Went here on a whim on a Friday night. Fairly busy, but we were able to find a seat quickly. It was probably around 5 PM or so when we arrived, and there wasn't much left in the way of parking, so that's something to keep in mind. It's a "seat yourself" set up. They don't serve food, but you are allowed to bring in outside food. They also have food trucks outside fairly often. I'd say they have about 12 different beers on top, but they do sell cans and if there's one that you want that's not on tap, they will do a "can pour" for you. They also offer flights. The beer itself was pretty good. They were a couple that we tried that didn't quite hit the mark for us in terms of depth, but still very drinkable. Nice range of ABV as well. The staff was pretty friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was warm & it was a little loud, but not bad considering it's a brewery. Prices on par for other breweries in the area. And I noticed that they to offer some events such as trivia and live music. There is a calendar on their website that breaks this down for you. Overall, a nice find. We will be back! read more

Finally made my way to Phantom Farms brewing just after their 1 year anniversary (congratulations!). I was a little intimidated because they had live music and I thought it was going to be a madhouse, but it was thankfully only kind of busy. They have beautifully renovated building in an accessible part of town. Plenty of off street parking and well lit at night. The 2 female beer tenders I interacted with were friendly, professional and highly efficient; making short work of any lines that managed to develop. The counter service is fairly well organized and not quite the free for all you get at some places. There was a private event upstairs so I didn't get to see that space but the downstairs and outdoor areas were clean and comfortable. The beer was decent with nothing outrageously good or bad but I'm also a connoisseur that lives on tree house, hill farm...etc. I think their Pilsner was my favorite and something I'd really enjoy on a repeat visit. They also brew a variety of different styles, something that is missing at many of the hop heavy places that have become popular. Overall, I think this was a nice place with tons of potential for growth and success. 3.5 if I could give 1/2 stars but rounding up because the beer tenders were so awesome. read more

Phantom Farms Brewing has been on my radar for a while now, and I was excited to visit for their 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Festival. I've been reading great reviews of the brewery and several friends have been and enjoyed it. I think we probably would have had a different experience if we were visiting on a regular day, rather than during a special event as the festival was not especially well run. First off, I was surprised they were charging a $25 cover ($30 once the early bird sales ended) since there are countless bars where you can hear live music with zero/low cover charges all around RI during St Patrick's Day weekend. Still, it looked like a fun afternoon and one of our friends wanted to go, so we decided to go anyway. Once we arrived, we saw the "no re-entry" signs posted and we went back to our car before entering so we could be sure we had everything we needed (the music was outdoors so we wanted our lawn chairs, blankets, and sunglasses). I saw an older couple ask if they could go to their car to get their sunglasses, but they were told they wouldn't be allowed back in, which I thought was a little on the rude side especially given that it was early in the festival and the parking lot was very close by. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces at the brewery are really nice. The outdoor area is large enough for a few hundred people, has solar panels that will provide shade during the warmer months, and has a loading dock that is used as a stage. The bands were excellent. Boxty played traditional Irish favorites and Joshua Tree did an amazing job with U2 covers. This made me feel just a little better about the cover charge. The real shortcomings of the event were that having only one food truck was completely insufficient for the crowd. It took 1 hour and 35 minutes from us placing our order of chicken tenders and fries to actually receiving our food. Many people were pretty hangry because the festival also had a no outside food policy, but the "inside food" was not able to keep up with the demand. The line for drinks was also 30+ people deep at many times throughout the afternoon. And the line for both the indoor bathrooms and the outdoor port-a-potties were both a 10-15 minute wait. Fortunately the weather was nice because if it had been rainy, there is no way everyone would have fit inside, which would have added more fuel to the disgruntled fire. The upsides were that the music was good and the brewery space is very appealing. The downsides were everything else. Will I go back? Maybe, but there are so many other great breweries around and so many talented musicians in our area, that I don't think I'll be rushing to make a return trip to Phantom Farms. read more

I stopped by Phantom Farm Brewing for the first time recently with friends and was immediately impressed. Wish it didn't take me so long to get there! The interior of the brewery is gorgeous--lofty and full of natural light, with a relaxed feel, great AC, and plenty of indoor-outdoor seating depending on your mood and the weather. Since it was my first visit, I ordered a flight, and the bartenders were incredibly kind, even letting me sample a few of their personal favorites before choosing. I enjoyed the whole flight, but the standout for me was the cider--crisp, refreshing, and not surprising since it comes from the same team behind Phantom Farms just down the road, with legendary apples. There was live music playing and a waffle food truck parked outside offering both sweet and savory options. No sours were on tap during my visit (my usual favorite), but I've seen them listed before and am hoping to catch one next time! read more

