A group of friends and I met up on a beautiful fall day to have some wine and sit outside in the sunshine and spend time catching up. The winery is open 12-4 on weekends and allows you to bring in your own food, which was the perfect way for us to enjoy some local wine in a beautiful setting. There is seating inside the house, outside on a covered patio area, and they have tables scattered across the lawn so there are many options to pick from. We each decided on a wine flight before selecting some bottles and paired it with the snack trays we brought from home and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together on the grounds of this vineyard. One thing to note, the road to the winery is very narrow so they employ a metered light system at the beginning of the road. It's important to wait for the red light to turn off before driving down the narrow stretch. The person in front of me didn't do this and ended up having to back up (reverse) down a narrow and winding path to allow the incoming cars (who had the right of way) through. For visitors with mobility needs, there is a grass parking lot and lots of cobblestones and lose rock to navigate during your time here, so be mindful of that. There are a few stairs in order to gain entry into the house to shop/select the wines and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. read more

Such a beautiful venue for my daughter's garden/woodland themed bridal shower. The grounds are breathtaking and were a perfect fit for our theme. We had a total of 30 guests and it was just perfect. Such a great and yummy selection of wine - I recommend the wine bar, it was a hit. The food was delicious; everyone loved it - so fresh and more than enough that we even brought home leftovers. I cannot say enough about Chantelle; in summary, she was attentive, friendly, easy to talk to, and engaged with all of our guests. Got invited here for a bridal shower last weekend and I have to say, it was not my favorite. I've heard a few friends mention this place before so I was excited to check it out. There was another bridal shower next to us, but very close. We had guests putting their presents at the wrong table. Also, they allowed us to use the gazebo from 11-2 for our party and around 1:30 some guy pretty much took over and put his DJ booth right in front of our dessert table. Also, I personally didn't like how people could show up and just claim a spot as close to your tent as they wanted because it is still public while the parties are going on. But I understand. We lucked out with nice weather so that was great. It looked like the grounds were well taken care of and more than enough seating around for a normal customer. read more

Looking for a hidden gem of a vineyard with a wide variety of fruit wines to choose from? Diamond Hill Vineyards is your best bet in RI! We figured it wouldn't be too busy on a chilly March weekday and we were right! We had the patio to ourselves with a sweeping view of the Vineyard's backyard. The owner was working and she was so friendly, warm, and excited to talk about the wines with us. Inside you can get a full pour for $8 or four 2oz sample pours for the same price! We opted for the samples so that we could try more wines. I got the blackberry, cranberry apple, dry Riesling, and the unoaked Chardonnay. You can even do blends of some of the fruit wines if that's your jam! There's seating inside and the patio in the back is covered so if it's a little drizzly outside it's no problem. With the whole coronavirus end of the world drama it was nice to finally actually go somewhere. All the tables were spread out plenty of room apart more than 6 feet so social distancing was not an issue. They have a huge outdoor area with tables that you can sit at your allowed to bring all your own food. You can go in and buy wine by the bottle and they will open it for you and give you some glasses. I think normally you can buy wine by the glass but right now with the restrictions that's not allowed. Small little vineyard in a backroad in Cumberland. Rowdy is bumpy af tho, you're going to want to leave your heels at home ladies. You can bring your own eats and drink the wine there. I went for a team work event during COVID days. They laid out wine bottles and cups for a tasting. Wines were pretty strong, I was surprised. I'm not a big drinker at all. Super cute! I came here with a friend on a Saturday around 12:30 during the summer and the place was pretty busy. It's $3 for a tasting but the fee is waived if you buy a bottle of wine. It's pretty cramped inside so we had to wait 5 or so minutes before we were greeted and able to start our tasting simply because a group of 4 was already doing a tasting. They give you 5 wines to taste and all are so-so. They won't blow you away but they are very unique tastes. Some made of cherries and some black berries. The blueberry port was my personal favorite. We chose a bottle of wine and brought our own snacks of hummus, crackers and cheese and sat ourselves outside in the sun. Like I said, it was busy and there were some kids running around the yard and playing. It wasn't loud but a very peaceful outdoor experience. The winery gave us glasses and plates to use for our snacks. One thing I found odd is there was no rinsing our glass between wines or cleansing of the palate. read more

