A few months ago, when I was just a tiny 4 month old pup, my parents brought me here for some basic training and it couldn't have worked out any better. You see, I was extremely shy to people and other doggies back then. My dad entered me into the basic class instead of the initial puppy class, because he saw my potential. I just needed to be with some older dogs and it worked. After my 2nd class, I was already coming out of my shell and started to play with the other doggies. By the time graduation came in week 6, I was already the top performer, or at least that is what my mum said. I quickly realized that the classes were for my parents as much as for me. We figured out how to communicate including the basic sit, down, come, leave it and walking on a leash without pulling for starters. The best thing about the classes are that you can get endless treats. Once you figure this out, doing tricks for my humans is not only fun, but tasty, too. Trainers are good, have great patience and offer makeup classes if a conflict arises. Add in the fact that the store has a wide variety of food and snacks and it became the highlight of my week. Come in and try it, and if you are on your best behavior, you might even walk away with a fluffy toy like my yellow chicken. It's great for tossing around during my nightly zoomies. read more

My first experience a few weeks ago was great. I went in to get her a nail trim. The staff dubbed "cat whisperer" did her nails. We were a walk in. They take appointments for other services like baths etc, but nails are a walk in service. He did a really great job as it was her first trim so she also did a really great job also. I could see she wasn't stressed so I was excited to bring her back today. But today...I walk in just after 9 and wait my turn only to be told there's no one to do nails until 10. I'm walking in so I guess I could have accepted that. But she let the "cat whisperer" know I was there for a trim and he says "I don't do cats". It was very dismissive. I mouth to her, "he did it last time". She says, "he doesn't do them anymore". Ok, cool. Maybe there was an accident that he no longer does them. Maybe he was promoted from "nail trim" to "washer of the animals" only. I'm not even lowering my review because of him because honestly, after today, I wouldn't want him to anymore. If you're going to have walk in as an option, there should be someone there to handle walk ins - no matter the service. I bought something just so it wasn't a wasted trip. Basically, we (child & pet - do you know the energy that takes - jk) left the house in the rain for nothing. Just a consideration, put the times for walk ins when any service available on your website. Or! Allow us to schedule on the website cat nail trim appointments only. Hung around, went back in at 10 and again for no reason. They can't see her because the nail person, they're backed up. Ok. Just allow us to schedule so the customer doesn't waste their time. My first experience was excellent with the groomers. They let me drop off the dog early and called when he was done. Four trips later, it took a turn. I was stuck in traffic and got there late. The groomer was in front but working on another dog. A different one got the paperwork ready and said he'd be taken back in a bit. About 15 minutes later I asked if I should come back or reschedule. I was late, after all. They said no, went to check and was told "she forgot". The male groomer comes to take my dog back, he looks at my paperwork and says "he's not a beagle". Right, my dog is a boxer beagle mix. He said, "oh, ok" with an obvious FU tone. He says 3-4 hours for pick up. I get a call less than an hour later. I work near downtown, I had a pickup later on for a family member and then to pick up the dog. As I'm heading over there, I get a call from a very cheerful Elise (could be Elisa) asking when I'm coming. I said on my way, 15-20 minutes. Ok, well, we're going to charge you 10 dollars because he's been there close to 5 hours. Wrong. She agreed not to after explaining to her what was said. I get there and she comes out for those dropping off and then asks if I'm picking up, I said yes, told her my dogs name and then she says she needs to talk to me. She talked to me about picking up late, then said since my dog is not a beagles again boxer beagle mix, they would be classifying him as a Staffordshire terrier, because he is easily double the size of a beagle. Again, he is a boxer beagle mix, not a beagle. And I would also be charged $5 more going forward. So, basically, the dog is not a staffy, he's a boxer beagle but because he is not the size of a beagle, he'll get classified as a staffy. I told her it was a rough day with, explained the reasons, got a half hearted apology and then tells me she needs me to go pay. No, mija, I paid online. She gets my dog and tells him "don't pull" in a tense voice. Got my dog and left. read more