And this staff has been trained in hospitable, friendly, timely service to make a good time nearly inevitable. The service was polite and quick. They had a great selection, a little of everything so everyone will find something they enjoy. I enjoyed my cascade brook cider and my friend enjoyed her red moon scotch ale. Place is sleek brick and chrome, think people would enjoy the vibe. One of our newer breweries , and already a well loved one ! We went opening weekend and it was mobbed. I think they ran out of some beers . Not to worry they quickly Ramped up production and have plenty to satisfy the masses. I mean masses, they are always busy. Parking is plentiful , there is a ton of seating , and they are well staffed with knowledgeable beer tenders. I recommend a flight so you can try a lot of different beers. They have ipa, stouts , sours , even a cider. Something for everyone. There is frequently music as well food trucks but you can bring your own food in. This is a must stop place for any brewery fan. The beer is award winning but not difficult to approach. I really enjoy the IPAs. The facility is beautiful, all very well put together. This place is a treat and a wonderful addition to the area. Frequently come here 2-3 times a week and the live shows they put on are pretty cool (except for reggae ) just not my cup of tea . I was a fan of Phantom Farms from way back and this is a nice addition to the family. It is set in an old mill building in Cumberland which adds to the charm. Great outdoor area as well. Also, close to the Blackstone Bike path. Overall a great experience and dog friendly too. While there is no on premise food typically some of the best food trucks in the area. Rhode Island's newest brewery might just be our most beautiful as well. In an out building at one of our old, brick mills along the Blackstone River, the design & decor here were well thought out, making it a comfortable yet lively place to enjoy their craft beer offering. We had heard that the breweries first days were crazy busy. So, on a rainy Saturday morning, we made this our first stop as soon as they opened. Parking & space at the bar were plentiful at noon, but we heard that wasn't the case a few hours later. My partner's Elegant Viking IPA was solid - a good turnout for a brand new brewery. Next, we tried the two stout offering - Berkley & Anconcagua Mountain. The chocolaty Berkley was my favorite, but the latter had a fun, chile bite. The list is short for now with six beer & two cider offerings. Jay, one of the founders, stopped by to introduce himself & welcome us - a nice touch. We look forward to using this area as a starting point for BVBP rides to end here for a cold one. And, I can't wait to try those ciders! read more

So happy to have a new brewery in Rhode Island! I visited on the second opening weekend. Parking lot was full and definitely a few people parking where they shouldn't be parking... Once inside, the line was already to the tanks. As my two friends stood in line, I walked around. The downstairs has the bathrooms, main bar, high tops and regular tables. There is an upstairs mezzanine with more seating, but smaller. There is a little hallway for standing room, as well. Knowing that, there was not much room for people to stand and definitely no open tables. We all ordered a full pour of Elegant Viking and somehow got a two top with a bench side for my friends to share. Elegant Viking. This Hazy IPA is absolutely delicious. It's light, little hoppy, and fully aromatic. It went down easy, we all loved it. By the time we finished it, the line had doubled around by the entrance. We knew there was no way it was possible to get another. And while we sat, Elegant Viking actually kicked. Overall, I plan to return to try more! read more

Great tap room set inside a mill with the high ceilings and industrial look you would expect. Pleasantly, it did not smell like a brewery which was a pleasant discovery. Staff were very friendly and helpful, eager to review the beers on tap and help make an informed decision. Beer overall was slightly better than average. My impression was they have the ingredients and passion but still fine tuning some of the brew process. They're stout was a solid offering but the kettle sour and NEIPA were solidly average in my opinion. read more

Checked out Phantom Farms Brewing, a relatively new brewery in Cumberland, RI, after the Apple Valley Minerals Show. We tried a flight with a couple beers and ciders. I most enjoyed their Moonlight IPA and their cider. I was interested in trying the Lava brew with chili pepper just to see what it was like, but this was not my favorite chili beer. Very nice atmosphere with three living moss wall art pieces made by Smithfield based Moss Pure, a company created during a startup competition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Lebanon Challenge) in June 2020. The moss is meant to relax folks and clean the area. We noticed a lot of families with babies and small kids on the lower level but the upper level was much more adult like and relaxed with just other couples and small groups of adults. Will definitely be back for the cool atmosphere and hope to try some other brews. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. Quick service for the flights too. read more

As part of the RI Food Fights #BigLeBREWski this month, Phantom Farms Brewing was a new addition to the lineup. We pulled up just as they were opening the doors for the evening & we were greeted graciously by the team. Everyone is super excited for their official opening this weekend - a twofer... new brewery + St. Patrick's Day! They are featuring 6 beers & 2 ciders. We are self-admitted weirdos when it comes to beer: we love the darkest & the lightest beers on tap! Glacier, an American pils, was imminently drinkable & definitely a go-to for sitting on the patio & throwing back a couple. We loved the Aconcagua Mountain, a stout chili pepper. Initially, I wanted it to be spicier but when talking with the brewmaster, he told us that he liked it when there was a little burn at the back of your throat but doesn't overwhelm your palate. He was 100% correct! We sampled both ciders & preferred the Cascade Brook (hoppy) over the Diamond Blossom (sparkling). The Berkeley, an American stout, was also delicious but the standout, for us, was the chili stout. At this time, they are inviting food trucks to be part of the experience but hope to have a limited menu soon. The front of the building is all set to be a patio when the weather gets better. The space upstairs would be great for private events. The perfect evening out trifecta: a gorgeous buildout of a historic building, great staff & fabulous beers! read more

A great spot to cap off a quick bucolic drive from Providence with a brew. Beautifully renovated warehouse building with shiny new brew equipment and a mezzanine with plenty of what look like reclaimed wood furniture and comfy seating. A handful of inventive beers that include a SOLID chili stout, a few IPA's, a peppery Pilsner that was incredible AND plenty of folks working the bar scooting a huge line through quickly. The wait is well worth it and way quicker than I envisioned. They've got something very cool here - a must try. read more

The beer was really good, plenty of varieties, and some really unique and ambitious ones like the Pulsar, Imperial stout or 1872. They have a very well constructed flight, 4x5oz. The staff was pretty cheery, the owner and mgr seemed pretty chill mgr. It's in an old mill with an original vibe, We ran it on one couple whose parents had worked there and they were proud that it had been refurbished. read more
