Never coming back. I was invited to have an easy dinner with my parents who are 79 and 94. I talked…read morethem out of The Hat to get Philly's Best since I had been eating there for decades. My mother raced down to the store since closes at 6pm on Saturdays. She made it with 15 minutes to spare. A couple of older ladies were sitting in a booth eating. Behind the counter was a female putting stuff away and a male scraping the grill. The male took her order and she ordered a cheesesteak, an italian, and a club sandwich along with some fries. Upon ordering the club sandwich the male behind the counter told her they were not serving any sliced meat sandwiches. She asked do you mean cold sandwiches and he replied yes. He then proceeded to make the cheesesteak and the italian but not the club. He never cooked any fries and they appeared in a metal to-go container. The two sandwiches he did make were ok but the fries were the nastiest fries I have ever tasted in my life. They were clearly old fries, not even reheated. You should be ashamed to serve a human being that garbage. Now on to why we will never be back. Your posted hours of operation are 10:30 to 6pm on Saturday. You should be open those hours, not putting stuff away and telling customers you cant make them food because you want to close up shop early. Furthermore the bs excuse you gave was clearly a lie as you made the Italian sub which has 3 different kinds of sliced meat and I have never once seen anyone slice meat on the spot to make a sandwich at Philly's. You had no problem making 2 more sandwiches for the gentleman that came in as our food was being bagged up so logic says the time she came in wasnt an issue. That was before your posted closing hours. I felt like crap because I talked them out of getting The Hat, your competition right down the street and then your service and your food SUCKED. As I said, we wont be back. I hope you closing up shop early was worth it.

Must say the Philly's Best Cheesesteak is one of the BEST if not the best. Bob and Andrea, thanks…read morefor creating such an awesome Philly experience. Located on Barranca, the staff were welcoming and friendly. A very robust menu. Hot and cold sandwiches, Herr chips, Dutch Birch beer, and Tastykakes! ..... If this is your FIRST visit to a Philly's Best, I highly recommend researching the online menu (no mobile app) at https://eatphillysbest.com/ ..... Read About Us I ordered Philly's Best bcz I wanted to try it, with everything in it. Worth the extra $1 to have the full experience. Taste? The Amoroso roll was soft and light; steak was chopped and tender mixing well with the onions, sweet peppers (that were sweet and slightly tart), and mushrooms. I've had a few Philly Cheesesteaks in LA and OC. The BEST cheesesteaks I find come from owners who grew up in Philly, forget the rest including bigbox and fastfood types (these are imitators), they don't compare. Authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches should be "overfilled" with ingredients and "messy" falling apart in your hands. (I compare it to The Hat pastrami, if you know what I mean.) The only drawback at this location was how it smelled when you opened the door. More like cleaning liquids than food smell (I literally had to hold my breath while entering), but eventually went away. I WILL definitely come back or one of the other 19 locations in Southern California. Highly recommend trying at least once. Happy Eating and Fight On !!!!

Despite driving back for over 1 hour, the cheesesteaks were delicious. They contained lots of meat and lots of cheeses. I had them add mushrooms to my steak. It was really delicious, tender, warm, and flavorful! I would definitely eat there again.

What a deal, how could I pass it up? So happy I came in for the first time. When I walked in, the decor was awesome. You can tell the owner is from Philly based on the wallpaper and the newspapers hanging up, which I really thought was a great touch. Service was awesome, was greeted right when I came in. I ordered the cooper classic and fries. Wow. The cheesesteak was amazing. Loaded with meat and cheese. I added grilled onions which were great. The bread was soft and warm and delicious. Part of the magic of a Philly cheesesteak is that it has to be wrapped for at least a few minutes (in my opinion) so that the hot meat steams and melds everything together. The fries were awesome, crispy, perfectly seasoned, fluffy inside. My order took just a few minutes after ordering to be ready. With the open kitchen you can watch them make your cheesesteak as you wait. Will definitely come back again!
