I tried to board my dogs for 5 days in August 2025 and was told that they are no longer boarding dogs 12 years and older. This policy isn't located anywhere on their website. I honestly feel and believe that they are discriminating against myself and my dogs because they recently stayed for 2 weeks in July 2025 with no issues other than having to put padding on the walls due one of my dogs being blind. I have spent literally thousands of dollars here and have been a loyal respectful customer for years. BEWARE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO ESTABLISH CARE FOR YOUR DOGS WHILE OUT OF TOWN DO NOT USE THEM. THEY MAKE THEIR OWN RULES AND POLICIES AND THEY ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY CUSTOMER/DOG.

There are limited amount of places who will take a non neutered male and I am so glad that this place is one of them. Their boarding process is easy as a new client. Fill out some forms and have your pet's medical records on your phone or documented. CON: THEY DO NOT ALLOW FOR EXTENDED STAYS. I want to leave my pile of fur and claws there for a month, visiting every two weeks and the representative stated that "The best you could do is leave him for two weeks and then take him for two days and then bring him back for another two weeks." Suggestion: I wish they would allow vets to fax over or email over pet medical records. I went to actually check this place out today in person and it seems like there is a lot going on. It definitely feels like it is in a rural part of Lexington, if that makes sense. I do not like the back roads I have to take to get here. Tates Creek also bisects the road to this location, but it is down like two lanes (one coming and one going).

The environment is supportive and fear free, the classes are intentionally small, and the trainers are knowledgeable professionals who truly put the dogs' wellbeing first. They also take the time to explain the "why" behind the training, which has helped me become a better handler and better understand how my dog learns. One thing I especially appreciate is that Manners Matter focuses on building a strong foundation in dog training rather than rushing ahead and setting dogs and their owners up for frustration or failure. That thoughtful approach makes a huge difference and you can clearly see it in the confidence and progress the dogs develop over time. I have a beagle, and scent hounds can be independent thinkers that easily get themselves into trouble without the right structure and training. We dropped her off for just a couple of days while we went on a trip. We explained to them that she had just had surgery a week ago and they promised us they would take special care of her. When we got back to pick her up, it was Horrible. She was soaked in her own Urine and smelled horrible. We had to wear our masks in the car to get her home. The vet had told us to keep her stitches dry and that she could not have a bath for at least another week. We had no choice. We had to bathe her twice so she could come back into the house. She was so pitiful. She did not deserve this treatment. I've never been so upset at a kennel in all my life and we will never take her back there again!!!

It took numerous texts and calls to finally get some girl and her boyfriend to arrive and give us our Mac. I had done a lot of research and had a 40 min call with Christine months before boarding Mac there and we text daily while gone on our trip. She knew this was our and his first time being away from each other and him being boarded and to get my dog back in this condition and he isn't acting like himself at all is just devastating. I would not recommend ever to anyone at all especially for a tiny pup. 0/10.
