If I rate this a one star I would.. my sister took her dog to go get groomed for his first time and when she went to go pick him up, they told her that they couldn't even cut his hair cause he kept trying to snap at them as it was his first time getting a haircut and he was nervous ..and they still charged her full price even though they didn't even do anything at all with the dog. They gave her attitude ..sometimes I don't know why people like that are in customer service jobs. They could've gave her like a coupon for half off next time. Went in last night around 8:40pm I bought a Nextstar flea and tick for kittens 3 months supply. Box was damage so it was 25% off. When getting home I noticed 1 was missing and they charged my card $31.99. Regular price was $35.99 25% off should have been 26.99. These idiots must not know what 25% is. To make long story short I live in Ontario so if I go back to get my money that is owned to me, I lose out on money for gas so I'm screwed. I've been coming here for several years now, mostly just dropping by after the gym. I like to check up on the birds and monitor their health because it's clear staff doesn't care to look after them beyond switching their litter and refilling their food and water -- which to their credit they do pretty well as the enclosures are always sufficiently clean. I understand policies are corporate decisions, but the neglect at this particular location has gotten out of hand... I wanted to write this review today to bring attention to the female cockatiel that has been here since late March/early April. I've watched her grow increasingly aggressive, no doubt a hormonal issue, now further exacerbated by a new fluffy hanging den they put in. The soft enclosure will encourage her to nest and become more territorial. Who will purchase her when even approaching the glass is enough for her to launch herself at you trying to bite your face off? The conures are a tragedy too. Their price has gone up so much, now $750 plus tax, that they are rarely sold. For reference, a responsibly bred GCC with health clearances is like $200, although you can rescue for much less. I knew a conure who was there for over 6 months. They are housed separately because Petsmart will not DNA test for sex, so after a month or two they're covered in pin feathers they can't reach. One appeared to be having a medical issue with bald spots around his head, and the salesperson laughed and told me he was just born like that, which was strange and not very believable?? They aren't aggressive but they are definitely undersocialized and desperate for attention. Their flight feathers are clipped so short that the majority I've seen struggle to move around their enclosures and cannot confidently get down from their perches even if they want to. They preferentially hang upside down from the wire grate on the top, which has paint chipping off of it. I doubt the white paint is bird-safe, but they bite at it all the time. I don't know why they're clipped because unlike a few other much better locations the staff doesn't remove them from their cages, like for example, after hours to be able to socialize and be handled. The manager did tell me that the birds are NEVER handled no matter the length of time they're there, which of course only makes an already challenging companion animal a thousand times harder to live with... Parrots are sociable and extremely intelligent animals. I understand Petsmart will continue to sell them, but I believe more of an effort can be made by employees to ensure that they are at least kept in good health and minimally socialized. read more

Petsmart in San Bernardino Grooming. Is very terrible I would Never refer anyone or Family member to go there. They really did a bad job on my dog. I can understand people that work there might be so Tierd but if so don't work on anyone animals and say that we shouldn't complaint when they do things wrong to your pet. But I want to thank the grooming Department their Excellence on taking care of our loving pets ,and having the patients to care & groom our pet just rite . The dog trainer has a dog in heat in the training area. Not a good idea. Constantly screaming STOP. (Golden retriever wearing a diaper). Should not even be in the store. Dogs in heat set other Dogs off it's pretty plain and simple. Second she was talking about Elon musk and politics. Not a good look this is not the place. Keep your politics at home. 3rd the girl helping with the fish / crickets took her Sweet time finishing cleaning a tank before helping me. Idk who is managing this place but definitely needs some boundaries set. read more

I went in and bought some fish hoping for them to be healthy like the ones I get from other PetSmart locations but the fish were sick and ended up spreading this sickness so some of my other fish leading to multiple deaths in my tank don't buy fish from this location not all pet smarts are the same this particular location doesn't care for the quality of the fish tanks and there water is always disgusting gave it a try once and I have regretted it sense it also has made me nervous to buy any aquatics from any other pet smarts locations now so that's great just hope I can help others from the same fate read more

Took my dog in for a bath and cut. Received a call a short time later to pick up my dog because she was too stressed. Panting and hot. I explained that I had had my dog there in the past and there have been no issues even though the dog acted exactly the same she gets stressed. When I get there the tech tells me the "vet" (Banfield) next door said she had a "fever" and her heart was "racing" the dog was stressed and not to groom her. I said really, that's my dog's vet (Banfield) they just gave her a wellness check 6 months ago and gave her a clean bill of health. The tech said well our policy is that if the vet says she's too ill to be groomed we can't groom her. My thought is if my dog was that ill why didn't MY VET treat her? They know I have doggie insurance. I won't be back to Petsmart for grooming, supplies or vet services. read more

