This location is our go to PetSmart since 2018. We've only had one less than stellar experience with grooming early on but since then the employees have been great with our excitable golden! Most recently Lindsay did a good job bathing and grooming him while also keeping me updated. Other than that the buying experience is usually no complaints as there's good variety of things we may need. Only negatives are sometimes checkout POS's go down, the buildings a bit run down as it's older, and the fish/bird section just seems so sad with some clinging on to life. read more

I went into pet smart last night to return a halogen golden sun bulb and a red night heat bulb for reptiles with the receipts in my left hand. my boyfriend first came without me and didn't know what to get so left to come pick me up. i walked in with my boyfriend, asked the woman near the fish if we could walk in the cat area to look and she was very polite and told us yes, after looking we walked to the reptile section for me to grab a thermostat to control my under tank heating mat. a bald white man, who did not disclose his name or anything, walked by asking if we needed help. i said no and then my boyfriend asked where to do an exchange, he told us the front counter but then immediately the man's demeanor changed and he said "i know your not returning that though you didn't walk in with it" and SNATCHED IT FROM MY RIGHT HAND!!!!! i was extremely confused and embarrassed because number one, you can look at the receipt and see that it's not there and also won't show on my account when the receipts are scanned and two, i'm a loyal member and have been for almost 5 years nothing like this has ever happened to me. i feeel extremely disrespected and violated for me to be treated this way from a petsmart employee. reviews say that he's done the same to others so it seems that there's a reputation of accusing people of stealing from this specific employee. do better pet smart. read more

Please head my warning and do not bring your dogs here. I have three rescues and my newest rescue is very skittish, and I answered all the questions honestly about his anxiety and nervousness. When Abby took him back, he was calm cooperative. Let her rub on him put the leash on him with zero problems. I advised this the first time he has been groomed and put a muzzle on him to see how he reacts reacts to avoid a possible situation then I get a phone call 15 minutes later. Kourtney had called and stated that they did not muzzle him and that he bit one of the Groomers. This was before they did anything and they were only doing a blowout. I asked why he was not muzzled and they stated they cannot muzzle him the entire time this was not asked at all. It was to assess the situation and protect everyone involved as well as well as my dog. I'm assuming they may matters worse because after they put him in the kennel after this incident transpired, then my dog had an accident in the kennel and they just left him and let him sit in it until we arrived. When we arrived, Kourtney, who I confirmed has no additional training besides being a groomer. Kourtney is not a tech or a vet, was belittling. putting us down and bullying us saying that our dog was an unhealthy weight. My dog was just seen by the vet and my vet had zero concerns. He is an Alaskan husky and they are much smaller than others. This dog was also the runt and as a rescue came from a very sad situation. There was zero reason for this behavior at all. I called to voice my concerns to Jacob who is the covering manager since the manager is on maternity leave. Jacob was clearly biased and sided with staff not listening to my concerns and how an employee placed herself in an unsafe situation that did not need to happen. Jacob consistently repeated that my concern was they stopped grooming and over and over I told him NO! My concern is that the staff did not listen to my concerns and put themselves in an unsafe situation that did not need to happen. That an employee thought it was okay to talk to me that way. Jacob stated although they do not have the education they have years of experience so can just tell when a dog is underweight..... it was literally excuse after excuse with zero accountability. I have filed a complaint with corporate and hope they do not do this to anyone else in the future. read more

Petsmart 2861 Veterans Memorial Pkwy Saint Charles, MO 63303 VERY DISAPPOINTED for services on my Australian Shepherd I've been to this groomer twice, and both experiences were extremely disappointing. The first visit, I paid $78 for a bath and full haircut. While my dog may have received a bath, the haircut was clearly not done. She still had matting behind her ears, clumping hair, and her nails weren't trimmed very well. I was frustrated but didn't complain and took care of the matting myself. Hoping for a better experience, I returned a second time and scheduled a different groomer. This visit was even worse. I paid $93 for a bath, full haircut, and nail grind. While her nails looked good, the haircut was again below subpar. She still has matting behind her ears, and she's shedding clumps of hair as if she wasn't brushed at all. It's incredibly frustrating to pay so much for such shoddy work. read more

I have NEVER been so insulted in my life. I went to Petsmart in St Charles to exchange a dog bed that was torn. I left the defective bed with the cashier at the front of the store. I went to the back of the store, looking for the replacement beds and ran into the store manager, Jacob, who pointed me where the beds were. I decided not to get the replacement, I went back to the register to get a refund and this sorry son of a gun embarrassed me in front of the whole store and said that I did not come in the store with that bed because he didn't see it in my hand in the back and accuse me of STEALING!!! About three months ago, I took Puppy for a groom and it was perfect. Five stars. My only complaint was 1) the tacky PetSmart ribbons they use for hair bows, 2) they don't sear the ends of the ribbons to keep them from fraying, and 3) they don't use a hemostat to put the ribbons in so they come out the next day (which is fine because the ribbons are ugly anyway). When it was time for her next grooming, I took Puppy back to the same store, same groomer. When I picked her up, she looked scraggly. I was SO disappointed. It was a busy Saturday, but I had a scheduled appointment. They had several walk-ins, but that shouldn't have affected my pup. I never even spoke to my groomer the second time, so I'm not sure if she was the one who actually did the work. It wasn't until I got her home that I saw how uneven the work was. I ended up using my Wahl trimmers and smoothing out the cut myself. She's so small, it's not like I needed them to bathe her. She had no mats or tangles. She's raw-fed so her hair is super soft. Easy-peasy. That grooming was a two star job. I'm going to try someplace else next time I need a major trim. For maintenance, I'll just do it myself. read more

