Horrible customer service in the grooming/nail section. I came in at 730pm (they're suppose to be open till 9pm) and they said they were closing but they would give my dog a nail trim. I thought it was odd they were closing so early but they said it was due to short staffing when there weren't many dogs coming in they have the OPTION to close early. The woman said my rabies shot certificate was expired in July. Well they never told me anything last time ( I was there in july) and she is current on shots so I didnt even think about it. I literally live around the block 5 minutes max and I asked if I could grab her records and come right back. I told the woman it would take me less than 10 minutes. She got upset and threw her hands down and said "Fine!". I could tell she was pissed so I said nvm and left. I didnt want her to be mad while holding a grinder to my dogs toes and hurt her. I felt it was very unprofessional. First off they're supposed to be there till 9pm I get closing early but an hour and a half? Then get pissed off because someone asked if they could stay 10 minutes later when they're already closing an hour and a half early. It just didnt sit right with me, I wont be returning. read more

Finally a Petsmart with people who actually know something about fish!!! So refreshing

Used to like this place. My dog was always well groomed and smelled great. But not this last time (April 2014). Favorite employees gone, dog smelled so so, and developed a rash a few days later. Brushing was minimal and I had to take the dog fo the vet afterwards because they had not expressed the anal glands. Cost me $100 extra at the vet. Won't go there again until the reviews get better. read more

Overall, had a decent experience dealing with the vet and their staff. However, twice I was checked out by a cashier by the name of Ana, a heavy set girl covered with tattoos. It is incredible how rude and inappropriate one can be operating a cash register. read more

This is for the grooming department. We have been taking our female Chihuahua there with no problems for a long time.. We will never go back. We had an appointment for full service on a Saturday morning. Got there and I was told we only had a haircut scheduled and that was all that they could do, I indicated that I know what we had scheduled and it was for the whole nine yards. I asked if they could schedule it in. All I got was a bunch of clerks talking among them selves confused. We left and that's that for us and their groomers. read more

I will never go back to the grooming salon here. Called to make an appointment and they told me to bring my dog in 5/26 @ 2. Changed my day around to make sure my dog could get in. I get there and the lady tells me they don't see an appointment for my dog. I told her I literally called two days ago. She then says let me see who made the appointment. I stand around for 20 or so minutes while the three groomers are talking amongst themselves about their day and what not. Nothing was getting figured out for my appointment, no apology, no attempt to reschedule. I just walked out. Horrible customer service. Didn't feel comfortable leaving my dog anyways after the lady was complaining about how much she had to do. read more

I shop here for dog food and at times accessories. While waiting to be cashed out I observed a black poodle being groomed. The groomer was excessively yelling at the poodle. She grabbed his face aggressively several times. I would never take my own here. read more

the star they get is for ANSWERING THE PHONE because thats all they did ! waited on hold for 35 min just to see if they would ever pick back up.. (folding a ton of laundry allows for such nonsense) ....NOPE, called back & the snakky girl that answered " I dont understand what your problem is ? I only go to this location because it is on my way home from work. The prices are in the normal range for this type of store. The store is usually clean. They have a great selection of fish and birds. I have a cat and a dog and buy most of their supplies at this location. The store usually only has one register open no matter how long the line is. Some of the employees are great, friendly and very helpful. Others not so much. The last time i was in the store (which was a couple of weeks ago) I need a new name tag for my dog. I asked which ones were suited to hook onto a collar for a large dog (the hooks are different for the dog tags and for the larger collars). The associate stated that they should all be the same and work, knowing that this was not correct, I had to stand there and open up each one until I found one that had the right connector, meanwhile I was holding up the line. I personally think that the associtates should know the details of the products that they are selling, not just tell you that they are all the same or any of them should work! read more

