This place brings back a lot of great old memories for me. It's honestly sad to see how empty it has become these days. The burgers are still just as good as I remember, which says a lot about the consistency over the years. I really wish the owners would invest in renovating the space and bringing some life back into it. With a little attention to the atmosphere and some stronger marketing, this place could easily become popular again. It has so much potential and history--it would be a shame to see it fade away. Well, this is one of those reviews where it's to me, completely 50-50. Many things I liked here and many things that I could give constructive feedback upon. What was good? The people /customers here are down to earth, it seems like many came here after a church service. We did too actually lol . Half of our family did not like the food, and the other half thought it was great. Keep in mind one person who liked it, was/is a smoker, his taste buds may be off. The other person is someone who likes quantity over quality. My other daughter just sampled the food. I kind of likewise did the same. Have you ever gone to restaurant or everything seems to be just OK? I found nothing delicious. The four meals total costed $42 only. Only the owner, was at the service counter, register, drive-through she did it all. In regard to service, I asked for napkins, she said they're on your tray, not giving me any extra. The majority of people in line were senior citizens. Perhaps they are used to waiting patiently at the establishment. The slab of I would call it butter, but I think it was margarine or something was almost as thick as the pancake it was on. Pancake syrup was high fructose and corn syrup. Just basically anything tasty and not healthy for me. When I asked for hot sauce, there's nothing on the table, my dear I had my choice of only one choice, and with my potatoes, I only like Tabasco sauce, so that did not make me happy. There was an interesting payphone that I asked one of my kids for a quarter for, but it had no dial tone. I read a review about the goldfish here in the tank, and yes, they are correct. It would be nice if it had perhaps something fun in the tank with it, such as bubbles or aquatic plant? In hindsight, I would go back just to ask if they would like to sell their payphone ! lol or I have a friend that needs a hamburger, and isn't picky. There are three pancakes for five dollars, I think I would so late come here for the pancakes again, but without that huge slab of "margarine" on top ! Oh ambience, I forgot to chat about that, well if you don't mind sitting in slippery plastic booth, or having a mismatch of even foldable chairs, then this is the place to go! read more

Food is mediocre, maybe even below mediocre. Restaurant setting could be better. Looks very run down. There's a drive thru but the speaker sucks. You wait like 5+ mins just for the owner to talk rude to you. "What do you want?" "That's it?" Or just doesn't speak again for a long period of time. I told her my order & she didn't say anything after that so I stayed at the speaker just in case she didn't hear what I said. A good 10 mins go by & she just tells me to pull up. When I pull up she opens the window & says "are you guys good? Usually when I customer is done saying their order they let me know" and I said "well you didn't say anything afterwards how I am supposed to know if you heard me or not?" & she just rolls her eyes & says "is that it?" Food isn't good, I'm sure they don't pass all of the health code regulations just by the looks of it. Don't waste your time or money to come to this place. The lady is rude & has no common decency. Food is amazing. I had the California burger with fries. It was exquisite. I also had the breakfast burrito. It was out of this world. The lady taking the orders is so sweet. I don't think enough people take the time to ask her how she's doing. If the order takes too long she'll let the kitchen know that is unacceptable. I have driven by this locally owned Burger stop for years and I never went in. I finally did and I'm glad. The place is huge and spacious inside so you can find a table and you don't have to sit next to anybody. But you got a TV playing so you can get your Fox TV on during the day. I came here for lunch with a friend for the first time. I was impressed with how clean the restaurant was. The lady (I believe she is the owner) who took our order was friendly and very patient as we looked over their large menu. I had the pastrami burger and it was delicious. We also had the zucchini and they were the best I have had in a long time. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. My son and his friends used to walk here after school. They love the owner because she was always so nice to them. Last week I drive 5 of the kids to an away basketball game and stopped at a Carls Jr in the way. My bill was $80 and i was given the wrong drinks! Today I brought the same 5 kids to Burger Town on the way to their game. I got 5 cheeseburger specials, all with different drinks, and each burger was different (no tomato but add bacon, only onion, only lettuce, etc) and my bill was $46! The burgers and fries were so much better too! AND our complicated order was perfect! Yes, the food takes a little longer than the average drive through but the food is made to order. The kids inhaled their burgers because they were so good! We always get great service here because we come often and the owner remembers us, especially when there's a car full of kids in school uniforms. Food took a long time to come out then was super cold! Even the pastrami had cold grease like it had been sitting out. The bread was hard and the onions in the burgers were very thick. Fries were cold and no flavor. Onion rings were burnt. Hamburgers had no flavor and very little sauce. Yellow chilis were good . The chili was very sweet like cinnamon and was not good. The food is nostalgic. Small diner vibes! The breakfast bacon sandwiches are my favorite! I crave them! I don't get the negative reviews for the owner. I have had breakfast here a time or two which was good. Mostly, I have had their hamburger special. A hamburger with lettuce, tomato, red onion, thousand island dressing, etc. This comes with a mountain of French fries and a fountain drink. At this time, the price is a very reasonable $6.95. I struggle to eat this because it is a fair amount of food. I read some reviews complaining about the speed of the drive thru. I have not tried the drive thru. However, when you consider that they cook all the food fresh per order. No mountains of food waiting under heat lamps like most fast food chains. Seems reasonable to wait for freshly cooked food at a fair price. I like supporting this mom and pop business. read more

Tables, floors, and window ledges clean however ceiling tiles and vents could use a scrub. Small operation with one counter person (nice lady - probably owner), she works order and drive-thru window kbe patient) was kind, helpful and accommodate my meal change with no extra fee. Prices are very reasonable and they offer specials. I'm surprised I have been coming to this area for so long, and I've only tried this place a few times. Anyway, I stopped by today for a late lunch and ordered the Ortega burger with fries. Not only was the burger fresh and delicious, but so were the fries. The fries were hot and really good. Not sure if there was a recent management change, but I don't recall the food tasting this great. Oh, and the prices are great too. The workers were very friendly too. My husband and I tried this place out today and the breakfast was delicious and affordable too! We have been to the location in Fontana but were skeptical about trying this one after seeing so many comments on the poor service. Glad we decided to try it anyway because we had a positive experience. The lady at the front counter (owner I'm assuming) was very nice to us. If anything I'd say she's probably stressed out and rushing to get everything done herself. She was the only one I saw taking orders both inside the restaurant and drive-thru. And she must've asked someone to park on the side to wait for their drive-thru order because at one point we saw her take food out to a car. Again, she was the only one working the front counter and taking drive-thru orders when we were there, so I don't think she's "rude", she's just in a hurry.
