Started another season of golf with 3 long time friends. The course is in great shape. There was a lot of rain the past few days and they allowed us to play " high and dry". No lost golf balls was a plus, this is a great course. There are 3 nines. North , south and west, easiest to more difficult. You must take a cart, there is distance between the holes. The staff is welcoming and the rangers do not hassle you. Great food, definitely have lunch. read more

RUDEST RANGER EVER!!! 9/13/24 Today a group of 4 men behind us, accused us (3 women) of cutting in front of them. We explained that a group previously behind us got in front of us at the turn. They called the course who sent out a ranger to check into it. He demanded to see our receipt after erroneously accusing us of starting on the wrong first 9. After providing our receipt he just left without apologizing to us for the erroneous accusation - so rude! read more

I've played Pheasant Run a number of years ago, and happened to get some GroupGolfer coupons to try it again. The layout on the North/South is very good, and while cut through a sub division, the housing is far enough away from everything that you don't really take notice. However, this time we played the West/North, which was a first for me. I'm a straight hitter, but just don't like the look of housing this close to the course. The main issue with this layout, however, is the fairway position relative to the OB. On several holes, the play is to aim in the rough, which is essentially the "center line" between the right and left OB stakes. I'm thinking specifically of holes 20-22, but there were a couple of others as well. The other goofy hole is #24, with the giant tree in the middle of the fairway. I know designers think they are being "clever" when doing this, but it offers zero value to the course. The hole is decent enough without the tree: A short 4 with a relatively difficult approach shot to an uphill shallowish green. The other oddity of the West course is the tee box length compared to the North and South. We ended up mixing it up, playing the White on the West (which was a bit short), and black on the North. The white on the west is only 3022, but the next tees back are 3377. Seems strange when the North Black is 3181. The other disappointing aspect were the greens, but I'm going to mostly give a pass on this visit because we just had a monsoon in the prior week. It's pretty clear this course floods out, as many low lying areas had evidence of flooding, and actually smelled pretty bad. Also little disappointing that the grille wasn't open past 5pm on a Saturday! Our group was ready to drop another $100-150 on dinner, so we went to Applebee's about 3 miles away instead. I read issues about pace of play, but our round was 4:15, which was just fine considering the amount of travel between holes (especially on the West). We had a 6-some in front of us, but they were playing a 2-team 3-man bachelor party scramble. They actually moved along quite well, and kept up with the foursome in front of them, so no worries there. On a side note, the cart paths need some TLC, they are kidney busters, and the carts are in really bad shape. We had one with a torn seat, worn brakes (had to crunch down on the pedal!) and the motor sounded like it was about to blow on any hole. Our GroupGolfer coupon was only $32, which certainly is a good deal on a weekend. I don't think I would pay over $50 for this course, however, unless their greens improve. I would also stay away from the West course and play north/south if I get back here. read more

A great layout and varying levels of difficulty and length, dependent on tee selection. Staff is friendly and practice facilities are good. Pleased they got some good craft beers in the bar this year, too. Thankful to have this one as my home course. Unfortunately, the greens have been uncharacteristically poor this year. Long, riddled with ball marks, and just plain bumpy. Hole positions seem to move infrequently, so spike marks are a problem as well. My hope is that they'll refocus a bit on course conditions. read more

I took a morning playing at this course by renting club, and have to give thumb up to 2 gentalemen at pro shop giving me help on timely tee time and club arrangement, and team up with group in time... very professional and kind. good course too! read more

I really enjoy this course... Some say it's over-priced, but I have yet to pay for a round which was non-twilight or early-bird. As far as the courses I have played in the Wayne county area, this one is the best maintained by far. Each hole also has about 5 tee boxes so you can always challenge yourself if you start getting good at the course. Pheasant Run has 27 holes, I'd describe one set of 9 as mainly carved through a sub-division, the second set in the woods and the 3rd set as a combination of both. The staff is very nice and the starters are friendly, when they come around they make small talk, while still being very professional. When the weather is good in the fall, I loved to get in discounted rates in October after work/school. read more

Love the course, but pace of play can be horrific. Rangers do nothing to inform slower players that they should play ready golf. Expect a 5-hour round or tee off before 8 am. read more

Horrible course. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful plus there was garbage on the greens.

I played this course for the first time a month ago at a charity scramble. I was impressed by the design and by the presentation of all aspects of the facility and the people who work there. The entire event was terrifically organized and presented- topped off by a wonderful meal. Today I returned with a friend to play a regular round. Again the course is in great condition. I used every club in my bag. The shorter holes have their risk reward strategies. Some of the fairways are narrow enough to tempt you to bring out your 3 wood. We played in 4 hours, rarely waited to shoot and enjoyed every minute. We will return with some better strategies We had a laugh at one sign: To avoid the poison ivy, stay out of the woods. Lunch at the cafe serve excellent food with thoughtful touches like home cut fries. This operation has class and a commitment to customer service that shows throughout the experience.