My dog has a fungal infection and I took him there to be looked at because I have the insurance plan with Banfield. With the insurance J spent more than $1000 on shampoos and testing. They told use to give him two baths a week for the next few weeks and we did it. He never got better, but he did get worse. I had to take him to another vet that cost me more than $500 to get him treated with antibiotics. If you are looking for a place to give shots Banfield is for you. If your dog is sick DONT go there. I had My Dog Sarge in Boarding here from 09-17-25 (Evening) and I picked up on 09-20-25, NEVER AGAIN! My dog sarge is on a Very strict feeding schedule with very expensive dog food! I took the right amount of food for him to eat 2x a day for the entire stay! Once on the 17th -dinner Twice on the 18th - breakfast and dinner Twice on the 19th- breakfast and dinner Once one the 20th- just breakfast I dropped off just enough food (measurements) for 7 feedings I picked him up to his food container full!!! DANGEROUS GROOMING PRACTICES. This place shaves dogs such as golden retrievers who have double coats. This is a dangerous practice because double coats protect dogs from the elements and allow them to properly regulate their temperature. Shaving a dog with a double coat directly impacts their ability to cool down when they are hot, and stay warm when they are cold. They have done this to us TWICE now without our permission. We specifically ask for bathing, nail trim, and tooth brushing, and we DO NOT AUTHORIZE any hair cutting. They continue to do it anyways. We will never be back. It's obvious that they use a BUZZER (not scissors, as should be used in Goldens) as you can literally see the lines from the buzzer in the sun. It's ham-handed and terrible looking. My dog does not even look like a golden retriever anymore, she looks like a yellow lab. Her hocks and her mane were completely removed. Even from an aesthetic perspective, the AKC standard is to keep them long and brush them. Not totally shave them off. I am active in the dog rescue community and I will be telling the rescues, trainers, fosters, and adopters that I work with to NEVER get their dogs groomed at petsmart. They do not respect owners' wishes, and they clearly do not know how to safely groom breeds with double coats. "He did great!" was what I was told when I picked him up from his $22 Pawdicure. $346 is what it cost me to have my dog treated today by the vet because the bather/Pawdicure girl sliced his pad open this past weekend and did a poor patch job to hide it. We didn't know why he was limping, and the vet initially said he may have just gotten into some spiky plants or twigs in the flower beds (he never goes in there but we thought maybe he did and we didn't see it), but the vet discovered it during her examination - a clipper cut and poor patch-up. Hello, I am a very long time customer at this location and have always had pleasant interactions with staff members there. Today, however, was an exception. I went in to the store today with my dog to buy cat food and cat treats for the cat I have at home. Everything was going well until I reached the register. The woman at the register proceeded to comment on my purchase. She turned to my dog and loudly said "oh! Momma isn't getting YOU anything? Not even ONE treat that's only 89 cents?" I proceeded to tell her that he had everything he needed at home and let her feed my dog three treats. She ended her causal conversation with my dog with "Well, looks like nothing for you! She's getting you nothing! I'LL just give you treats since your MOM isn't getting you ANYTHING poor guy." All of this quite loudly. I have never in the years of going there had any cashier comment on the items I was or was not buying. I also certainly have never been shamed for not buying something for my pet. I felt so disrespected that I walked back in the store and told the cashier that I did not appreciate her comments. I explained that I understood if she only meant it as a joke of some sort, but she doesn't know what my financial situation is at home, she doesn't know what I do or don't do for my pets outside of the store, and it wasn't anyone's business what I was or was not purchasing. She listened to me with a succession of eye rolls and smirks. I asked her if she was going to apologize and she said "hmmm no? I mean, I was just talking to your dog so why would I apologize. I guess I'm sorry that YOU took it that way." And laughed at me. I asked to speak to her manager, and with the biggest eye roll of the afternoon she called up Alex the MOD to come out. Alex was great. She listened to my concerns and understood why I felt disrespected and apologized on behalf of the cashier. She assured me it would not happen again. I have been in the service industry myself for over 11 years, so I approached the situation how I would want anyone at my place of work to come