It is a shame that I am leaving a one star review. I would leave 0 but the system doesn't allow that. Seems their policies doesn't care for all. I brought in my cat for grooming. But her medical cards could not be approved. I explained my cat now cannot use the restroom because her fur is overgrown. This happened because of all previous groomers cancelling on me last minute. He's going to be on edge a little. The groomers job is to keep dogs calm. Instead the gentlemen showed fear and my dog was on edge. Needless to say, the guy refused service. Today my husband had a very uncomfortable and confusing encounter at the groomer today. In the past 5 years that we have been taking our dog nothing like this has happened before. We an appointment for our to be groomed and as usual, the grooming employee told me the appointment would run about 1- 1 1/2 hours. I took off, and within 10-15 mins I was called back to pickup our dog immediately. This employee was rude and seemed to not have any compassion for my pet, nor for any pet. The reason the employee gave me, was because he was "acting too stressed, and whinnying". I couldn't do pick him up, and tried to see if any other family members could pick him up, and nothing. I ended up driving back to pick our dog up right away. To my surprise when I arrived, our dog had been released to a stranger. The employee could not tell me who she released my dog to, or what the name of the person was. The employee showed absolutely no empathy towards my dog or the situation, on the other hand, was rude and dismissive. I am so disappointed by the service and the way things were handled. I will no longer be taking my dog there and I will make sure I let all of my friends and family know of the horrible experience I had, as well how insensitive, and cold the grooming employees are at the San Bernardino store. I hope that I am the last person who receives this type of treatment and that no pet owner has to go through this. read more

My wife and I always have taken our pets to Banfield. We are happy with them. But Petsmart store on Hospitality in Riverside has a big issue. For weeks now their restroom has been closed. When we asked first they said that it was because the homeless were using it. Then some employees were nice to let us use it. God bless those employees. Now they say that the restroom has plumbing issues. It's been like this for weeks and weeks and has not been fixed? Petsmart corporate office should be embarrassed that this is happening in one of their stores. This is a violation of the AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA). People that are older or has medical issues cannot hold it while waiting long period of time for the Vet. This store lost our business and we hope that corporate takes care of it asap. We came in for some feeder fish right before closing yesterday july 4th. The manager was super nice and got us the fish. One of the fish looked a little stunned and she offered to get us another one. (We had come from another pet store in redlands where we couldn't even buy feeder fish or any small fish become they were all sick and in the do not sell tank) Thanks to the nice ladies on the closing shift. Was very impressed with Yoncy and Robin. I work with 2 different rescues and picked up two different dogs at Devore animal shelter. When I picked up the second dog they told me I needed a hard shell crate out of no where. The rescue and I frantically tried to find a hard shell crate and finally found one at this location. I drove straight over as I was in a rush cause I needed to be back before they closed. We called in the Order and Yoncy came out and said she couldn't find it. She was very helpful when I explained the situation and immediately dropped everything to assist me with grabbing the crate so I can get out of there and go save that dog. We couldn't find the right size so she had me grab another one that worked perfectly and had Robin assist is exchanging the online order for the new crate. If I didn't live so far I would always be coming here. Thank you Robin and Yoncy you were a huge part in saving a dogs life today. read more

They have the worst customer service due to management. They tell you to check inventory online. You check and see they have what you need, drive to their location to find out they are actually out of stock because they don't know how to control their inventory. They tell you to do curb side orders because they are more likely to help you over the phone for inventory well that is still false. All the stores that have the dog food I need are 30+ miles away. For them checking to see if they have an item on a shelf would make it easier to be a customer of theirs. Oh! And customer service over the phone...? Forget about it! They don't answer. Super unhappy with the service provided by the grooming department today. My appointment was at 11, I showed up right on time but waited 25 minutes in the lobby for someone to finally help me. I get a call at 450 stating my dog is ready and when I show up, she's still wet and still has dirt on her face! I mention it to the groomer who brought her out to me and she kindly offered to dry her off more but dang. What a half assed job by the bather. No bandana. No cologne. $63 for a job my 12 year old could have done. I have been coming to PetSmart grooming for YEARS with several pets. 50/50 on if I'll come back. My complaint - Petsmart San Bernardino store. I made a purchase on 8-18-23 and returned merchandise the same day 8-18-23. When I got to the store I told the cashier that I wanted cash back - she rudely replied just put your debit card in and you'll get a refund. Terrible customer service! I still haven't received my refund and my bank said it's the Merchant Petsmart that has to release the funds. I spoke with corporate and was given a different answer that the policy for debit card refund is if you have the receipt-cashier should give back refund in cash which I wasn't given that option according to Petsmart's policy. This whole situation has caused me great distress mentally and physically! Buyer be ware! Do not shop at Petsmart in San Bernardino - you get rude cashiers/customer service!
