Today's National Cheesesteak Day. I ordered the Cooper Classic with fries and a drink. Of course I had to get a Tasty cake too. My Classic was delicious. Its been forever since I had Cheesesteak. I love the soft rolls. You can get your sandwiches Wit or without, I went with without. They just opened so nobody was here. Service is good. I will return.

Had a Philly Classic Cheesesteak it came with Thinly sliced steak cooked to order with melted white American cheese served on a genuine Amoroso roll it was so delicious and every bite you taste the melted cheese and onions. Also had cheese fries and it came with French fries that was salted good and nacho cheese on top and it went really well with the Cheesesteak. I love this place the service was good and the ambience was good to watch the sporting events

Delicious cheesesteaks and fresh soft bread shipped from Philadelphia, made with wiz.. we ordered from here after craving cheesesteaks and wanted to try a different place than we have prior. Ordered pickup, had a nice conversation with Josh, and got home to find one sandwich was made incorrectly. Called and they would replace it. Got back and picked up order and to our surprise- some tasty cake treats, extra sauces and a gift card to make up for the incorrect order. We called back to gratefully thank him for his kindness and the great sandwich and snacks. It's so nice to find a place that makes sandwiches that you're craving so good and treats you well after a mistake. I recommend phillys best- coming from NJ to Cali - you miss items from the east coast and this definitely brought me home. Thank you Josh we will definitely be back

Please don't come here. Philly cheesesteak was ground beef with veggies, flavor wasn't even all that. And the turkey sandwich is honestly one of the most driest sandwiches I have ever had. Even adding mustard or mayo didn't help. $30 down the drain.

They should rename this place Philly's Meh. I used to come here for a satisfying phillys cheesesteak. Had been a fan for decades. But something's been off with this particular location. Not sure if the other franchisees are the same, but ever since Covid they've gone down hill. First of all, even before the recent inflation they kept raising the price of their sandwiches, I get it, costs goes up but dang higher prices and shrinkflation? We started coming here less. However this past visit, was the worst one and the last time I'll ever come here. Hard to redeem after this experience. To start: 1) Cheesesteak - barely any cheese. As you can see in the pic, it seems like they're using half the cheese they normally did or used to. 2) Dry meat - I know freezer burned beef when I taste it. And maybe cause velocity has decreased due to poor value or something, I guess they're trying to save every buck they can. 3) Onion Rings - what seemed like a smaller portion than before wasn't really the issue, huge cakey batter and over cooked. Like the onion was mushy. Eww. Taste was ok though. The only two reasons why it's not 1 star review is that the workers were nice and the pickled peppers and kosher pickles were still as good as before. Just wished they didn't charge almost $5 for a soda fountain drink cause I decided that was a ripoff and couldn't wash down my dry, semi cheesy steak down. End of an era. There's a Phillys Best in Lake Forest, the first I've been to long ago... going to try that place and hope it's still good.

A legit Philly Cheesesteak is a beautiful thing, and you can get one at this place, no cap. The drill is you order and pay at the counter, and they let you know when your order is ready. The steaks are cooked to order the traditional way and placed in an Amoroso roll, which is the only way. I'm going to patronize this place more in the hope it sticks around. Irvine has more than its share of noodle shops and hot pot shops.

Food - Philly cheesesteak, hoagies, burgers, fries, onion rings and salads. I usually order the classic or Philly's best cheesesteak but i love their Philly's best burgers believe it or not. I find this type of burger to be unique amongst the other burgers because of the Philly style. I so wanted to share my burger except I ate it all before I could even take a picture! Service - none other than order at the counter. Clean up after yourself. Ambiance - really feels like your local burger joint or even a slight Philly vibe I guess. Verdict - really a no brainer. If you are feeling some Philly in Cali, then this is a decent place to go to

I would've taken a better photo but I couldn't wait to dive in!

Is this the same as Philly Cheesesteaks?

If you are asking about a place called Philly Cheesesteaks, no. If you are asking if they are authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, yes. Only place my family, from Philly, will eat a cheesesteak outside of Philly.

    How are the salads?

Never had a salad there but the sandwiches are to die for.

Still low priced as ever. its like $2-4 more expensive now but damm for a decade thats such low climb. $8 for a damm delicious ooey gooey sandwich? hell fucking yes? '26 oops i never posted it. Swiss connection is now a whopping $10.5. highway robbery it is. But the bread is still unmatched for pillowy cheweyness (hot will get u a crisped exterior so always go for hot). Carrot n Daikons baguette would be my second for bread but their bread is thin flakey fall apart outside with a more airy pillowy interior. most important. do not say no to the mustard and whatever the other thing they ask if is ok to put in. the LeDIP experience is a whole deal ok. it's all or nothing. just like it should be in normal restaurants ok, like the shirt shoes and pants requirement? all or nothing. if you went to a restaurant without pants, you would not experience the experience as it was intended. take it all or leave empty handed ok? unless you're actually allergic to something. but like are u living if you miss out on the perfect combo of savory and cutting sourness? i acquired an allergy to shrimp and once a year i'll still boiling crab a lb of shrimp and just premedicate on Benadryl hoping i don't die. oh it's so good. god it itches so bad. ah so succulent. whole experience! hot french connection- can i eat this first please? oh my god i don't think i ever appreciated the soft pillowy softness of the baguette in my younger years. the outside crust is the thinnest crisp and yields immediately (unlike Lee's Trashwiches where the stale crust cuts the roof of your mouth). Simple sandwich but sometimes the best things are the simple things. Cold Swiss Connection - the only reason i get it cold is cuz this is my breakfast & lunch for the next day. so no point in melting it prematurely. i honestly can't decide between the two, so i just get both. the difference is Swiss cheese here vs the brie in the french. update-its like 10.5 now cry. and get it hot! i was wrong! it ooooozes Parking - shared with the whole center, plenty. Payment - cash, credit chip 5, or venmo? No Pay unfortunately. Credit chip wouldnt read my card either, took 3 tries, and u need to manually hold it down cuz its not secured so....not really contactless. '26 theyve modernized, apple pay now accepted so yayy. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" The process felt confusing and could have been communicated more clearly. Overall, I thought the sandwich was delicious and a great portion size. However, I think the to-go process could use some improvement. I ended up eating my sandwich in the restaurant because I could already see the bread becoming soggy when I picked it up, which wasn't part of my original plan.

I got there just as the order was predicted to be done, but I ended up waiting another 10 minutes, which was fine for me. It's a sparsely decorated sandwich spot, with a little bit of seating, but it's clear this is a grab-n-go type place. After picking up the sandwiches, I cut both in half and ate half of each. I can't really remember what I got, but that was kind of besides the point anyways. They offer a variety of breads, so I opted for dutch crunch and a regular french roll. The dutch crunch wasn't as good as others I've had from other notable sandwich places, but the french roll was great! I liked the construction of the sandwiches, as they were tightly wrapped and not over-stuffed. Good ratios and not too large as to not be able to wrap your mouth around it. But as for the content itself, I just wasn't blown away. It was perfectly normal, but I didn't feel anything beyond that. As a lunch place, I feel like it's a good option if you want a sandwich, but if you've got something closer to you that is marginally similar, I'd head there first.
