Got up early in the morning to go here, had a fishtank filter die on me. Store opens at 9:00, wasn't open until almost 9:30. The first employee i spoke to was extremely rude and unhelpful. Second employee was in a hurry to sweep and ignored me. Third employee helped me look for a correct filter for all of 20 seconds before disappearing and helping someone else. Wasn't helped or even acknowledged at the cash register so i set about 200 dollars worth of shit down and began to leave. First employee from before stopped me at the door and asked to see my bag, assuming Id stolen something. Will be shopping at other competitors from now on. I take my dog to get groomed here regularly at least once a month. They don't follow through with the full grooming. Every session they are supposed to clean out the ears and remove the hair inside . My dog got an ear infection because how impacted his ears that you couldn't even see into his ear canal. They are also supposed to clip their nails and they miss one or two. They really cut corners here. Vet recommended not to take my dog here anymore. Save yourself a vet bill and your dog going through pain and go elsewhere. read more

Every time I come here I get zero customer service. Cashiers usually greet me and are friendly. Staff on the floor ignore customers and I can never get assistance. The aquarium section is very concerning. All the tanks look neglected and tons of fish are dead floating at the top. Absolutely awful experience. Gabi who had AirPods in was talking to a lady whose kids were entirely running around the store and into other customers saying nothing. I watched the lady grab a handful of crickets and throw them in the small fishes tank. Absolutely ridiculous behavior that was allowed just because that manager clearly knew that women and her kids. I usually have a good experience here but to find out that was happening was terrible. Crickets just drowned in an instance by some crazy white lady, shame on you and Gabi. Genuinely the worst petsmart i've been in. walking in, you get to see the display of dead beta fish who were in these tiny, dirty cups. If you're looking to get any sort of fish from here, don't. they're kept in TERRIBLE condition. The fish tanks were covered in algae so bad i had to put my face against the glass to even see the fish. Their tanks were extremely dirty at the bottom as well where multiple dead fish lay. The birds were kept in visibly poor condition, one parrot had multiple missing feathers from self-plucking. Extremely depressing place. read more

They took my $50. For grooming, my dog did not get a bath that I paid for he did not get his paw trimmed. He did not get his teeth brushed. He got his toenails cut maybe a little grinding and sprayed on him over the dirt. The groomers here never follow through on the package that was bought. For the last two visits here my dogs still comes home shedding and I have to still do 30 minutes of deshedding myself even though I pay for a deshedding package. They are to lazy to actually do the 20 minutes of brushing with the furminator. I will not bring my dog back again to lazy workers. read more