This is just a wonderful place. They have the most amazing local wine some might considered a few bottles to be a bit pricey (16.50) but I think they're well worth it. The scenery is great I love seeing the wild peacocks run around. The family that owns and runs it are genuinely nice people. After you purchase 11 bottles the 12th is free. I save my free bottles for the seasonal blackberry which beyond excellent. I failed to mention free tastings! What could be better then that? read more

Those who know me know I am a huge fan of wine so imagine my surprise when I discovered there is a winery right near me three exits away in Cumberland. It's called the Diamond Hill Vineyard. This is a much smaller operation than most vineyards I frequent but it's quickly climbed to the top of my list of favorites. This a family operation and the family lives right above the tasting room. This may be the most charming home I've ever been on. So cozy and comfortable. All types of neat tchotchkes and decor. And speaking of comfortable the wine makers were there themselves Pouring the wines. Chantelle did our tasting and I really Enjoyed how much pride she had in her wines. Nancy is her mom and from what I understood was the one who has started the business. She was walking around saying hello and asking how the wines were. She saw I had blueberry and poured some Blackberry into it since she had some customers who enjoyed it that way. They really make you feel like your a Visitor in their home. Oh yeah the wine. Almost forgot That part ! They make their wine from fruits and it's delicious. They have about six different kinds right now. I tried them all and ended up with two bottles of my favorites. One is blueberry. It was incredibly Fresh and the flavor popped right on my tongue. The other is cranberry Apple. This one tasted like cranberry juice. Wow. If your not careful you'd forget there is alcohol In it ! It's almost 15% so one or two glasses is plenty. Pricewise they are very reasonable. The tastings are free and a glass is six dollars if you want a whole one. They are generous with the pours too. A bottle averages around fifteen dollars which is a great price. They also have a frequent buyer card which you can get one free after ten bottles. I would highly recommend checking this place out. I LOVE this vineyard! Found this hidden gem a few years ago and I go back all the time. The place is run by this lovely lady and her mother. The wine is great, and they have so many unique flavors. They have outdoor seating, a covered patio with heaters and also an inside so it is great for any season. I hope to get here during the warm season as it had the potential to be super beautiful and relaxing. We came on my birthday for a simple wine tasting on a chilly December Sunday. Expecting to be just one of a few people, we were greeted by a full house of wine revelers and FREE tastings of about 8 wines! This was the first place I've experienced which offered tastings at no cost so it was a pleasant surprise. Our pourer (I'm sure there's an official term but let's go with pourer!) was so friendly, explained the wines and gave us ideas for pairings for the holidays...so much so we bought a bottle of the blackberry wine to pair with prosecco for Christmas dinner and it was fantastic! Visiting Diamond Hill Vineyards is like stepping back into Anne of Green Gables. You travel down a dirt road, park in a grassy lot, and walk over to this beautiful Victorian style home with a beautiful porch. The lawn is surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, with picnic tables scattered throughout. A large gazebo can be found in the corner, which has beautiful stained glass pieces of grapes on the top (make sure to look up). Now if the location wasn't beautiful enough, lets talk about the delicious wines! I haven't tried them all, but their Crush wine would have me back any day of the week. It's like fruit juice sangria goodness that goes down much to easily. I have never tasted anything like this and can't wait to bring my girlfriends here. This is such a cute place! Everything from the gravel road down to the property, to the idyllic garden, to the knowledgeable staff was fantastic. We got to sample 6 different wines: a chardonnay, a Pinot noir, a cab, a cranberry-apple, a blueberry, and a blackberry. I've had minimal experience with fruit wines (mostly negative), so these were a pleasant surprise. Did I mention that the tasting was free? Diamond Hill came highly recommended by a local so I've been itching to check it out for weeks! The Vineyard's visitor's area is a small farmhouse tucked away in the woods - be careful or you might drive past it. There's a one-way road with a funky stoplight telling you when it's safe to drive (though I'm not sure it can be trusted). The wine tastings are a little odd - you stand around a very tiny bar area and try not to get in the way of people shopping in the surrounding store as you sip your wine. It all feels a little rushed and the staff doesn't have much to say about the wine, but they have a unique selection of reds, whites, and fruit wines and the tasting is FREEFREEFREE! Afterwords, you can buy a reasonably priced bottle and enjoy it in the sitting room, with comfy chairs, a warm fire, and a lovely view. They also welcome visitors bringing your own food (or they sell nibbles in their shop), so you can easily enjoy a tipsy low-cost afternoon. Diamond Hill definitely has a Rhode Island feel - it's like you stepped into someone's home and they're sitting you down to enjoy a drink. It may not be fancy but it's cozy and inviting. What a quaint non pretentious winery! While you will not get a tour of the winery itself, you will enjoy a FREE wine tasting (of 6 or 7 wines) in a quaint 1700 year old house. The shop portion where the wine tasting takes place is a bit small, you will forget that as you taste the delightful nectars they have to offer . Your asking yourself "Why is this free?" The answer to this is you will be walking out with at least two to three bottles of wine. They do not need to charge. Some of the most popular wines here offered is cranberry apple, blackberry, blueberry, apple cinnamon wine (which is awesome heated), and a seasonal peach wine. Those are among the favorites too, but typical Pino Noir, Blush Wine and Classic White Table Wine is offered. If you love New England's old houses, braided rugs, Saturday afternoons and being mildly tipsy and happy with friends, this is a hidden gem. read more

