I've been taking both my fur babies to Jackie. She does an excellent job with my golden doodle and my little terrier. My golden doodle doodle is prone to seizures. Jackie makes sure we get Shiloh in early in the morning so she doesn't get stressed out which can cause her to seize. She takes her time, is patient,& is amazing with her clientele. Very accommodating and helpful. I am finicky on where my fur babies go especially when getting groomed. read more

I'm very unhappy with my Yorkie cut, I do not believe the groomers there know how to do any other style cuts besides shaving your dog bawled, they offer a demetted service which is false advertising, because they will not take time to fulfill that service, but instead they will wether shaved your dog skin bawled to save themselves time, I will not be back EVER!! read more

Don't waste your time. I went to drop the pup off at 12:30 to be groomed by Carrie - she told me I could pick him up around 6:00 PM. We were not told this on the phone. The grooming salon smelled terrible and the employees looked like they'd rather be someplace else. You can tell the aren't cleaning the stations in between the dogs either. I told Carrie that I'd like to get my dog back because I wasn't comfortable leaving him in their care. She brought him back and took off the leash before I can put on his harness - making it a difficult task. Since I was there I decided to do some quick shopping. When I get to the register - I make eye contact with 4 employees and no one goes to check me out. I left my basket right in the middle of the floor and we left. I'm not valued here and more than happy to take my money to Amazon! :) read more

THIS PLACE WILL SEND YOUR DOG TO THE HOSPITAL. I cant even begin to explain how pissed off I am with this joke of an establishment. My dog Nala was "groomed" at this place. I get my dog back and the poor girl is crying and has her eyes red. I take a closer look and her eye begins to completely shut closed and was bloodshot. I had to rush her to the hospital and after 6 hours, they diagnosed her with a Corneal Ulcer in her right eye. Which is a superficial trauma that was inflicted by mechanical force (by those damn groomers). I called customer support 5 times already and got no solution. MY DOGS NAILS WERENT EVEN CUT. AND SHE STILL SMELLED STINKY. the poor girl pooped on herself she was so terrified. Her tail was between her legs the whole car ride to the hospital. I spoke to the manager and as a typical manager he brushed me off and told me he will speak to the Salon Leader. Which of course would deny any issue that happened because who likes to admit to their mistake???? I want this joke of a company to pay for my Dog's hospital bill and give me a full refund on this attempt of "grooming" they did for Nala. Here are some pictures to reference of my poor dog. The manager at the PetSmart in Matteson Illinois, I think his name was Lenny is fantastic. I made an order on a clearance fish tank it was delivered by DoorDash but was broken in delivery. The manager took care of everything and helped me get the last tank that was available in Illinois and was very nice about everything and went above and beyond to help. read more

I took my Bichon to be groomed and they shaved her down like a rat. There were no attempts to give any type of cut. This is the worse service I've ever seen. They should be shut down. I included a picture of how she looked before going there and one with what they did to her. read more

