Can't recommend this place enough. Not advertised as a hotel restaurant so realizing that it was made me kind of skeptical, but after eating here I frequently think about it from 900mi away. My 4 girlfriends and I got two appetizers, two side salads, five sodas, five meals and three desserts for $200. Everything was yummy and came out hot and quick even on the weekend. The view was stunning (book a window table ahead of time!) and there was live music that was actually enjoyable and not overbearing. We were slightly dressed up from taking pictures but wouldn't feel out of place here in a tank top and shorts. Perfect for vacation dinner. My opinion of The Cove still remains the same -- I really want to love it, but it's more of a place you visit for the atmosphere than for standout food or drinks. This was my first time stopping by in the evening, and I did love the live music and overall vibe. The drinks are just okay, but in my opinion not quite worth the price, so I ended up sticking with a seltzer instead. Came here after going to a local farmers market. It was a hot day. Fans were going & there was a nice breeze off the water. Got seated right away. Lovely views of the water on the intracoastal. Our server came quickly to take our drink orders & then we ordered steamed clams to start & share. I ordered Caesar salad with blackened salmon. Hubby had blackened Mahi- Mahi with pineapple salsa. Found this place on a whim and man am I so happy I did. The ambiance, the food and the drinks are superb. We met a friend that was in town from Texas and we had a blast, we only had a few appetizers and drinks but that was all we needed to entice us to return. You have a spectacular waterfront view, live music and a great selection of seafood dishes. The restaurant itself has a cool decor and service was great, friendly staff and very accommodating. We enjoyed a very nice lunch at the The Cove this week. I have been here before they remodeled a few years ago. This is a waterfront restaurant with outdoor dining and boat docking which is always very crowded. It is a great place to entertain out of town guests and friends alike in addition to a date night. We were seated right away and had our Virgin Mary's served quickly. A tall glass with all the trimmings including bacon!! We ordered Fish and chips and a wedge salad to share. It took a while for the food to come out but both dishes were very good...the fish (Haddock) was huge. I asked about the small portion of fries and our lovely server brought out a fresh bowl..no charge. That was very sweet of her. We found free parking in the lot and there is also Valet $7. The best place to relax with great view of intercoastal for lunch or dinner. It is very busy with music ,not quiet with boats dropping off The seafood is always fresh and good size portions. There were also a few hiccups with service...we had to chase someone down for utensils, we didn't get our fries when our food came out, and our server gave us the wrong amount in cash for our change. First off been living in the Deerfield area for 10 years. Been here before and the service has never been so abysmal in my life. Absolutely the worst service I have ever had. At first it was okay she was semi attentive and then we weren't ready to order our food yet so we asked her to give us a couple of minutes. She came to the table next to us to check in on them but never stopped by our table. Let me tell you we genuinely waited 45 minutes just for the waiter to place our order. We chose to sit outside so our dog companion could join, and the team brought him water and loved on him! The nautical themed restaurant is situated at the end of Hillsboro Blvd on the intracoastal. The tiki hut style dining area is massive and multi leveled divded only by a few wooden steps, while the cocktail bar overlooks a small fleet of luxury fishing boats. Live music every Saturday & Sunday 1p - 4p and Fridays until 9pm. The sun sets on the obstructed west side of the building and is visible from only one small portion of the back patio. Consumed a few cocktails at the bar while waiting for my entire party to arrive. The Apple Sour Rum & Coke was my own concoction and it was excellent. We had a large family function and sat in the main interior dining room. The server, Desi, was very attentive through the entire meal. The food arrived to the table without any glitches. My Cove Burger with the bacon was large and juicy. The Lobster Roll was tender & tasty and well stuffed but pricey. Great service, rare atmosphere, good food but overpriced. The parking lot was free with enough spaces to support the restaurant on a Sunday night. The wooden dock along the water is walkable although fishing is prohibited. The bartender service at the bar while waiting for a table was exceptional, she really tried to satisfy my taste, but both drinks fell short on quality. The frozen margarita wasn't frozen and overly sweet, replaced with an on the rocks skinny margarita, lack of tequila and flavor fell short of a good drink. When I was seated I tried a different drink, a mojito and that drink tasted more along the lines of a normal cocktail but still not spectacular. You come here for the views, to be outside on the water, not necessarily for the food or drinks which were acceptable but not noteworthy. I had the watermelon salad with mahi mahi. It was a little too over sauced for my liking and would get it on the side next time! All and all it was a nice place. Food was not too over priced. Side note: apparently they have the best key lime pie and the week before they sold my sister the pie for $35. We asked for a full pie again and they told us it was close to $65 ..... no where in Florida have we ever seen a pie go for that much and have the receipt for proof. Both dishes were huge! The lobster mac was very rich and creamy and the breadcrumbs on top gave a nice texture. They knocked it out of the park with this one! A beautiful restaurant with the capacity to have large parties with water views from every table. The bartender was professional and made me a dirty martini with three unstuffed green olives on a toothpick. The cocktail was perfect and hard to really screw up. The small mound of fish dip was unfortunately bland but came with a large amount of tortillas. My hubby loved to jalapeños pepper slices. The lobster roll and the blackened chicken salad were tasty. Came on a hot Saturday afternoon with a group of 18 friends for a casual, outdoor, fish focused lunch with live music. There was a big parking lot & valet available. The Cove Waterfront Tiki Bar is on the Intracoastal Waterway and I enjoyed the music & the boats passing by. We were covered so we didn't bake the big ass fans helped & the open air restaurant felt like a vacation. There is a dock right in front and many boats pulled up to dock and dine. The Cove has been here since 1963 and it's become an institution. I feel like I was here with my parents in the 90s. Jerry Lehman's duo played while I perused the menu . Michaela took good care of us, service was on point but she needed a hand clearing our large table. The Asian tuna salad looked appealing, as did the sandwiches burgers, fish plates, and appetizers. The drinks look like they were the sugary mixes so I had a a spicy Bloody Mary. My ahi tuna salad was huge, reasonable, fresh and really delicious. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had a good lunch. We used to come here a lot many years ago. Back then it was a bit more run down/local tiki bar-ish and we even came here with my husband's kids. Last time I was here was with a girlfriend for a lobster special that was a couple years before covid. It's a tad more upscale/chic now. It has gorgeous wall decorations inside (it's still open air on 3 sides) and an area that looks almost like a jungle. The very large covered patio area offers a great view of the water and boats. As with everything everywhere prices are higher now. However, you can still navigate the menu for a not too crazy priced meal. They only have one menu -- it's the same for lunch and for dinner -- and no lunch specials. I asked. My husband got their classic cheeseburger that came with his requested well done fries. It had American cheese, lettuce and tomato on the toasted bun, too. He said it was very good. I got an order of mussels from their appetizer section. The mussels were described as "drunken" due to the white wine in the tomato, garlic and lemon sauce. They were not stingy with the garlic! The portion was much larger than expected and quite filling. It came with a slice of toasted bread. Now that we've been, I'm sure we will return sooner rather than later. read more
