Some weeks I feel like Phal's Cafe is the only reason I go to the Grow RVA Farmer's Market. I love Phal's fresh summer shrimp rolls. I also. Pick up frozen spring rolls (chicken, shrimp, or vegetarian) to have on hand as a side with stir-fry. In colder months I purchase soup to take home fir lunch.

I had the pleasure of tasting Phals deliciousness today at the farmers market and let me tell you that wonton soup broth is to die for. Phal makes the broth herself and it hits you like a warm blanket on a chilly night, pure Comfort in a bowl!! YUMMO!! I'm literally counting down the days untill my next bowl of soup.

    Not what I ordered.

#2??...definitely NOT what I ordered. There was 5 minutes left at RVA Big Mart...I was at the booth beside and noticed the market was about to close. Stepped over, had $15 cash, order within moments the #2..it had lumpia, shrimp, looked like a whole bunch of stuff. I asked the lady that was helping me directly, 'Do you have the #2?', she verbally said, 'Yes'. I know there wasn't much time left, but 5 minutes is a ton of time. Just got home and this is it..I saw her open a chicken meal, take some of noodle out, and I thought was going to add the shrimp and other toppings. Nope. Just a half portion from the original chicken box...wrapped it up tight. If you don't have it, say, NO. This is not what I ordered and it cost $15 for $1.00 worth of noodles and 10 pieces of chicken . Just annoyed...thankful I do eat this.

This is Richmond's one and only cat cafe and while I'm not a cat lover, I loveeee this spot for all that it is. The drinks. The ambiance. The staff. The staff here is the nicest, most patient people ever. Let's talk about the drinks though. I'm obsessed with their matcha. I need to come back and try their actual coffee. Some of the best matcha in town. They always have a seasonal menu and their seasonal matchas always hit. Trust me, this is one of three cafes in Richmond, that has respectable matcha. That is also worth the huge price tag. It's hand whisked, which is also a luxury around here. Definitely check them out!

The drink in my opinion is on the pricer end ($9.94 including taxes) . The cold foam tasted more orange which wasn't bad, but the latte itself tasted more like a liquidy diluted rather than tasting the espresso. Unless it's meant to be cold brew than that's my mistake. I do plan on exploring the cafe again and try their matcha. The cafe is so cute and the service was great. Parking might be a little tricky depending when you drive over. But it was worth discovering the place!

We waited in the indoor area that is connected to a cute store. The walls had graffiti. The waiting area had billiard table, playing cards, other merchandise like t-shirts and some other vintage items. The Moore Street Big Breakfast lives up to its name. It was indeed big: 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and grits. It comes with your choice of 2 pancakes, toast, biscuit, or English muffin. The veggie omelet was also very nice. Great diner food and service.

The wait staff were nice and checked in with us throughout service. They were busy, and we did have to ask again for a couple things we asked for when we ordered. Seeing as they were busy, it was understandable. The parking can be difficult to find, but it's not too bad on most days. I ordered a swiss mushroom burger with onion rings on the side, a coke and a mexican mule. I liked the burger, especially the onion rings! I would probably ask for the mushrooms to be a little bit more caramelized though. Serving size was filling and the drink was perfectly strong. They have an extensive menu, and I would love to come back to try more dishes! The cafe decor is retro, and it makes the restaurant feel nostalgic. I think it's great for a group hang if you have a large group, too. There was a big group there when I was there and a few smaller groups of people.
