First picture is my dog the day before his haircut. Second picture is the haircut we asked for. The last picture is how our dog was returned to us. He is so patchy and his hair is so short. We did not ask for him to be shaved down like this and when we picked him up, they barely spoke to us. Previously we took him to Petco and the groomers would always explain things like matting or how his behavior was during the appointments, the lack of communication at Petsmart was very disappointing. While waiting we overheard another customer returning because their dog's haircut was also patchy and shaved down on the head when he wanted it to be fluffy. I would not recommend this location if you want a specific haircut rather than a shaved down style. read more

I have been shopping here for about 17 years. The customer service gets worse and worse every single year. I should mention I'm in my 40s and my very first job was Petsmart in the Arizona and they used to themselves on customer service and we used to give it. As a customer and over the last few years as a DoorDash driver picking up orders, I can tell you the way the associates speak to you. It's as if you're bothering them which is quite strange since they are being paid to help you. This particular store is definitely less friendly than the newer store in surprise but it does seem to be a company issue. I think I'll avoid coming here as a customer and to do door dash deliveries. Nobody says hello and really displays an energy that is quite difficult to stay positive with. read more

I am beyond angry about what was done to my 7-month-old Shih Tzu at this PetSmart. She is a BABY. Her eyelashes were long, noticeable, and one of her defining features, and I clearly told them not to touch them. They ignored me completely and chopped them off anyway. This was not an accident. This was not a misunderstanding. This was straight-up disrespect for a direct instruction from the owner. If you can't follow something that simple, you should not be trusted with animals at all. On top of that, the way she was treated felt rough and careless. When I picked her up, she was visibly uncomfortable and not acting like herself. Any groomer with patience and basic compassion knows how to handle a young puppy clearly, no one here does. Her lashes are gone, her face is changed, and the trust I had is completely broken. I regret ever bringing her here. Do not bring your dog here if you value their appearance, comfort, or safety. This place should not be grooming puppies. read more

Not sure why all the bad reviews , but we had a great experience. Was looking for someone to cut our kitty Zeus's nails because for the life of us, we cannot and don't want our eyes clawed out either!! We Made a call and spoke to a very friendly gal and booked an apt and alls that was needed was proof of updated rabies vaccine .. Took less than 5 min and $15 later nicely cut nails. $84 for grooming a kitten that didn't include too much, plus the chest right below the neck of my cat was still greasy when I brought him home. Ended up giving my cat a bath and bonded new trust with him. It worked out. But I am truly disappointed in the grooming services that spell febreeze spritzing and petting your animal like a daycare that lasts for 1 hour... 1 hour for $84. I can get an MVP treatment at sports clips with a hot towel on the face for about $40, be offered a drink on the way out. Learned a valuable lesson today, somethings are better done yourself than being taken advantage of by desperate people in desperate businesses. read more

I took my beautiful ragamuffin cat to PetSmart at Prasada today at 11 am explained to the cat groomer how I wanted her trimmed she said it would take 3 hours. I went back 3 hours later and my cat was in the air dryer. 5 hours later I went back again. I wanted to see my cat and they wouldn't allow me. I had the manager and the groomer manager meet with me over the length of time it took. The groomer confronted me in a defensive way because I was concerned and upset. All I got was her defensive attitude and extreme rudeness still not having the opportunity to see what the groomer did in 5 hours. I became very upset by the continued confrontation. In the heated moment words were said and she invited me to the parking lot after she got off work. I'm 68 years old and threatened me physically. I've reported this to the corporate PetSmart for investigation. They still charged me the full price and the grooming was horrible. My cat was still wet coming home after 5 hours. They sell products...they should not discriminate against clients.. but they do.... My pets require a prescription dog food that sits in their shelf. I have purchased many times in the past. Now, all of a sudden, they demand I get the prescription from their in-house vet. I guess because their vets are losing c,Kent's due to lack of knowledge. I have a bonafide prescription from my vet of many years. HOWEVER, they will not sell it to me unless I get a prescription from their in-house vet, Banfield, which is run by all 12 year olds who know nothing. This is definitely discrimination. read more

Two weeks ago I bought 8 tetras. 6 have since died. When I was in the store today there was a sign on the tetra tank that said "Do not sell." I asked an employee why and she said that a lot of them had been dying so they decided not to sell them. I asked them for a store credit for the 6 I had that died and was told I could not get one unless I brought the dead ones in. I explained that I had flushed the dead ones and was only asking for a credit because they obviously knew something was wrong with the tetras. The store manager said there was nothing they could do without the dead fish because they had no way of knowing if I was telling the truth. Extremely BAD customer service PetSmart. Shame on you for accusing a regular customer of lying, especially when you already knew there was a problem with these fish. read more

The groomer Samson listened to every detail, asked age-appropriate questions and shared his own experience (having a 14 yo dog at home) with utmost integrity and compassion. He groomed my dog to pure adorability! My well-groomed dog was returned to me promptly within 2 hours happy and prancing radiating his happiness at time of my arrival radiating a well nurtured time with groomer. I thought I had reviewed this location before. Weird, but anyway today we originally came in to start the process of getting fish my daughter is wanting. Then it happened. She fell in love with a baby bearded dragon. So after talking it over with a very knowledgeable woman that not only had owned one before, but worked there as well she decided to purchase one. She also showed us the size tank he would need for when he is full grown. We also made sure to get the right foods and assortments of trees/wood so he ca play and get closer to the heat lamps when he wants. We never felt rushed and left feeling very confident on how to care for him properly. The tank was easy to set up and looks so cool in her room. I was even the first one to hold him while putting him into his new pad. Great experience today. read more

