I visited your store with the intent to inquire about purchasing one of your jumping spiders. Upon arriving at the live animal section, I searched for an available team member to assist me but was unable to locate one. I then walked to the checkout area and waited in line behind a customer who was completing a transaction. I was the only person in line behind him. While waiting, an older woman approached and attempted to cut the line to ask the cashier a question. I politely but clearly stated that I was in line. She acknowledged me, stepped back, and I proceeded to ask the cashier if someone could come assist me at the jumping spider enclosures. The cashier appeared to radio for assistance via walkie-talkie, and I stepped to the side to wait for a team member to arrive. What followed was unacceptable. While I was patiently waiting, the same cashier then turned his attention back to the woman the same woman I had already addressed and helped her with her inquiry. I then heard him apologize to her, though I am unsure of the reason. He then directed her to go speak with a female employee near the spider enclosures the very same employee I had been waiting for. This meant the woman who had attempted to cut the line ahead of me was now being assisted before me, as a direct result of the cashier's actions. When I recognized what had happened, I asked the cashier directly: "So, did you get someone to help me?" He confirmed that yes, the employee near the spiders was available to assist. I then pointed out that he had just directed the other woman to that same employee. His response was to essentially acknowledge the mistake with a casual "oh yeah," and then he turned away from me to speak to a coworker without offering any apology, any correction, or any further attempt to assist me. At that point, I made the decision to leave the store entirely. I should not have to advocate for myself repeatedly in what should be a basic service interaction. I waited patiently, I communicated respectfully, and I followed the proper process yet I was overlooked and effectively ignored in favor of a customer who had not been in line ahead of me. I want to be clear: this is not about a minor inconvenience. This is about a blatant failure to follow basic customer service protocol, a lack of acknowledgment when the error was pointed out, and a complete absence of any effort to rectify the situation. This experience has left me feeling disrespected and unwilling to return to this location. I had planned to make a purchase that day and am now forced to seek assistance at an alternate location or competitor. read more

Bad experience trying to book a bath haircut online and over the phone. Their own internal show my dog had rabies vaccination but their system she have a new shot. Showed up for the appointment. And their system was down. Wasted no grooming, no apologies.. They made it all my fault. read more

Worst grooming experience. I've taken my dog here for a few years. It was never great, they drew blood clipping a nail but it can happen. This time they put my soaking wet dog in a cage for 45 min because the groomer was late and they were trying to catch up. I have always taken my girl Peaches to Pet Smart for her grooming since she was 3 months old. She is a beautiful Brittany Spaniel! They have always been such a great help for me. Especially back when she was 3 months old and my husband had very this skin at the time and with the slightest touch from her puppy nails would rip his skin wide open! One gal suggested putting on rubber nail tips that they had in many different colors! (this was back in Feb of 2016) What a godsend that was!! Grooming ladies are great- they take care of my dad's dog and do his nails whenever my dad and I bring him in. My problem is with the manager (I'm assuming) who kept wandering around the store and asking if needed help, not recognizing she had just asked us- yet when the register line was 5 deep and a woman was buying 27 individual cans of cat food she just walked by the front and never opened another line!! Maybe help where needed- not just walk around. That would be appreciated. read more

I am just very upset. I have been to Pet Smart Groomers several times, but today I picked up my Labradoodle and she is literally butchered. i shop here frequently for my cats, they have a good selection of toys, food and treats, which i enjoy. only complaint i have is i bought a product from the store and after researching it online found some very bad reviews about how harmful it was to peoples cats/kittens (product shown in photo). its caused lots of cats/kittens to become sick or has been known to kill them as well. id stay away from buying this product, and instead using dawn dish soap, its just as effective and if not more than the flea shampoo. other than that i have had very good experiences with this location, i have brought my kitten into the store and workers were very kind :) read more

Bought some shrimp and guppies (fish) from here a week ago. To start, I had to go up and ask someone for assistance with fish which is usually never the case, The lady assisting me was upset that i was picky about which fish i wanted then proceeded to handle them very poorly when trying to count/ pour them into the bag. After my 5 min car ride, both of my fish where upside down in the bag and i had lost a shrimp already. DO NOT BUY FROM PETSMART, PLEASE GO TO A LOCAL FISH STORE. I have been keeping fish for over 2 years and every single one has died significantly faster than the ones from my local shop. Would give a negative review if possible. My experience here is ALWAYS terrible and the workers in the aquatics department have little to NO experience. read more

Other than crazy, wild dogs that owners can't control, this is a great place to get your pet supplies and even better for advice. We inherited a bearded dragon, a rat, two cats and two guinea pigs when my daughter Kylie passed away in a car accident. Being newbies in the beardie world, the staff here has been amazing with help and teaching us how to care for Bubs. The lady who shampooed, furminated, brushed her teeth and trimmed her nails was great. Kind, helpful and very good with my older nervous dog. Her name was Holly. She gets 5 stars. Unfortunately there was an older lady who looked very angry, grooming a small white dog. She continuously reprimanding the dog for being bad. The dog was scared and fidgeting. The more she reprimanded the dog the more the dog shook. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know. I do know it was unacceptable how whe treated an animal that had no defense. Walked in to get my Aussie's nails trimmed, no appt. necessary. The guy (sorry, didn't get his name) was very skilled at his job, and it only took a few minutes even though they were pretty busy. He worked well with all her squirming, wiggling and trying to lay down. Didn't cut her cuticles at all, and got her nails short again so she isn't skating on the hardwood floors. P.S.... however there was an older female technician at the next station speaking in a passive aggressive manner to someone else's dog, all the while she was snipping the cuticles of that poor dog and making them bleed. : ( One suggestion I do have is to have a poopy bag station in the parking lot. Oops... I forgot to bring a bag when I left the house. However, I did use the bag from my purchase to pick up the dukey. (but a few others did not!) read more

