Every time I walk in here there is a line 20 people deep and one cashier working. When are they gonna realize they need more cashiers

I am very disappointed with Petsmart's grooming. I took my cat who has been groomed before and has not had a problem in the past. When I brought her in I said she was nervous with new people. In the back I heard barking and howling from other dogs. She said it would take 3 hours.I just wanted a trim and bath. Within half an hour they called to tell me she was so terrified they could not bathe her. However within that half hour they did gave her a haircut! What the heck were they going to do with 2.5 hours left! Then they said despite not being able to bathe her it was going to be $83. The groomer was nice and apologetic but still never going back there again! read more

I have had nothing but good experiences here. Their puppy trainer Charlie is amazing, their grooming staff does an excellent job, especially with my nervous Boston's nails, and bathing; and their Doggie Day Camp is amazing! My dog runs to the back of the store when she knows she is going to day camp. The best part is that we were out of town, and I was able to board my dog in the Henderson, Nevada PetSmart! All they had to do was transfer over records from the Torrance store! Thank you PetSmart for such a wonderful experience overall! read more

This is my first time bringing my two dogs to sleep over. First off when you call their call center in another state. I was told the dogs were going to stay in a suite. Well that's false they were in a kennel. The customer service guy stated that the suites have been sold out for over a month and that the call center doesn't know what they are booking. I had no choice but to say yes to the kennel. The other thing is I paid for a bath and that was a crappy bath that they gave them. They don't clean their face or even brush afterwards. I was surprised when they told me this. I was not happy how my two boys was treated. These guys are my family and I surely hate that I brought them to this crappy place. I gave them a 0 because I thought the price was great. Other than that I don't reccomend or even go to this place again. That was my dogs face when they said they gave him a bath. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Someone is always greeting you when you enter their store and at least one or two people will be asking if you need assistance with anything. I started coming to this PetSmart when my mother added a new sibling to the bunch...my baby brother, Blue. We initially came here to grab food, puppy pads, and anything else we needed. It had been years since we had a dog, let alone a puppy, so we didn't remember what we needed to get. The staff was very helpful, greeting us upon entering and asking what our needs were. They were happy to have someone walk around with us and "introduce" the store to us. We told them how we had just got a puppy and they were very knowledgeable in what we needed to get. Their suggestions weren't way off; talking us into buying things that we didn't need, but rather spot on. They warned us about certain things to look out for with a new puppy and also asked which breed of animal we had and gave us even more tips. They had a nice "newbie" package that included a training session, coupons, and other goodies. We signed Blue up for an introductory training class with Jimmy. He was very knowledgeable and patient, especially since I for one thought that we were for sure going to get kicked out, because Blue would not settle down. He was so excited to be with other pups and all he ever wants to do is play. At the moment, he is a happy and healthy 8 month old German Shepherd and he attends their daycare program three times per week. He is usually pulling me in the mornings to hurry and walk him in once we get there. It's funny, because some dogs need to be dragged in and he looks at them like, "Duuuuude, what's your problem?? We're going to PARRR-TAYYY today!" ...And he literally does. All of the daycare attendants know him and his excitement and one girl told me that Blue gets the party started everyday...when other dogs are just sitting or laying there and don't want to play, Blue has the ability to get everyone up, running around and playing. So if you have a large dog that comes home and passes out, chances are they partied with Blue, today. In all, we have had a great experience at this location. They have a large selection of toys and everyday that I pick Blue up from "school," he wants to go down the toy aisle and grab something to take home...giving me those "Puss 'N Boots" (from Shrek) eyes and then I'm like, "Dammit, how can I say no?!" I only wish that they would rotate the rooms and have the big dogs in one of the front rooms, so that you could see them from the store, too. They said that they only keep the little dogs in the front. I also wish that you could go to the back and actually see your dog in the environment. Unfortunately, they don't allow that and your stuck staring at a little TV screen in the reception area, as it jumps from room to room. It's annoying because it jumps to the next room so quick that you don't even get a chance to make out your dog in their room and by the time that you do, it's already moved again and your dog has shot across to the other side of the room, so you have to zero in on their location, again when it changes. My other gripe is that I wish they would come up with some kind of daycare package, especially for animals that come regularly. Blue and many of his friends come several times a week. We pay a daily rate of $23, which I think is a true bargain when I have those terrifying flashbacks of daycare costs for my kids when they were little! Plus, you have the peace of mind that your pet is occupied and happy, not home tearing your house or backyard a new one. You do get a free day after the tenth day, but I wish they sold money-saving or perk-filled packages for those of us who use them regularly. read more

I ordered food from PetSmart.com twice this week and each time they emailed me on the day it was to arrive that they had to cancel my order because it was unavailable. Why would I try ordering a 3rd time?! I called their customer service and they could only apologize (because this is how they typically operate so there's nothing that can be done). I'll not be using Pet Smart again. There are plenty of other options. I would suggest to you that you buy food from Global Pet Food Outlet on Normandie. I would have done that first but needed it delivered this time. read more