I went in today with my 5month old and wasn't able to push a cart and her stroller. I asked for help and this lovely lady got a cart and helped me grab the bag of dog food and dog bed I needed and take them to the front. When I was at the register I asked if someone could follow me to the car just so I can throw the items in the trunk but needed someone to push the cart. The same lady came up and asked the cashier if anyone had responded. She said "I'll just help her". She brought it to the car, let me put my baby in the car and she loaded the stuff in the trunk. Zero rating ! Had my mini schnauzer groomed here a few hours ago and it was absolutely the worst experience ever ! Check out my dog's pic and judge for yourself. Groomer named Oshzanae did something truly disgusting , shaved/chopped my dog's right eyebrows completely and both lashes too . She justified by saying that my dog moved hence, the "no eyebrow." My dog is 11 years old and is so used to being groomed. She gets good reviews from all her groomers in the past for being well-behaved all the time so I refuse to accept the groomer's line of reasoning. If you want your dog to look like a clown , then this is the place for you . But if you want to get at least a decent haircut for your dog, stay away from this place ! Very unprofessional and inconsiderate ! I felt like grooming my dog was an experiment or groomer used it as her practice session. The salon's assistant manager offered me a chance to rectify the situation by sending my dog back. I demanded for a full refund instead. My goodness. Brought my Shih Tzu in for a SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT at 12:30 p.m. today, and he wasn't ready until 20 minutes ago (5 hours). Nobody said it would take this long for a little dog. So many things went wrong here. First, PetSmart is hiring young kids who are not being properly trained. Second, they are double booking appointments and not enough staff (or ADULTS) to supervise. The windows are covered now so you can't see what's going on with your pet. We opened the door to see pets being treated horribly in cages. My little dog (who is two years old) was scared and had poop on his leg. I'm so disheartened by this, the only blame is the manager and PetSmart for not taking this position seriously in their training. If I would've known my entire day would've been spent waiting for my baby to get his hair cut, I would've gone somewhere else. That's not all. They tried to charge us $8.00 (for "special handling"?) and another $6.00 for a Mohawk haircut (which he did not receive) on top of the $58.00 for the uneven haircut. I am providing pictures below so you are informed not to bring your pets here for grooming. I will be following up with PetSmart's corporate office, this experience was absolutely horrid. I'm speaking out so hopefully this changes the dynamic of how they are training these kids to do a professional job. I don't believe they are being trained at all. This PetSmart location (Vacaville) has a decent selection of aquarium decor - larger than some stores. I just wish most decor wasn't so childlike. Every single time I visit this specific store located at Vacaville in nut tree plaza, I find dead betta fish they have on display in the front close to the checkout as you walk in. I always bring it to an associate attention and they don't seem to care. It's sad that the animals they keep there are neglected and not taken care of. You would think since it's a pet store, they would take more measurements. It literally takes me few seconds to go through the betta fish containers to check, so why can't the workers do the same. Because of this repetitive neglect towards their animals specifically betta fish, it makes me not want to go there as a customer. I took my fur baby to the groomers today. I dropped him off at 9:00am and I was advised 3-4 hours and they will call when ready. At 1:15pm, I still have not received a call and so I drove to the store to pick him up. When I got there, the 4.5 hours they have my fur son, they were still drying him off and fur cut was not done. They said my fur son was stressing out...he never gets stressed out unless something was done to him that he did not like. I don't have proof that he may have been mistreated but I just have to trust my instinct that the groomer(s) took utmost care of him. So, the first 2.5 hours they had my son, I called to check the status on him and the person I spoke over the phone sounded irritated; despite the attitude I received, I held back since they have my son and I entrusted them with him. I always have different groomers do my son's grooming for several years and this is the first time a groomer stated that he was stressing and urinating on himself which they had to wash him down and then dry him again. I was advised they had to re-rinse him at least 4 times...I am not buying the story though. To my dismay that my fur son was not done (had to drive over 15 miles) to pick him up, I offered to pay for at least the bath but the groomers said No Charge which I was thankful but I will not bring him back to the Vacaville store for grooming. read more

!!Take your fur babies anywhere else!! I took my dog here to get his trails trimmed. It was a horrible experience for both of us. My dog is a emotional support/Service animal. When I walked in to pick him up, they were talking crap about him not being a real service dog because they didn't realize I was in there. They also tried to charge me $10 extra because they said he was being "difficult". Come to find out, they cut his bloodline. He's never had a problem before, he's always nervous but never difficult. They were rough with not only my dog but I watched a few different groomers handle the dogs they had, and to say the least it wasn't kind or gentle. I love PetSmart! Their staff are always so helpful in providing what I need for my pets. Also, every year they donate a bunch of stuffed animals to our local hospital. I add these to gift bags that I make for our patients who are going through a really rough time, or having a birthday while hospitalized. Buyer Beware. Adopted a cat with EAR MITES! This wasn't listed on his medical history nor was explained by either of the two employees who worked there. Both were familiar with our kitty. Knowing he had mites wouldn't have deterred us from adopting him but it would've been helpful and HONEST to know he wasn't "all good" as they explained. We would've been better prepared that we'd be met with a $350 vet bill. Also knowing would've prevented us from introducing him to our dog, who may now have mites. So our $350 bill will double...just before Christmas. The vet explained these are contagious and he was itching since we brought him home. Meaning he had them in PetSmarts care. When I called, the manager didn't seemed surprised nor seemed to care but was eager to hang up with me to answer an incoming call. read more