Disappointing trip today! I bought a cat toy about two weeks ago, at regular price, for $4.69. Today, I returned it because it fell apart right after we opened it. It's a cute little crawling bug. Sooooo, I look at the shelf for a new one, intending to exchange it and WOW. Same toy, two weeks later is $10.99. What a huge price jump. I guess they thought it would go unnoticed. :( I come here often for cat food and litter, but if this is any indication of additional price increases, I may not be here so often in the near future. read more

Petsmart (#170 Veterans Memorial Pkwy) gets three stars from me, but it's an average. Five stars are for the grooming section of the store. My dog is a princess, and we are very, very careful with her. She's little and scared of big dogs and loud noise. The girls at Petsmart grooming are very gentle with her -- and with us. We've had here there for grooming and in between sessions for toenail clips. They are professional, and very loving and sweet with her. The prices are good, and we are happy with all of the services there - again, I consider it five-star service. Then, there's one-star service for the people who actually work in the store. I have been coming here a long time, since it's really the only large pet store in the area. Most of the time, I know what I want and where it is, and I just go get it. Sometimes, I need some help - that's where the trouble comes in. The fish/cricket department is the worst. There is never anyone there and if there is, they are always doing something else and will not even turn around when you try to get their attention. There have been times when I have just given up and left, and just not purchased whatever it is. The other departments are worse. Just tonight, I needed antibacterial spray for my cat since she has a small rash. I looked online to see what I needed, and checked to make sure that they had it in the store before I went. I couldn't find it on the shelf, so they sent "Courtney" over to help me. She looked on the shelf and said, "I don't see it." Well, yeah, "Courtney," I don't see it, either. That's why I needed you! She then said, "It's probably online only." I said no, I checked, it's here somewhere. "Courtney" said, "Well, I don't really know anything about cat sprays....or cats, really." OK, then. I left. Experienced a very unsafe environment while there with my dog. Multiple owners with dogs on 6ft+ leads untrained and unfriendly. Putting my dog and myself in an unsafe environment. I completed a survey through petsmart that asked about my experience. I was then contacted by a manager to let me know that she has been there for 5 years and her store is always a safe environment. Did you really ask my experience and then call me to tell me I am wrong? I will not return to this location because of that unprofessional phone call. Find a better manager. read more

My mom has brought her dog to this location for grooming for years. Last week she was in the waiting room and was BIT by another customers dog that caused bleeding . PetSmart apologized but honestly the least they could do would be offer a free grooming session. When it happened the dog owner just said "oh he does that sometimes". Please be a responsible human being and put muzzles on your dogs if they are known to be aggressive. read more

Took my dog to get groomed and they butchered her!! I use to take my Shi Tzu to the one in Bridgeton and never had a problem with his cut. I should have cancelled the appointment when I took her in and one girl kept asking another groomer questions on grooming her client (dog). She had to be new and I believe she was the one who butchered my baby! Never again! $50 bucks wasted!!! read more

Great pet smart! I got my hamster and guinea pigs from here. Absolutely amazing. Only thing I do not recommend is to buy SMALL ANIMAL WATER FEEDERS! I have been through the water bottles here so many times. Buying all different ones trying to just hydrate my animals. This is not pet smarts fault, it's whatever the brand these pink, blue, and purple water bottles for the cage is. I hope you guys can fix this problem i'm continuing to worry about my babies. :( read more

I have never written an online review, but after coming home in tears,I felt compelled to warn other dog parents. Do not bring your dog here! Their incompetent groomers butchered my dog! I called last week to book a grooming appointment for our dog. Our regular groomer has been out on medical leave, so I specifically asked if they had groomers who specialize in Great Pyrenees, and was told yes. Dropped my dog off this morning and told them to only cut an inch. They told me she had some matted areas so they may need to go a little shorter on her legs and chest area. I said that was fine but to make sure they didn't shave her. I told them to call me if there were any questions or issues. No one called. Five hours later, I go to pick her up and her ENTIRE body is SHAVED! Some areas you can see uneven razor marks. Spoke to the store manager Angie, who sounded like a teenager, and she was not helpful at all. When I asked why they didn't call me first, she could not give me an answer. Groomers should be familiar with all breeds of dogs, if not then don't say you specialize in a particular breed. If they were familiar with Great Pyrenees,they would know they need their coats for cooling and protection. They have put my big girl in danger. She can no longer go outside for very long, and this is a dog who loves to be outside. I can't even apply dog sunscreen because it will mat up her coat. I have left a message with the District Manager; I'm waiting to see if he calls me back. read more

This review is for grooming. I have been bringing my two labs here for a couple of years. I do bathing, nails and the furminator. The bathing is always good. My dogs hate nail grooming so success is hit or miss. But that is because of my dogs. The only inconsistency is with the furminator. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's terrible. I decided to start doing it myself instead. My friend recommended that I request Amber. She was awesome! My dogs have never felt so sleek and smooth. Petsmart grooming got my business back because of Amber. Great work Amber! read more
