Unfortunately, the cleanliness and service at the beginning didn't match the atmosphere. When we first sat down, one of our glasses had a lot of scratches and the other one was visibly dirty. When I asked for them to be changed, the waitress initially insisted it was just scratches, even though one was clearly dirty. She eventually replaced them, but the new glass was also heavily scratched, and what bothered me most was that she took the dirty glass and placed it on another table instead of taking it to be cleaned. The attitude at first felt a little dismissive and rude, although she did become much more polite and helpful as the night went on. Another downside was the bathroom cleanliness. It smelled like a public restroom, which really didn't fit the fancy atmosphere the restaurant was trying to create. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were.