12/16/22 Took my two furbabies to get groom by a lying $@## groomer who stated she had 10 years of experience. She cut them down like rats they were very uneven and it looks as if she did it on purpose because she may be offended that I ask how many years experience she had. When I picked them up 3 hours later I was met with one of the workers thirsty for me to pay the $126.00 bill. I paid it and once I got back inside the grooming area I was in tears with how she chopped up my Babies. The Salon Mgr Nina Flores who immediately took the action to fully refund my money & tried to even up the bad cut. She was very apologetic and offered to be the only one that groom them going forward. Kudos to you Nina for being an responsible adult that's why your are the Manager but as far as the broad that messed up my babies need to be let go cause 10 yrs experience dont do bad jobs like she did. I'm still going to report her to corporate and if the Mgr Nina dont groom your babies, then don't take them there. Morals are at an all time low and there are so many adults who are mentally ill out here at jobs that deal with the public and have ZERO skills to deal with themselves let alone on a public platform. I brought my dog in for a bath today and Rubi took cared of him and when I went to go pick him up and asked if she cut/trim down his nails she completely ignored me and I asked again if she did his nails and she told me no . I also see that she didn't even bother looking at his ears to clean which In the package says ear cleaning . Then why the fuck am I paying you money in a package that says nail grind and ear cleaning and you did not even care to look ? Laughing my ass off this place is ridiculous. my dog has been to this location multiple times . so they have it on file that my dog has seizures occasionally and is on medicine and I write that when I sign him up for an appointment. none of the questions ask if your dog has had a seizure in the last 24 hours when you are signing in when they ask about vaccinations and medicines. so I show up for the appointment they ask about the seizures and I repeat he has seizures occasionally as in on medicine... he shouldn't have one because he had one yesterday and they tell me they can't bathe him now because of that . And actually it was more than 24 hours and if I didn't say anything they would have taken him no questions . I have never been told that other times that I have dropped him off and I wasted my time to drive over there about 40 minutes round trip and scheduling it on a day that I wanted it done. Why is PetSmart paying #Karen [Kelly], Manager on duty to say, "There is nothing I can do to help you?" Matteson PetSmart what is your protocol for customer service when a manager and groomer is blatantly disrespectful, disregarding and lying about prices and booking? The Manager on duty is overtly rude. #Karen [Kelly] indicated that she had 5 other things to do, suggesting my customer experience wasn't important or valued. She walked away multiple times and failed to listen with empathy and failed to inquire, ask questions or resolve a customer matter. While this is unfolding, Jackie is laughing. 1. Barack receives his signature Mohawk routinely. We walk into the Groomer today and a new groomer, #Karen (Jackie) approaches the counter very disgruntled and starts rattling off about up charges for his Mohawk. Mind you, we were ignored when we first walked in. She never said hello how can I help? I simply asked her to clarify because the website doesn't indicate a Mohawk as an add on and I've never incurred extra fees. I booked Barack's apt online numerous times. If #Karen [Jackie] has issues with a Mohawk, she needs to discuss that with her team and management, not be rude and illegally try and charge customers. Jackie isn't Barack's normal groomer. "It's up to each Groomer, and if they didn't want to charge you, that's on them". My reply, It's not about the chargers ma'am. It's not in your policy, it's not offered on your website, nor is it printed anywhere, to justify your upcharge. Her spirit was so nasty. 2. When I asked to speak to Hannah, the groomer who had serviced Barack prior. She Hannah, acknowledges that #Karen [Jackie ] was frustrated and rude with poor customer service, but she offered to reschedule because "they were booked". At this point I was uncomfortable with leaving Barack with #Karen Jackie. However, Hannah took a turn for the worse when she blatantly lied and says that I was reschedule for July 19th, in false efforts to accommodate. She was covering her coworker #Karen Jackie. If anyone books with PetSmart online, they know you receive an email confirmation instantly. I have receipts. I instantly received an email that said, I had a cancelled apt for the 19th. When I asked for confirmation of my apt, they could not produce it. 3. At this point, I asked to speak to a manager, and The Ultimate #Karen Kelly, rushes not to listen or offer any acknowledgement of the inconvenience and terrible customer service, nor the illegal upcharge and false reschedule. They were just trying to get me out of the store at this point. She said, I don't know about that area". I can't help you with anything. I asked for her name and corporate information. I told her to confirm that I have a rescheduled apt for the 19th of July, she said, "I saw it with my own eyes". I requested that she give me something to confirm the apt because the email is indicating a cancellation. She wrote on paper, with intentional chicken scratch, that I had an apt. She used nicknames and pet names to refer to her district manager. When I called corporate, (customer service) a rep, confirmed that I didn't have a rescheduled apt. I explained to #Karen Kelly, that you don't have to "know the area," to know customer service or basic respect, especially as a manager! They were all sweating nervously and beet red because they couldn't justify any upcharges and lied about the rescheduled apt. A waste of 2 hours! I've been to their old location and their new one. I have to say that the new location is a big improvement over the old place. It's bigger and I feel like I have more room to walk around. I frequent the fish section and it is really well laid out. I can grab what I need and go in little under ten minutes. I also find the older gentleman that works in the fish department is very knowledgeable about fish and accessories. The small animal section is pretty nice too. There was a lady there that was showing a rat to a young kid and it was kind of neat to see that she was willing to pick up the rat and show it to the kid. The rats there also seem to be more docile and curious than other pet stores I've been to. More than likely these rats are bred to be pets and not feeders. In conclusion I'd say that this is a pretty good pet store but if you are looking for a wide variety of fish then check out a fish only store. No sharks or puffers here. Other than that it's a top notch store. 4 out of 5 will visit again read more