to me regarding a concern or complaint. On the flip side I still am baffled at the behavior, comments, complete inability to take responsibility for her actions, and lack of empathy that came out of this cashier. I can't believe I am here again- I feel so stupid that I ever even went back to petsmart after my last post of my dog being cut at the grooming salon. Today my dog, same dog in previous pictures- an 8 1/2 lb havanese was attacked in the lobby of the grooming salon during check in. The other dog was on the grooming table and unattended - the leash was loose and the dog got off the table and slipped through the leash, ran through the swinging doors and attacked my dog. It took the groomer that was checking us in and myself to get the dog off of my dog which my 9 year old son was holding on the leash still as the groomer was changing to their leash. Too upset to type much more right now but stay far far away/ I feel like not only my dogs life was in jeopardy but my sons life as well. What a traumatic experience. I will NEVER step foot in a petsmart again and be sure to tell anyone I know that owns a pet about my experience. read more

We have used this Petsmart off and on for years. WE don't use the grooming, vet or day care here, just for the products. This store is very clean considering dogs are always allowed inside. This trip was to pick up a few items we needed quickly for a new dog we adopted on Christmas eve. They have a wide range of toys, foods, leashes , harnesses, beds, everything you can think of and more. Being able to take you dog in is a plus as it helps with socialization of your pet. They are a little on the higher priced side for most every product but everything is in one store so no driving around. My only issue is they never have more than one register open even when the line gets fairly long. read more

I worked at petsmart years ago and had to call more than one person to tell them their animal died in our care so I understand the responsibility and frankly, the liability. Our dog (13) was just seen by the vet(banfield btw) and has had multiple stays at the Bitters location but the folks in the pet hotel apparently have training and expertise the banfield vets don't have. With less than 3 weeks to go until our trip they call us and say we have to bring our dog in to be evaluated by staff before her stay and of course, said she was showing too many signs of stress and cancelled out reservation. Took her over to the bitters location and they booked her right away. If you're not a fan of last minute cancellations, stay away. read more

They say you can give over the phone confirmation of vaccinations. Yet no one bothered calling me to confirm. The day I'm getting married and running errands they cancel and tell me that they cannot take him in. Again, no one from this place bothered to call for confirmation. Also the last time I took both of my dogs in, they failed to clean both their ears, and cut both of their nails. This is not their first time being groomed so I KNOW that they were not being too fussy to get their nails cut. Just over all, unprofessional and unorganized. read more

I took my puppy to get a simple bath and brush. Angie, the grooming host, was incredibly unfriendly and rough in greeting my puppy. I was asking questions before the servicing and Angie was sarcastic and snappy with her responses. This initial interaction cause my puppy to get scared and Angie lassoed my puppy with the temporary leash and dragged my puppy causing her eyes to get red and she began to resist. I love this PetSmart so much! Every employee I have encountered has been extremely helpful and so kind. The main reason for my 5/5 is SARAH! She is absolutely amazing. She is the dog trainer there and is spectacular at what she does. I have my pup in her training class and she is so detailed with what needs to be done as far as homework away from the class itself. Every time I take my Fionna to get a treat at PetSmart, I run into her and she is always so excited to see my pup. Not to mention, her dog is absolutely adorable as well. The one thing I will never let me dog do here again is get her bath and nail grinding. I had an extremely awful experience more than once with the grooming staff as well as my puppy never wanting to go back there. I would not recommend the pet grooming at this location. I have taken my dog here a few times in the past. And never had to much of a issue with them until now. When I took her here the last time, the groomers were rough with my dog getting her in the back...( which right there should have told me not to leave her..)And she came back with two obviously visible places where they cut her. And one having to be where she urinates.. I noticed this after I already got home and she was potting , after she was done with her business. She laid on the floor and cried. I turned her over and noticed she was cut or nicked on her genitals. Not to mention she was growling and trying to snap at me.