Usually a good value. Checked in 7 minutes early before the appointment, but after 1 hour 40 minutes, our puppy's wash and cut wasn't done. Was called not more than a few minutes later. Picked her up, left a hefty tip and Christmas bonus, took her home -- and my partner discovered that only 1/2 of her trim was not done. For the second time we took our mini schnauzer in for a haircut and this time she came out totally shaved. Even her paws and tail. I told the gal I wanted her ears left and then do a cute puppy cut on her. We never got a call like they claimed they did the last time which was not true to say she needed to be shaved as we would have come and picked her up and taken her somewhere else. Our first time at primp and proper, the groomer was in a hurry, didn't do what I asked her to do. Wanted short hair on feet, she gave me long hair on feet!... poor customer service. 2nd time, took my babies and again, a groomer grabbed the leashes and took my babies.. I was trying to tell her to be careful cause my baby has arthritis. At pick up, they charged me 5 bucks extra for each dog cause they said they were extremely matted. They were Not! The boots the previous groomer left on my dogs did get very tangled, but that was thier fault not mine! Never going back. Ben taking my dog here for a couple of years until the other day when i called about the last hair cut. When i started to tell her i wasn't happy with the hair cut she immediately got defensive about it but what made it worse was instead of asking what was wrong or telling me to bring her in so she could fix it she said I've been cutting hair for twenty years and i take offense to that plus after bringing my dog there for the past 2 years she said you can take your dog somewhere else and hung up. I've never actually been one to leave reviews but this one cannot be ignored. And unfortunately not option for 0 stars... We've been going to this groomers for a year and have been pretty happy with the services. I always pre book appts as it gets filled up. I've never been late and always pick up on time as well. My dog had an appt today at 12:15p, or so I had thought and put in my calendar. I parked right in front at 12:10 and let my dog potty on the side and walked in at 12:11 casually, thinking I was a few min early. Butchie (the groomer) was waiting at the front and asked if this appt was for Chloe and then proceeded to tell me he was going to charge me a late fee. I was so confused so I showed him my phone calendar that I had 12:15 to which his response was I was lying bc they never schedule that way. He went even further to tell me that he didn't want to deal with "this drama" and threw my dogs toothbrush my direction and said he wouldn't move forward with services. He then took it EVEN further to tell me at 12:15 that since I'm now 15min late, he has to officially cancel and that I can leave the store!!!! There were 2 other customers in there at the time who also witnessed all of this. In fact, one waited for me in the parking lot as she was in shock he spoke to me that way and that I was so calm. She said she's been there for 6 years and will now be going back to her location at sun city west as that was " too much BS" for her to handle. If this doesn't give you a glimpse into how they can treat you, good luck and find out yourself. I dare you to be a few min late and hear the wrath of this awful human Butchie sitting on his soap box smh The owner Tia was out sick today so another employee called her personal phone for me and informed her that I'm requesting a phone call back so hopefully she will bc she also needs to know what type of employee she has working for her. read more

Amazing!! I was recommended this groomer from someone at Petsmart and I'm so glad I listened. Took my 5mo old mini schnauzer for his first cut. I took my dog to them yesterday afternoon. After getting home, my dog laid around all afternoon and evening and she could not hardly walk. She acted like she had been drugged. I called the owner the next day and asked what drug they had given her. The owner said that they had not given her any drugs because it is illegal. I don't know what they did to my little eleven pound dog, but she sure had some kind of traumatic experience. I will not be going back to this groomer. read more

