There are a lot of bars that have karaoke, but for some reason I keep going to Mikey's and I have no idea why! Here are some reasons: - A perfect stage with plenty of space for your karaoke fans to dance along too - A vast collections of songs...you'll find something that you like - There's a couple of TVs that display the words of the current song...so everyone can sing a long! - Everyone there always has a good time It's a strange mix of people that come to this bar, but we all have the goal to sing our favorite songs. The bar itself is pretty spacious, with a couple of pool tables and darts, and plenty of high tables to sit or lean on. The beer selection is kind of lacking, and generally a little more expensive to other bars. I'll admit, I usually don't drink much when I come here, I'd rather sing. If you like sweet tasting, boozy drinks then I would recommend getting the Volcano. A downside about the karaoke is that it can take well over an hour to sing your next song. One reason is because they have a lot of people that like to sing. Also their rotation is kind of funky. If I request my second song, and then someone after me requests their first song, then that person will go before me.

I find the food overpriced and underwhelming, and it takes forever to get. I've waited nearly an hour for an order of cheese curds, and the owner's attitude is so what! There are also stiff service fees for the food. They also have a bit of an attitude towards individual tickets; in fact, there was a space of time where individual tickets weren't even offered. Now they'll sell one but rest assured you'll be sitting with a stranger! I've never experienced this at any other venue. I don't like seeing bands here because it's a small space and the music is really too loud for that size of space. The owner is nice enough but some of the other guests can be a bit snotty; one actually shamed me for being by myself! I used to really like coming here. These days, I'm feeling a bit lukewarm. Meh.