This review is for the grooming salon. Thomas does a great job! I have been bringing my dog here for years and have never been disappointed. Thomas is very gentle and kind with her. My dog is normally very scared of people, and though she is never eager to be groomed, she isn't fearful and when I pick her up, she is always happy. I am very protective of Lady and I am always comfortable leaving her in the care of Thomas. read more

I have had hit or miss grooming here UNTIL I was scheduled with Nicole. My dog squeals and cries getting her nails ground and nicole is very calm and gentle. Today, I dropped both my terriers off for wash/cut/nails. One is very nervous and I was praying I had Nicole. Nicole did both (somehow I got lucky). I needed them ready for my wedding photos:) They look amazing. The cut is perfect on both. Their feet are totally cleaned up even on the bottom between the pads. Eyes and ears are clean and tails are trimmed not buzzed! Not a hair out of place and I know they are in good hands because I've watched Nicole several times and she has a calm personality and I know even if they fight she won't get impatient with them. Schedule with her and you won't be disappointed! read more

Every time, without fail, I walk in just to get some crickets and it ends up being a 15-20 minute ordeal. The staff here is a bunch of high school dropouts making out with each other when I'm clearly standing 3 feet away from them, waiting to get my crickets. If they're not making out with each other, they're off in the distance--within view though--just standing around, eating and laughing with 2-3 other coworkers while you wait. If you don't see anyone around, don't bother going up to their only checker to ask for assistance with the crickets because they won't actually page someone over, they will just resume their personal phone call with their lover after you walk away. I'm a pretty patient person and I certainly don't expect them to come running to my aid when I walk in to the store, but it's so disrespectful to make a customer watch and wait while you finish flirting with your coworker. The only reason I don't go to PetCo is because for some reason their crickets chirp insanely loud at night and I end up having to go put them in the other room and shut the door at like 1am! Lol. This review don't apply to Banfield though! Banfield is amazing! read more

I came in hoping to adopt a cat and found exactly what I was looking for. After about 5 different employees passed us by several times within the span of 45min one gentlemen finally decided to ask if we needed some help or had any questions. We let him know that we were interested in adopting and were told that the adoption volunteers would be in shortly. We waited until 3:30pm, filled out an adoption application, and wrote down our information as well as the cat that we were interested in after waiting patiently for about 2 hours. We finally figured that the volunteer adoption employees were probably not coming in so we decided to just give it a try the next time that they were supposed to be in, which would be two days later. We called the store twice within within the time period that the adoption volunteers were supposed to be in on that day (2:00 - 5:00), and were told by Petsmart employees that nobody had came in so we could not adopt on that day. We came in the following day knowing that the adoption volunteers would not be in but just to see the cat that we wanted to adopt and even went out of our way to purchase it a bed, food, toys, and a scratching pole. When we showed up the cat was gone, the sign was down, and there was no sign of "Fluff". A store vendor approached us and asked if we had any questions, far more attentive than any of the other employees, he redirected us to a Petsmart employee who had "Absolutely no idea as to what might have happened to the cat". We thought it was odd due to the fact that the day before there was an employee who was off the clock and had a similar interest as us in adopting the same cat. While in the store, wondering where Fluff had gone, we found her social security microchip card, which convinced us that the Petsmart employees were not only being sketchy, but lying. We called the adoption company, Heading Home Rescue, and the lady that I spoke with confirmed that one of the managers had placed the cat on hold and adopted it. My girlfriend and I were there before this manager who was off the clock, we wrote our information down before her, and showed interest in adopting the car before her. So it's very upsetting that a place like Petsmart would pull something like that, very unprofessional for cats to just disappear and be adopted when the adoption agency is not even in. At least be upfront and honest with your guests. Both the vendor, and the Heading Home Rescue employees that I spoke to stated that this Petsmart was not very good at many things, especially addressing the needs of it's customers, and apparently even the manager does her part in doing sketchy and dishonest moves. I would also suggest training your employees (including all managers) some customer service skills (especially communication and honesty), it might earn you another star. read more