Love the instant gratification of walking in a store and conveniently picking up dog food and it being in stock. For some reason some items are less expensive to order online to pick up in store than shopping within the store so if you need to purchase a lot of items or high dollar items place an order online for in store pick up and see if you can save. I have to be careful in pet stores as my love for animals can get me in trouble and if I am not careful I could easily end up with a zoo. Now that I am older for some reason I cry easily at the loss of an animal. Even a fish. I was thinking about getting the girls a beta to spoil for their bedroom. Over $100 to cry over a fish I decided to pass. Plus I am trying to get out of the house so more responsibility isn't thr best idea right now. They were spoiling the dogs getting groomed today which was nice to see and some dogs were in a training class as well we watch a few minutes. I've had not one, not 2, but three separate occasions this year that make me HATE bringing my dog to this grooming... 1- no one calls to let me know my dog is finished for her grooming. Then when I ask when was she finished, "I don't know." 2- because employees in the grooming are more concerned with their significant other waiting for them in the area, or joking around and just not even acknowledging the fact that I am upset about the fact that no one calls 3- then being told that they can't find my dog in the back?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME PETSMART? My family works for your corporate offices for YEARS YOUR EMPLOYEES IN THE GROOMING DEPARTMENT FLAT OUT SUCK! I've been taking my dog here for the past year. While they typically do an alright job on cuts and nails, they are AWFUL about honoring appointments. Every appointment day I get calls requesting to move our appointment up. I work and can rarely pause meetings to answer their calls let alone stop what I'm doing to bring my pup in early. Today was a new low. I received a call from a non-local phone number I could not answer because I was in a meeting. A message was left advising that my dog's assigned groomer called out and my appointment will need to be rescheduled or canceled. When I called back 20 minutes later their phone lines weren't working. It's frustrating to make an appointment that works for our schedule only for it to rarely be honored. For the price, I recommend supporting a local groomer. read more

The Surprise store's manager, chunky woman, is rude and condescending. I have been buying my little Yorkie food there for over five years and today this manager would not give me credit for a $10 coupon off of $50 order. Because you had to order on line. I could have ordered it in the store but couldn't pick it up. So they lost a $60 order of food for an idiot decision by this manager. The most ridiculous decision I have ever seen. So beware Most of the cashiers are friendly only this manager needs a new job which requires less personality!!! read more

I lived in Yuma for several years and Kingman before that. So, I have experience with 3 different Pet Smart stores. The tropical fish departments in those two stores were exemplary in customer service and in tank cleanliness, fish variety and pricing. However, my experience with the Bell Road store in Surprise is quite different. The attitude of the employees sucks. They seem to have "attitude" about doing their job. Their tanks were just plain nasty, lots of dead fish and overrun with snails. I submitted a crummy review and got a call from a manager. He didn't really express any remorse for his staff's "attitude" or for the crappy tropical fish department. He seemed more interested in getting a better review. So, it's obvious, to me, that he is the problem. I will not step foot in that store again for any reason. read more

Grooming.....go somewhere else! We paid $100 to get our Malshi groomed and it looked just terrible. I didn't have the heart to complain about the young girl that cut him but it was absolutely awful, especially for the price. Completely unravel and patchy. Also, he as shaky and acting weird the next couple of days. I am guessing he got hurt or something happened that shouldn't have. Sad because he can't tell us what's wrong. He looks ridiculous but at least it will grow. For that price, go somewhere else. read more

The store lead/manager Kate was awesome! There was a problem with a 75 gallon aquarium my wife ordered through the online store and had delivered to the Surprise location. This review is for the Banfield pet hospital located in the Surprise Petsmart. I brought my 14 year old dog in and was encouraged to purchase a plan that would give me discounts for visits, etc. it was $51.95 per month. I purchased it, believing it would be helpful as Kelly would need more care in the coming months. A few months later Kelly passed and I continued to have the money taken from my account. Thinking it was a mistake I contacted them and explained Kelly was dead and I no longer needed the plan. It was then I learned that it was a contract I signed and even the death of the dog wouldn't release me from it, so they continued to take the money every month. It's shameful that the staff sold me the plan, having an old dog with medical issues, and the binding contract asset was not even mentioned. I was too trusting and didn't read the fine print but I just want to let others know about this practice. read more

I never seen him shake this much and he got traumatized. I also notice that he has blue and red skin. I don't mind they charge twice. Only if you do your job. I can't believe this. I'm so sick of bringing my dog here for grooming and they never cut his nails. They state he gets stressed and asked for me to bring a cone or muzzle and when I did they said they only use their own. When I picked my dog up, they still didn't cut his nails. I'm done paying for a service they don't provide. read more

We purchased a new aquarium, to add to the other two we already have. We went to PetSmart to buy some fish (we had a gift card...normally we would go to an actual pet store) and the sales associate was horrible. She didn't ask what our experience was or if we knew what we were doing. She just started screeching at us about the amount of fish out tank could hold. This is why we avoid places like this. I didn't have the greatest experience when I went a few months ago. They were overbooked and it was pretty much chaos. They told me it was going to take at least three hours before she would be done. I have a short haired Chihuahua and so I wasn't even getting her haircut. It was just the bath and nail cutting etc. that was being done. After three hours they still hadn't called me so I finally just went in. They weren't sure if she was done or not because the people that did her were on break or lunch. So they had to track them down to find out that she was done but yet it didn't even look like her nails were cut. I've had great luck at other Petsmart but I won't be going back back to this one. read more