I hesitate to write this but after reading other comments felt I should share my experience. my two 9 year old schnauzers have been groomed by Tia or her staff their entire lives and I was very happy. I always have every month an early 7 am appointment and have most times been early, never late and never missed an appointment. a couple weeks ago I received at call at approximately 7:05 am asking me where I was that I had an appointment. I immediately said oh I'm so sorry I forgot and I will be right there. I was told at least 3 times if you are not here by 7:15 you will be charged a late fee and your appointment canceled. I again said I'm on my way and apologized.I got there at 7:14 and expected Tia to say I new something was wrong as you have never been late and I would tell her how sorry I was. instead Tia proceeded to lecture me about being late and handed me a late policy to sign stating I won't change you this time but I will next time. I was so upset I'm sure I said somethings I should not of. Anyway long story short I got a call from Tia to come get my dogs and told me never to come back. 9 years of being an excellent client every month and one time I forgot but still made it on time . Tia has no loyalty to long time clients and was very rude and disrespectful. I have fortunately found another amazing groomer and will be one of her regular best clients. First time to Primp & Proper Dog Grooming with my TT. They did a fantastic job and really listened to the type of cut that I wanted for my dog. The team is courteous and fast! The actual salon is very nice and you can see the "stalls" for the dogs through the glass window. Very nice they don't put dogs in crates! You can also watch the dogs being groomed through the glass windows. Highly recommend! read more

I left my husky at a pet resort for about a month while I was out of the country where he jumped in the pool what I would imagine was everyday and he got matted unfortunately due to his long coat :/ when I called to make my appointment I explained this and they said we can get him fixed up for you no problem! Which I was very grateful for however when I dropped off I was greeted by a super rude groomer (Rachel I believe) who ran her fingers through his coat and was pretty confident he would get fixed up which again super grateful for. However about an hour into his appointment I got a call saying "his fur is so bad it's beyond saving I could shave it" if his fur was so bad past saving wouldn't you be able to tell right from the drop off ? She claimed to try everything which I don't really believe based off her bad attitude. Shaving a husky's coat is not a thing any groomer should recommend. I just told her I would pick him up after his bath. When I did she was EXTREMELY unprofessional saying all sort of back handed comments and saying that he had "brush burn" even though very obviously no one had brushed him while I was gone hence the matts which makes me think she caused these "brush burns" another problem I had was when I picked him up from his doggie hotel I had made a vet appointment to get his shots updated where they did a full body exam a week before my grooming appointment and when I picked up she said his ears had bled because "he had an awful ear infection and she did all she could but his ears were just awful" in which she gave me hella attitude apparently she knows more than a vet because I went to one after super concerned where they told me his ears were ok which makes me think she made his ears bled and tried to blame it on a so called ear infection....even with these rude unprofessional comments I still paid for the services and tipped 20% because it's the right thing to do no matter the horrible attitude given. However when I put my dog in the car I caught a glimpse of his behind and was so shocked someone would do this to someone else dog if ur gonna shave his behind like that at least make it evenly shaved.... my dog and my experience there was horrid I considered asking for a refund but honestly I want nothing to do with them after this just thought I'd let people know there standard here if you have a big hard to manage dog don't come here they really don't care about your pet or you as a customer... if I owned this place I'd get rid of Rachel for her lack of professionalism because everyone else was kind and professional but she stuck out like a sore thumb.... read more

I have an extremely fearful rescue that I have had to have a Mobil groomer who allowed me to stay in the van with her while she was groomed. She would bite out of fear. Tia assured me she would be fine at her salon and an hour later I came back to a clean groomed dog! This is be my groomer forever. Anyone who can groom her is aces with me! I used to take my dog to PetSmart (and have tried a few other places with short notice before), but after they clipped my dogs dew claw too short, and it costing me $500 in a mini surgery to fix, I vowed never to take her there again. I read Google reviews, and called to schedule an appointment. They were able to take her the same day, so I dropped her off and was expecting to get a call in five hours as I was used to it being a long time, (but it made me very uncomfortable to always have to wait that long). I explained what I needed done, and they said ok, we know exactly what to do. Two hours later I was called and said Harlow was done. She got her nails carefully clipped, a bath (and smelled GREAT), and her hair trimmed. She even got a super cute strawberry vine bandana that I later turned into a babushka for my Frenchie, Olivia. I can't remember the name of the guy who groomed Harlow, but he did a great job; especially for never meeting her before, or knowing what she looked like right after she's groomed. For the person who gave the bad review below, I could tell by how it was written how that went down. What a shame- this business is awesome!