Asked for feeders (either rats or mice), and was summarily walked to a freezer. I explained that my snakes will only eat live, and asked if I could purchase a "fancy" rat. I was then treated to a glare and a snide attitude as the employee told me that they would not sell live animals to feed. I have no complaints against the efficiency of the store, but I think it is a little cramped. The aisles are too narrow. The aquariums are too small and dull! The old store had personality. You knew the workers personally and they knew you. They even knew details about your pets and anything that you discussed with them before. I knew the old guy who used to be a Marine, and the kid that looked like he was 10 years old, but what was a teenager. I knew the girl that used to have the long hair, and the lady at the counter with the glasses that always smiling, and always had something pleasant to say. All the staff are incredibly friendly. The dog trainer Tari is so friendly and polite. She is very skilled. I have taken beginner, intermediate, and just signed up for advanced class. Tari will be able to help you train your dog into being a good obedient furr baby. read more

This is really nice, new facility. Everything was easy to find and everyone was very nice to our dog, but we did have a bit of a weird encounter with our sales person. At first, she seemed nice and gave our dog a treat, but then she started kind of acting like a know-it-all with us. She "informed" us that our dog's harness was "on backwards." First of all, that's not possible. Second of all, we've had it and used it for more than a year. Third of all, the woman admitted that she'd never seem a Freedom Harness before, after I'd explained how it works (there are two places to hook the leash- one is at the front, and one is on the back- you can use both or either). And she claimed her ignorance was attributable to the fact that they don't sell that kind of harness in the store. OK, then maybe you should make sure you know what you are talking about before you try to admonish customers! Then, she asked what breed our dog is and I told her what we were told at both the vet's office and the shelter from which we got her. She was like, "Really? Because I think she's X." I said no, that we had no evidence to that effect but that we have been approached by owners who think she might be part Y. She actually told us no way. I mean, aren't you there to just take our money and make sure we find what we're looking for? We already have a licensed vet and I have had dogs all my life. I really don't need the attitude from a cashier at PetSmart! If she thinks she's an expert on harnesses and dog breeds, that's nice but unless she really is, she should not be discussing those things with customers. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. And one thing I have always been taught is to go with your gut. I took my two mix Chihuahuas here. The first visit was "alright" yet quicker than the place I normally take them. So the 1 hour of grooming vs 3 hours of grooming impressed me. The second time, again same mixed feelings. The third time, my daughter picked up on the "lack" of customer services and patience with the dog. In fact she had to tell one of the Groomers not to drag her dog by the leash to the back of the room. There are a lot of young Groomers employed here. In fact I don't think on this visit I noticed anyone over 25. This is not to dismiss their expertise, but I do also feel there is a "lack" of patience when it comes to working with animals. This last visit, one of my dogs came back acting "odd". A day after the visit he was in pain in which I thought was something minor or perhaps an ear infection (due to him going into the cold after the visit to the salon). After about 3 more days of him in obvious pain, I took him to the Vet. Come to find out after a visit with the vet, he was sore in the neck area and was relieved of his pain after a massage and prescribed medication. I'm not going to say that something happened at the salon. But I'm not going to dismiss it either. The one thing that stuck in my mind the entire time is that if a Groomer can drag your dog by the leash in front of you, what will do the when you're not in your presence. Just be mindful this can happen at any place and/or with any Groomer. However, I do think there's a lack of patience for these animals and most of the young workers are there for a check. To be on the safe side, I think I'm going to drive the 45 minutes to my previous Groomer where I haven't had any problems. On a positive note, the cashiers have always been friendly and helpful each time I visited. read more