Elisha from the Banfield is amazing! She was able to last-minute get our pup in for a required hotel vaccine. She has helped us with a prior pup and has always been friendly and professional. Our doggie Mr. Pockets had a great first time at the hotel!! Shannon was friendly and professional too, along with the new girl that checked us out of the system. All staff members kindly tolerated my multiple calls to make sure our doggie was doing alright (it was his first time away from us for a few days.) I highly recommend this location. Pet smart is located on the corner of Hawthorne Blvd & Sepulveda. It's connected to a shopping strip with the old toys r us, Walmart .. etc. I came in to get something for my dog to help her with dry skin. They had pet adoptions for dogs and cats outside by the front door. When I went inside I was instantly greeted and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she guided me to the isle. She went through all the products and even gave her opinion on what went well for her pooch. I was so impressed. I grabbed what I needed and was out the door. I always get the best help here. I love how no matter how busy this place gets.. its clean. Great visit and pretty reasonably priced. This location is my favorite. I come here for all of my pets. read more

Ollie came in for a bath/brush--site says $33 for this particular location. When I picked him up it was $38 because "we charge $5 more on Friday, Saturday and Sunday." It doesn't say this on the Petsmart site in the grooming section--I even looked for small print or (*) marks. That was annoying. It would be nice to have costs up front and not be surprised by extra fees that they decided to tack on without letting the public know. My dog came back clean as expected but with the cost and tip it was a pricey $44 for just a bath/brush. read more

I took my seven month old multi-Pooh here to get a bath after he was neutered two weeks ago and they refused to give him a bath even though I made an appointment. They said it was because his scab of his neuter wasn't fully healed which I understand but then we asked for a bang trim and the girl who was there gave him The worst bang trim ever we just wanted it over a bit shorter because he couldn't see but she like chopped it like a kid chop the hair of a doll I will never take my dogs here again for grooming specifically read more

Is it just me but the prices on everything here has gone up overnight. Not sure what's going on but during a time when the state is in slow motion and people are losing jobs you would think prices that change would go down not up. Some of us don't like spending an arm and a leg for a couple bags of dog food. Let's not raise prices for pet food. read more

The only update I have to report is that I finally know the name of the wonderful employee who always helps me out. Her name is Rosalie and she's awesome. Extremely professional and polite. She takes her job seriously. Any time I need help or have a question, she'll physically take me to see a product or find someone else who can assist me. She's so friendly and I always go in her line, even if its the longest one in the store. I don't care - I just HAVE to be in her line. She recognizes me as a frequent customer and always says hi and asks how I'm doing. She is an AMAZING employee and by far, my favorite one who works here. I don't believe she is a manager, but she definitely deserves to be. Great work ethic and provides great customer service! Rosalie is the best! read more

I really don't recommend this grooming salon to anybody they're very very mean to take a dogs and they're extremely on organized.

Took my 2 dogs in for their nail trimming today. They told me they could work them in in 30-40 minutes. I had no problem and understand that because of Covid-19 every business is understaffed. Put my name and number on the list and waited for an hour no call. Went into the salon and the girl leaving says she can't see them. I asked her if I could at least make an appointment? She said NO! I shop at PetSmart monthly, the price of cat liter has gone up sooo much. I usually buy Scoop Away liter at $13 for 25lb box. Yesterday, it was priced at $19.99. How can the price hike be that much? Normally I have a great experience at petsmart. Today I went and got my dog the Chia Package which runs around $70. When I got home, I noticed the dog was wet and shiny but didn't smell like chia. I called them to question and they said it was probably the cologne they sprayed over it? Then I took the dog out side and hair was flying every like she hadn't been brushed. She was in and out pretty fast. Sad, I used to adore my local grooming. Hopefully I can find something close. read more

I took my Mom's dog for a grooming appointment last Friday morning. Not only did the groomer cut my Mom's dog but NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE INJURY. The grooming department just escorted the dog out and handed her over to us. I'm more upset that NO ONE acknowledged the injury!!! They just cleaned the cut but it started bleeding once we got her into car. My Mom was furious and wanted to go back to store and GET ANSWERS!!! I will be calling the corporate office in the morning to file a formal complaint and call the manager at the Torrance location. My Mom's dog WILL NOT be returning to this location!!! Wow, shelves are empty...for cat food. The stores smells to high heaven of dirty cages. The one checker for 15 people in line at 5pm on a Thursday. Cashier was nice. I always hear mixed things about Petco. I have never purchased live animals from here but do come here for basic pet supplies plus their onsite hospital (Banfield). We rescued a puppy and I brought him here to get his first series of shots and an exam. The prices were fair but I don't have much to compare it to. The people working the floor were extremely friendly and really seemed to go out of their way to try to help me with my needs. The store does seem a little too busy on Saturday's due to their pet adoptions but that is expected with a store of this size and location. read more

