GROOMING REVIEW: While living in San Diego for the past year, I've been visiting different petsmart grooming locations, to find one that my dog LOVES. She's a very anxious dog and gets so scared being at the groomers. Yesterday I finally checked out the pacific beach location since they had the best availability that fit my current schedule... but I will 1000% make sure to continue going to this location, exclusively. I booked with Jayna but I have to admit all of the staff was eager and BEYOND helpful. Since my dog is a nervous wreck, they did mention that her session would take a little longer than most because they don't want to stress her out and let her get comfortable, which was so so reassuring to hear. It's hard to explain but i truly felt like they cared for her and all of the other dogs in the salon, like their own. My boyfriend came with me to grab our dog, and even he mentioned how loving and patient they were with the dogs. At the previous locations we've visited over the year, we always have great customer service and communication, but this location really had LOVE in their work.

PetsMart has always been the best grooming. They train their groomers to a high standard. I go to this one and in Texas. I have spent too much on private groomers and they never take the time and tenderness that PetsMart does.

My dog and I love coming to this PetSmart, and we both love love love the grooming salon! Today was our first appointment at the salon. Our stylist Courtney walked up us while we were outside and immediately started to get to know my dog. My dog is an obscure breed (Coton de Tulear) and Courtney was familiar with them. They have a particular kind of hair that is difficult to manage. Courtney knew immediately how to treat it and how to trim it. When I came back a few hours later my dog was beautifully coiffed and so happy. Courtney told me how everything went and I was a happy and satisfied customer. This salon has great hours and is located in a convenient location. I love how I can drop my dog off at the salon and do my pet shopping at the same time. The workers are nice and caring and they absolutely love animals. I don't think I could find a more caring or attentive groomer if I tried. I will definitely come back.

Grooming review! Long time coming. I've gone to Petsmart for about a year. They really listen to my want and needs for the cut and they do a great job! Isabella did so good highly recommend. They will take the extra 20-30 mins ($$) to dematt and brush as well. I've had groomers in the past who just shave their entire body instead of taking the time to get the matts out. I really appreciate it!

    After.

This review is for grooming. Do I really need to say more here? I brought in a tiny matted polar bear and left with an elated spunky lamb. And this dog is a 16 yr old adoptee just tryin to catch a break. And it was July 4th when they groomed her which frankly seems like a lot to ask to have one animal transformed into another in like two hours on a holiday when everybody would prefer BBQing. So grateful. Great job ladies!!! Ya nailed it!

This review is long overdue! I've been taking my miniature schnauzer to this grooming site for the past few years. Courtney B is the best at grooming schnauzers! I've struggled finding a good groomer who can handle my dog and cut his hair correctly to the specific schnauzer cut. I'm very particular about his hair style and Courtney gets it right every single time. If you have a schnauzer, take them to Courtney B!

Absolutely mortified by the haircut they gave my dog. I give them 2 stars because her chin was matted. But I could have done a better job myself at cutting them out and her not looking like a completely different dog! Will never go back here. I would have called me before doing this. At least even her body out a little bit. Do not try to save money by going here. Find a real groomer.

"do you want to see nick?!" She was doing her excitement whine and her little happy dance - nick in grooming is THE BEST!

"Boot camp" options seemed extreme, so I called Bark Busters (BB), seeking in-home private lessons. Justin responded the same day I left a message, and we talked about my concerns with our new rescue. I decided to try the BB program, which ended up being the BEST DECISION for my pup and for me! Justin set up our first session with trainer/coach James. James spent much of the 1st session going through the goals, objectives and concepts of training, including a timeline based on reasonable expectations of my dog. James spent a lot of time explaining how to "read" my dog's behavior, and how to properly respond. He explained the concepts behind each step, which helped me to understand not just what to do, but why (thus enabling me to understand how to deploy the training to different situations). James also set up scenarios to practice, going through each step so I could gain confidence in what my role is while helping my dog settle. It really is about training the owner how to work with the dog. James provided summaries of each session, plus videos demonstrating how I can use different responses/techniques to reshape how my dog reacts to stressful situations. I saw significant progress very early in the training, and was surprised at how quickly we were able to help my dog understand his role (and to feel safe) in our home. The best part is that if I need more help, I just have to reach out to James/BB and schedule more sessions - this is included in the initial program. Given that it takes a rescue dog a while to COMPLETELY settle in, new issues could arise as time passes, and if so, all I have to do is call to set it up. In summary, Bark Busters is a GREAT dog training program, and James is a FANTASTIC BB trainer/coach! Definitely recommend BB to owners that want help with their dogs!

He took the time to really understand Cowboy's personality and our specific goals. We're currently focusing on preventing "door dashing," improving basic obedience, and walking nicely on a leash -- and we're already seeing major progress! One of the things I appreciate most is Fernando's flexibility with in-home scheduling. It's made the training process so much more manageable for our family. He explains everything clearly and always gives us practical tools and homework that are easy to follow between sessions. Cowboy is responding so well to Fernando's calm, consistent approach, and we feel much more confident as dog owners thanks to his guidance. Are they under new ownership? What has changed?…read more We've used Camp Run-A-Mutt several times over the years for overnight boarding and have always had a great experience, which is why this recent stay was so surprising. When making the reservation, I noticed that a few of my dog's vaccinations would expire during his stay. We took care of getting them updated weeks in advance and made sure the vaccination certificates were sent to Camp Run-A-Mutt. I even confirmed with a staff member at the front desk that they had received everything and that my dog was all set for his stay. A few days before our trip, I received a call saying my dog was missing vaccinations. I asked which ones, and of course they were the very vaccinations we had already updated and submitted. I explained that they had the records, the employee put me on hold, then came back and confirmed everything was in order and said they'd see him on Thursday. Then things got even more frustrating. On Thursday, as I was landing in another state for my vacation, my daughter--who was dropping my dog off before catching her own flight--called me in a panic. She was being told they couldn't accept him because his rabies vaccine wasn't up to date. I immediately called the facility and explained that we had already confirmed his records twice. The employee put me on hold, checked the records, and sure enough, they had his current rabies certificate the entire time. They admitted everything was up to date and accepted him. A few days later, while we were still out of state, I received another call saying my dog was being quarantined and separated from the other dogs because his vaccinations supposedly weren't current. At this point, this was the third time in less than a week that the exact same issue had come up. I again explained that his vaccinations were current and that their staff had already confirmed this multiple times. The employee put me on hold and never came back to the phone. Thankfully, my daughter was only a few hours away and was able to rush over and pick him up. When I called to pay for his stay over the phone and let them know he was being picked up, I was initially told they couldn't accept payment over the phone. That was confusing because I've paid over the phone for previous stays without any issue. When I asked if it was a new policy, the employee admitted it wasn't--they just didn't know how to process a phone payment. They had to get someone else to help before I was finally able to pay. I'm honestly not sure what's changed, but the organization and communication were completely different from the excellent service we've received in the past. The repeated confusion over vaccination records--which they already had on file and repeatedly confirmed--caused unnecessary stress while my family was traveling out of state and ultimately resulted in our dog being removed from daycare and picked up early. We've always been happy with Camp Run-A-Mutt, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope this was just an isolated breakdown in communication, but based on our recent experience, I no longer feel confident leaving my dog there.
