My dog's favorite place. She loves the big (really big) bones they have. Since she is a Bull Terrier, the bones do get crunched up but they don't give up easily. Be sure to check them for the meatiest ones and for any discoloration. (I did find one spoiled one a few months ago. It had a green color!) I don't hold the bad bone against PetSmart. Stuff happens. They discarded it as soon as I took it up front. PetSmart is a good place for the huge selection of treats. As always, be aware of the prices for the items you are planning to purchase. Don't go to this store. They turned my dog away at grooming claiming it was a cut on his ear. Then they told me they could give him a bath from the neck down. I agreed just for the groomer to say she refuses to do it. I am handicapped and can't bath my dogs my self anymore. they still refused. Horrible customer service snd horrible employees. I have taken my puppy to PetSmart groomers for a few months now and have become decidedly dissatisfied. I have been trying to give them a chance but each visit except the first has been very disappointing. For Example, I have repeatedly ask that they not shave my baby's face so short and they still continue and they don't seem to know how to groom my puppy's hair as it now looks like a butchered job. Trust me, this applies to the various groomers as I have tried different ones. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. Too expensive for a crappy job. read more

I'm a person who doesn't write reviews, but this place deserved the yelp download app. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! The inconsistency is brutal! First it was the vet at Banfeild who could care less about my dog, seriously... wouldn't even TOUCH the dog when being examined. Like, what?!! Just quick to prescribe drugs and make you feel like an idiot when you ask questions. (The vet assistant even agreed with me when he saw how upset I was lol saying "yah, no one likes our vets") After a few chances and upset visits, we now drive 30 min to banfeild with doctors that really love on my pup. As I would still come to this groomer... I leave now for the last time. The groomers are inconsistent with what they can and cannot do. They insist express service & then charge you for it when your dog has an illness. Why should we even be more penalized for her health as if all the med payments each month aren't enough. Just took my dog to get her nails ground. Took two tries, and they're still rough and jagged. They said they can't go do any more, because now it's too close to the quick. The girl who did this had no idea what she was doing. At least I complained and didn't have to pay. But now my poor dog will have to live with sharp, jagged nails until they grow out enough to be fixed!!! read more

Not a big fan of cats and dogs, but I do creep around their small animal section a lot (at least once a month). I like critters. And their small animal section is really nice and clean without stink odors like down the street Petco does. Their staff is nice too. Today I just went in the right time when there's a staff check around the area, clean the cage, and feed the animals. Her name is Jamie I believe. She nicely showed us the newly arrived gerbils and winter white hamster and allowed us to take pictures of them. We also handled the winter white for a little while. I like hamsters, but I don't buy them anymore because most of them are evil and likes to nibble (But they are still adorably cute and I kept all of them till they die for natural causes. I'm used to hamster bites......goddamn). We do ended up taking the boy home today because he's tame and super sweet. I'll be back for the supplies. Hope petsmart will do more specials for small animals like they do with dogs and cats, some items are a little pricey here. read more

We have a 55 gallon fish tank and a new dog! Everyone at this store is always helpful and kind. We had our fur baby get his teeth brushed for the first time (here) by the VERY patient Nicole. My husband and I shop at this particular PetSmart. I was recently there to buy cat food. As I was looking around for a certain little can of flaked dinners I heard a small dog crying her heart out so bad that I couldn't concentrate on what I was looking for. I then saw this sweet tiny missing large amounts of hair female Schnauzer. This poor thing was shaking with fear so bad she did not want to go in there. I went over to her and she was literally trying to climb up her mother's leg to be held. Upon seeing this I said to her, maybe you should go in with her because if she is this scared would you really want your baby going in there alone? God only knows what she encounters from these people and your little girl here is scared shitless for a reason. I said to her little Schnauzer don't worry baby mommy is not leaving you alone. I thought to myself if this little Schnauzer is that scared why the hell would she even entertain the idea of bringing her in there. Something is not right. The young woman who called her to bring in her little Schnauzer did not even say hello to the puppy to make her feel at ease. I would never ever bring any family member on a weekend to any PetSmart 's Banfield Dr.'s or to be groomed. If it was a nice experience for them there, why in the world would a dog literally be shaking with complete fear and crying so hard that it made me cry and not be able to think about shopping. Do not take your pet to their clinic - Banfield. There isn't a sense of real care because the doctors rotate in and out, and it's really just a business more than clinicians who care. The staff in the store itself are nice and helpful so I don't take any points away from them. Just avoid the veterinary clinic at all costs because it will cost you a fortune - not that your pets aren't worth it - but there's no reason to be ripped off. I highly recommend Dr. Bill Horbal @ Southgate Veterinary Clinic in Tamarac. The place isn't fancy or state of the art, but Dr. Bill and his staff are caring, very knowledgeable and thorough. They don't rush you and take all measures to properly diagnose your pet. Prices are discounted and they work with you. They take walk-ins and stay long past the time the office hours are over because they don't turn anyone away. That's what a good vet is all about. read more

The people at banfield are very incompetent and very disrespectful and disorganized starting with there practice manager Taneal. We took our cat to get neutered and they rescheduled us twice the first time around they said they couldn't get our cats blood because he was too aggressive then they called us a day before and said to bring him in the next day at 6am to perform the surgery and that then they would do the blood work then same time at 12:30 we get a phone call from Taneal stating that they were unable to perform the surgery on our cat because he was to aggressive to sedate?? Questions marks raised in my head like what we drop him off at 6am and you call me to give me a lousy excuse then she changed her story and said that because I waited so long to neuter my cat which mind you he's only 2 yrs old his coat was too thick and they couldn't get a catheter in him at this point I'm hearing pure excuses as why my cats surgery was not performed then as I'm asking Taneal questions as in what there telling me doesn't make since she became very rude offensive then she told me the cat was sedated but that they were not going to do the surgery today that we will need to reschedule again?? I asked her a serious of questions she could not answer which she became adjetated and she hungup the phone on me. When I told her I missed a day of work to have my cat neutered she told me that it was my prerogative that I chose not to go well I had I care for my pet I took him in then I wanted to make sure my cat was fine after to care for him after the surgery were pet lovers we love our animals these people are very unprofessional and very insensitive they don't care about our pets there just there for your money I have called corporate and moving forward with my complaint this place is a joke and very incompetent.. read more

Went to Pet Smart yesterday after adopting a new fur baby. Walked to pick up a few necessities and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent help we received. Jamie went beyond and over to help us. She was so knowledgeable with her recommendations and she even helped us with coupons while we checked out. We will definitely be back for all of our pet needs. We we pleased overall.