This was the first time I had to board our dog, Rusty. I needed someone to watch him for a day, so we opted for the Doggie Day Camp, which cost $23 for the whole day. This was a last minute decision and they were able to accommodate us. When we first arrived, my silly dog urinated on one side of the counter, and went around me and urinated on the other side of the counter. I was so embarrassed! But they said it happens all the time and they cleaned it up right away without complaining. I also gave them a sample bag of dog food to feed Rusty since he didn't eat, or pee or poo that morning. They said they would take care of him. When I arrived to pick him up, I saw him play with other dogs and a dog trainer, so it looked like he was having a blast. The pet report card said that he ate all of his food (which is a miracle because he hates dog food, always begging for table scraps), he urinated and pooped once. They also named his new friends that I saw him play with. I thought it was a good experience for him. I might have to board him for 2 days next year, so this place will be an option. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because Rusty came down with a small cold, maybe he caught something from other dogs? Also like I mentioned before, Rusty usually doesn't eat dog food. He always begs for table scraps, so I'm a little suspicious. Otherwise, I was happy with the outcome. read more

Since this is the only store closest by, I would stop by to get ms. Charmy's canned food. The location is hard to see from the Main Street since it's the corner where you can barley see the sign. Plenty of parking space. Depends on the day, staff would greet me. The place is looks clean and well maintained. The only down side is that two of the canned food which ms. Charmy eats are either low stock or out of stock. We buy by case so.... They do have other flavors but she doesn't like it. read more

The staff here was very friendly and helpful, offering advice proactively in the Aquarium / Fish section. They do price matching as well. Overall, I like this as a "go to" retail chain over PetCo, and this location is nice, located near the Del Amo Mall and next to Toys R Us and FYE as well as other retailers. The only disclaimer I have is with the PetSmart parking lot, if your car is low and you ever had trouble with your front end going over the parking cement blocks, beware... I had an owner/operator (my own fault!) error, by going over the cement block when I parked my car, then the cement block scraped the bottom of my front bumper, lifted it up a bit, got caught under it, and then when I pulled my car out, it yanked my front bumper off a bit, causing about $300+ in aesthetic damages needing repair. It's a totally avoidable accident however, so just keep that in mind. read more

This is the only PetSmart I have patronized. They are my neighborhood store and have it all. Their customer service is fantastic. Whenever I need to know where a product is located, they take me to it with a smile. Their grooming department is also top notch and reasonably priced. I have taken my dogs there several times, never had a problem making an appointment, and their service was very good. Parking is very good and the store hours perfect for the average customer. My dogs love that I go to PetSmart for them. read more

This review is specifically for the grooming salon and the female manager on shift June 10, 2019. I contacted them because they were supposed to be contacting me regarding our dog, Aspen's haircut and bath after her 5 day stay at Petsmart's puppy hotel. They NEVER contacted me. Our dog was supposed to be groomed the last day so I contacted them first thing when they opened. The manager proceeded to tell me there was no record of her appointment. She asked if we signed papers for the grooming. I told her yes. She was extremely unprofessional on the phone. Continuously speaking over me so I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I finally became so frustrated that I told her she was being rude and unprofessional and that in the customer service industry she is supposed to listen to customers when they're talking and not constantly speak over them. She said she was frustrated with the hotel because that wasn't how they were supposed to conduct business with our grooming appointment. Okay, well tone down the frustration. It's not the end of the world. We went over how I wanted Aspen's hair cut and then she apologized for her abruptness, again blaming the pet hotel. Fast forward almost an our later I remembered that I forgot to ask what time she would be done. I called back and talked to the same manager and she said she wouldn't be ready until 3 or 4 PM. No, that's not going to work. My hubby has to work at 4PM. I asked if they could get her done sooner considering they had her for 5 days and it wasn't our fault they didn't make her appointment. She finally admitted that the hotel didn't make a mistake. The information was there. It was in the 'old' computer system. SHE didn't look. We had to cancel the grooming. Now I'm waiting for the store manager to call me to give me the regional manager's information. It's not like we didn't already spend a pretty penny with boarding and the daily puppy play. The least they could have done was make sure she was ready to be picked up at a reasonable time and groomed like we wanted and PAID for. read more

As is typical of chain stores, once you've seen one you have pretty much seen them all. I love that this location has a Pet Hotel. The dogs seem to have a better set up than the cats do. They have playground time unlike the cats who have dedicated time outside the kennel. Hotel pricing is reasonable compared to other locations. Also, its VERY clean compared to others I visited when I looked into boarding my cat. They have a grooming area also, I've never had my cat groomed so I can't speak for the service but it is right out in the open which is a nice touch I think. The store itself is well stocked, has items for all family pets everything from cats and dogs to specialty lizards and snakes. Parking is ample. Pros -Large store, well stocked -Pet Hotel -Grooming -Ample Parking Cons None that I can think of. read more

Went to pick up an online order. Asked a worker to help with the pick up, and he pointed to a "button" for online orders. I go push the button, then wait for almost 10 minutes, all the while the person I asked initially was in my view, as mine in his. Finally someone said someone will help me, then they asked the person that pointed me to the "button" to help me. Wow ! Got the initial feeling this worker could care less about the customer.