The bottles are all very reasonably priced, and they will give you a member card which allows you to get a free bottle after buying 11 bottles. No price limit on which bottle is free, either! It's located on a beautiful piece of property and they offer free tastings as well as wines by the glass. You can bring your own food and have a picnic on their porch or in the yard. It's a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon. Crush (blueberry, blackberry and raspberry blend) is my absolute favorite wine, and it's even better with a splash of Prosecco (as recommended by the owner). The Blueberry and Blackberry wines are also shining stars. The bottles are moderately priced and very worth it, in my opinion. They have a rewards card -- when you buy 11, you get your 12th bottle free! The women who work there, who I believe are a mother and daughter, are super friendly and will warmly greet you the moment you walk in. Came here on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. We walked into a tucked away country setting. The porch was occupied by about 9 small tables with couples and small groups sipping wine, eating crackers, bread, cheese and other picnicky items. Definitely bring some yummies when you come but have no fear, they have a great selection of cheese and crackers (as well as other sundries) inside to purchase. Once inside, we enjoyed the wine tasting! Luckily for us, we had a private tasting only because we beat the rush that occurred about 20 minutes after us. We tasted about 6 different wines and listened to what makes each distinct. They were delicious. I really love this place. I went about 10 years ago and thought the wines were mediocre ....they've greatly improved. They make fruit wines but they're so much better than Nashoba Valley's version. I'm a fan of any place that closes but lets its customers continue to hang out on its beautiful porch, sipping a glass of what tastes like juice but smacks you with a 14% alcohol content. Diamond Hill is a great place to kill an afternoon--it's relaxed, fun, and utterly unpretentious in every way. It's a quaint family business that will give you a free tasting of the seven or so wines that they offer. I've been here twice, and have thoroughly enjoyed this secret gem. The wines, while tasty, are mostly fruit dessert wines--peace, apple, blueberry, etc., so if you're expecting a Vidal Blanc a la Newport Vineyards, this might not be the place for you. Some of their wines, particularly the blueberry, really threw me for a loop with the unusual flavor. My recommendation (and my reasoning for four stars) is that visitors should be prepared that these are unconventional wines. Everything is reasonably priced, and no one tries to sell you anything or hurry you out...which makes you want to buy a glass and hang out, and then buy a bottle and hang out...you get the picture. Guests are encouraged to pick out their own cheeses and crackers from a cooler to nibble on. I'm sure that they do weddings here, as the scenery is stunning. In the winter, they set up the living room with a cozy fire so you can enjoy a glass of wine in a relaxing atmosphere and look out at their lovely property.