(which is very unusual for her...)I called the next morning and they told me to come in so they could examine her and take her to the vet if necessary. When I arrived to show them they took her back and to look at her just to tell me that they didn't do it. And that she was possibly getting a UTI from "stress " as I told them I was not falling for that due to the fact she has never gotten one in the 4 years or the fact she was completely fine before I brought her in to get groomed.The manager started to get really rude and ugly with us. I have never witnessed such a unprofessional work place with a rude manager in the pet salon. I honestly wouldn't even step foot back into the store just for how they let these employees treat customers . I took my dog in for her usual haircut and she came back with a hack job! It looks like they took a weed eater to her and went crazy. It's hard to see in the pics but her fur is choppy and uneven and gouged. She doesn't move AT ALL when getting her hair cut so I don't know what the problem was. The stylist either needs to be retrained or let go. My poor dog has patches of hair that are totally uneven. If I wanted her to have this bad of a hair cut I would've saved myself the $63 and done it myself. What a waste of money. The only thing that looks good is her back end. Brought our dog here, booked online & showed up to an overbooked and overwhelmed staff. Paid for the deluxe service and was told they had too many pets and the 1-2 hours they originally promised would be 3+. Showed up for pickup and paid $70 for my dog to be still wet, unbrushed and traumatized. Pretty sure he was bathed and thrown in a cage for most of the 3 hours. We will absolutely never return. What started as a very unpleasant experience turned into excellent customer service. My initial interaction with a service agent, Sam, was rude, disappointing and aloof. I had asked for assistance with finding the right collar for my pup and during the interaction, it was met with rudeness and borderline disrespectful. It was very obvious this agent did not have a spirit of helpfulness. Coaching on helping customers was definitely needed. Just when I was getting ready to walk out the store and go to another pet store, Alex emerged. Her demeanor was pleasant, kind, helpful and observant. I told her what I needed and she helped me get exactly what I needed. Because of her pleasant interaction, I purchased a second collar and treats for my pup. She took her time to explain differences in treats and helped me choose the right treat for my pup who has a food sensitivity. I greatly appreciated her and told her I was grateful for her help. She was very knowledgeable and helped me make the right purchases. Alex demonstrated excellent customer service skills and showed a high level of emotional intelligence. Sam on the other hand needs coaching on greeting and helping customers. If customers experience the treatment she gave, they will walk out the store and definitely go to a competitor. Our dog had a front paw that needed its nail trimmed. Told them on the phone that the dog had a limp, they said no problem they will trim. We arrive and without even touching the paw they said they could not touch because of their policy, what policy ? They did not mention the day before ? Quoted a price at the pet hotel and the day our flight was leaving we were dropping of the dogs and we were told a price that was $200 over the quote! Had to use them because we didn't have another option. Then got my dogs back and one had raw spots on his snout and his nose was cracked and bleeding. I know dogs get stressed and don't eat as much but my Corso list enough weight to see ribs. Never going here again. I honestly don't even trust that they had the playtime I paid for. The women that was going to groom my dog had an attitude from the very start, it wS an 8:00am appointment and it was not her day. She gave me an attitude when I explained the my day had anti-anxiety medication as he is very nervous about a haircut. She told me she could not cut my dogs hair because of his meds. She told me (didn't explian) that this was a Petsmart policy and she couldn't do anything for me. Her vet is with Banfield, her clothes and toys are from there, we are even doing obedience training there soon. That being said, the manager Angie at the groomers there is a piece of work! She was totally rude, unhelpful, and told me to look online for the answers wit the questions I was asking before she hung up! She is totally unprofessional and talked about puppies "freaking out." People like that should not be managers, and definitely not be working with innocent animals. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but my neighbor and another buddy both told me how rude she is and that nobody has listened to their complaints about her.