I'm new to having my own pets and this location has been very helpful in assisting us with all of our questions and needs. The store is clean and organized even during Black Friday. Destiny, the lady in fish Is super knowledgeable and often answers questions by using her own experience because she owns multiple tanks. All of the employees I've met here are positive and helpful. Returns have never been an issue despite some of my crazy circumstances. It's best to register for their pet perks thing so in case you loose a receipt you can still return petsmart products. Eric the manager has always been helpful and understanding. This location has by far the best selection of fish and I've been to all of their nearby competitors as well as the Benton harbor and Michigan city locations and this one is the best! My Chihuahua puppy, with extreme separation anxiety, had her first bath today. Because she's so hyper and I'm a new dad, I decided I wanted a pro to do it and Holly is the pro I was hoping for. She got the puppy calmed enough to enjoy the bath and was even able to trim her nails without a fight. My puppy has a new friend and I will schedule with Holly again. Because the puppy was so good, we walked down the toy aisle to pick a new toy. One word of advice to dog owners, NEVER schedule a Saturday appointment, at least not with a small hyper dog, the store was very busy AND it was adopt a pet day so it was very noisy. About Petsmart. They are the only place in the area that offers the food the vet recommended for puppy's first year, the store is always organized and clean, the selection of food and toys and other things is phenomenal and the staff seems to enjoy animals and customers. The prices may be a bit higher, but you get what you pay for. FIVE STARS Petsmart!! read more

Saturday, my mother in-law and her boyfriend took their English Bulldog, Bubba, to get his nailed trimmed at PetSmart in Mishawaka, IN. In what seemed to be an instant, their dog had died. Bubba was a friendly dog, and got a little excited during the grooming process. The workers restrained the dog until he vomited. Even then, the workers did not stop "restraining" him. It wasn't until the dog was unresponsive that the workers took any action. There was no emergency plan, no precautions, no vet on call, and workers were googling the closest emergency vet hospital! By the time Bubba arrived at the emergency vet, it was too late. Bubba had choked on his vomited due to being restrained for a, what should've been, easy and harmless task - trimming his nails. If this isn't enough to infuriate anyone, days later, the family has only received one apology. Even though nothing could make this right, not one employee of PetSmart has made a quick (or barely any) effort to compensate for the suffering that this family has went through. Nothing upsets me more than to see the poor and careless effort that this company has displayed - from the way my family was treated, to the lack of quality in their work, to their lack of compassion. I'm sure that PetSmart employees love animals and want to excel in their services. However, it can never be accomplished in a company with improper training and no emergency plan - that starts with the administration. Regular shopper @ Petsmart with my little dog but will NEVER shop there again! I was preoccupied with the long list of a new fish set up for my grand daughter when walking over to the fish section when a very rude comment came from behind me " your dog peed & there is a clean up station over here for you to take care of that" I didn't turn around & kept shopping thinking they weren't talking to me with that rude tone, & unlikely because I didn't stop for my dog to pee. Standing @ checkout my dog urinated & I wiped it up. My turn @ checkout & the cashier informed me he wouldn't check my items out until I cleaned up the urine!! I said I thought that was rude & left the store. I called to talk to the manager & Chris said he was the manager & he was the one telling me to clean up after my dog. Then told me I ignored him & he knew I saw the dog pee!! He called me a liar!! THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! I want to start by saying this is the first time I have ever written a complaint/bad review about a person or a business. I am writing a complaint about Ashley the Manager of the grooming department in Mishawaka. I brought my dog for her grooming appointment and because I didn't have updated rabies shot record with me, she immediately had a rude attitude. She went on to say I made the online appointed and it told me 3 times the rabies certificate would be needed and basically said we needed to reschedule. When I had a chance to explain, I was extremely annoyed. I told her that I didn't make the appointment, my husband did. It's a snow storm outside and I live 25 min away and she could call my Vet. Finally, I had the attitude and was told, not asked, to leave. I will NEVER set foot in that grooming place again!!!! read more

We took our Standard Poodle here two or three times and I am always pleased with they way PetSmart grooms our dog. I absolutely love the teddy bear facial trim they give him, so adorable! Would not shop again. Looked at all the dead fish and a whole tank of snails on there backs. Told the young woman working that most of the snails looked dead and were on there backs. She said absolutely nothing and walked off. Never righted the snails or cared at all!!! read more

We were new to the area and decided to give them a try just lsat week (on 5/12/15). Upon arriving, the staff didn't greet us promply, but continued their conversations while I stood there. She came over to check us in, and I showed her a picture of what I would like my pet to look like when finished. When I returned, he was COMPLETELY shaved down. I mean, EVERYTHING, GONE! On the form, it stated they shaved him because he was mis-behaving and it was difficult to give him a good haircut, so they shaved him. He looks TERRIBLE. We picked him up and just decided whatever, but we wont go there again. A day or so later, we noticed a large blood blister under his eye. His skin was cut at the groomer and I imagine that our dog probably was scratching it and ripped the skin even more. No one said anything to us about him being cut. Also, the paper stated that his mane "looked like a lion" when we dropped him off. I find this to be very disrespectful and offending. They are unprofessional, did a terrible job, and I will NEVER go there again. There are other places in the area, SEEK THEM OUT! read more
