge $12-15 for puppies under 5 months. This place is a total ripoff!!! read more

I took my dog in to be groomed on May 8, 2017. That called to tell me they found two fleas under her tail. They said she would have to be flea dipped or I would have to pick her up. They out right lied to me. I have had the dog for ten years and she has never had a flea on her. I explained we were leaving town and wanted her groomed. They charged me over $72. for the dip and the vile on the back of her head that she scratched at for the next two weeks. We live in the high desert and there gave never been fleas in the high desert. So I even researched it to no end and There Are No Fleas in Las Vegas to get on your dogs. The grooming department out right lied to me to get a bigger fee. And there honest manager stuck up for them. I have the wellness plan also for my dog. One year every time I took her in they found something else wrong with her. I felt I was taking her to a bad mechanic. They were for ever pushing special food on her that we could only buy with a prescription. She is healthy because I feed her organic dog food and do take her for her wellness check ups. I have learned to take the extra stuff they try to say she needs with a grain of salt. I guess when they don't sell enough of that high cost of special food they manage to find something wrong with your dog or cat so you make them money. Could that be the reason why vets don't stay at Pet-smart very long? read more

I came in to the store yesterday frustrated with my untrained just adopted pup looking for a crate.. I walk around looking for help and find myself with an employee Flor. She made it a great experience my puppy was nervous in the store she made him feel comfy. I was so unsure wether to get a crate or kennel she explained the benefit of both compared prices and sizes for me.. I had a lot of questions about training, showers and just overall 411 and she answered them all.. I'm sure she spent at least 30 min helping me out not once did I feel rushed and it was close to closing time.. She showed me around for things that would benefit my pup gave me great tips.. In the end I went with a crate! Without me asking she pick up the crate and took it to the register she even offered to take it to my car!! She has great customer service and I hope she is there every time I go! She's awesome. Also as I was walking out the security offered help as well very friendly staff! P.s.
