We had to try this place since cheesesteaks are one of our loves. This is a mom and pop shop with amazing service and good food. It was so packed inside, almost every table was filled! We sat outside since the weather was great. I got the 12" cheesesteak with provolone no onions please, with a side of fries, and a Dr. Pepper. The soda fountain must have been set up right, one of the best, sizzling, nose burning, bubbly sodas EVER. Ok, back the cheesesteak with provolone. It was GOOD beef flavor, melty cheese, and some mayo and BOOM.

This place was amazing. Very clean and inviting. Not only was the food perfect but the woman working was lovely and the customer service was top notch. My husband had a cheesesteak with wiz that melted in your mouth and I had the tuna, which was real albacore (not a mix). Both were great and we can't wait to return and try new menu items.

A bit pricey for the quality and size of the sandwich. We went the morning of the Super Bowl so the wait was far longer than it probably normally is but was still very long. They prioritized phone orders to people waiting in the restaurant. The sandwich needed way more cheese because the meat wasn't very coated. Not a bad sandwich by any means, just not sure I'd visit regularly.

Came here for the first time for the cars and cheesesteak show. What better than the 2 together!? It was a good turnout of people. This place is a cute mom and pop spot. The cashier helped me with recommendations, she was super sweet! I got the 12in cheesesteak meal with fries and a drink. It was delicious! Cheesesteak was perfect and fries were nice and crispy. I saw on their menu they even offered banh mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich which I plan on trying on my next visit.

A great cheesesteak, good French fries and a nicely appointed Philadelphia-themed restaurant make for a great lunch. This is a small, mostly takeout spot. The woman behind the counter is super friendly, and her family own and operate the place. Definitely recommend. Great experience.

I have been looking for a GOOD Philly cheesesteak and I am happy to say, I have finally found one! So much so we have been back since we first went last week. I first wanted to address some of the concerns from other reviewers about "it went downhill" or "not liking the new owners". If the cheesesteak I had was "downhill" I'm not sure what uphill would I've been because this thing was GOOD. The meat was savory and delish. The cheese whiz. The onions. I mean, my mouth is watering now thinking about it. I also love that I can choose what cheese. White American, whiz, provolone, cheddar... but always stick with the classics kids. Also, the man I interacted with on both occasions was the most delightful human. Very kind, patient, informative, and remembered me a week later. We have had an OG cheesesteak, the Korean cheesesteak (which was delish), the Shazam, and the Banh Mi cold sandwich. Everything was great and it's our go to from now on. I would 100% recommend trying it!

Phila Deli is a small cheesesteak sandwich shop. You can dine inside at a few tables or outside at a few tables. Recently the ownership has changed and there are some new changes to the menu. Today the cheesesteak seemed the same as before. It's a good cheesesteak but I'm from Philadelphia so I expect cherry peppers and Philadelphia style bread. But still its a good sandwich. We tried the two Summer Specials The Albacore Tuna Hoagie and the Bulgogi fries. Both were VERY GOOD! The Tuna hoagie was very flavorful and delicious. I didn't mind it on that bread. I also really liked the bulgogi Fries. We got ours without the cheese and they were so tasty and the meat was very moist.....I think anyone would like them.....Maybe in the future they can add a bulgogi steak sandwich to the menu? I think it could be a hit! The old owners were very nice.......and we do miss them. And the new owners also seem nice so that is a win. The new additions to the menu really are very good! We wish the new owners best wishes!

Most of these reviews are from before the original owners, who were from Philadelphia, sold the place to Asian owners. The new owner has kept all the original Philadelphia artifacts, but has no connection to the city of Brotherly love. He doesn't use rolls from Philly, claims he uses ribeye, took a two week class on how to cook cheesesteaks and had added several Korean dishes to the menu. He has kept most of the original menu in order to fool previous customers that the food they are eating is being made by a guy from Philly. In my opinion, this is a classic example of a bait and switch situation. He has also accused me of being racist because I pointed out he was Asian or a variation of Asian. The definition of authentic can be twisted in many ways, but being from Philly and making a cheesesteak at least gives the feeling of being authentic. This situation is just fradulant, but wait the food could actually be good anyway right? Read original "racist" review below. Have never been here, but not sure how much things changed since the Korean owners took over. There are several Korean things on the menu. I just went for the traditional cheesesteak with white American cheese, which was almost $14 for a small and only onions are included. They claim they use ribeye. Nothing really special about the cheesesteak except it was a bit salty and didn't have alot of onions.. It didn't do much for me, but if you had a craving, this could help one time perhaps, if you want to pay $15 for a basic sandwich.

A few weeks ago, we were back on the east coast visiting family. Hubby's family loves to get cheesesteaks on the Jersey Shore. We had them from two different places and were disappointed. They skimped on the meat and just really lacked flavor. Back in AZ, hubby was craving a cheesesteak, so I told him to do some research. He was checking Yelp and I told him to look for a place run by someone from Philly or look for reviews from people who used to live there. Anyone can make a steak & cheese sub, but there's something special about Philly cheesesteaks. He found Phila-Deli and between the reviews and the ownership, we decided this was the place we'd go. I'll say it right now - we'll be going back! Hubby got a regular cheesesteak and I decided on the one with sauce. First, there was no skimping on the meat. And it was flavorful. The veggies were a nice undertone, letting the meat shine. And the cheese and sauce blended so well. I was impressed that I wasn't getting a heavy tomato flavor but instead it enhanced the cheese flavor. And the roll was exactly what a cheesesteak roll should be. It was perfectly soft and cradled the filling beautifully. They are located just off the 101 at 59th Ave - not exactly in my neighborhood, but worth the drive. There's a small seating area inside, and black & white Philly photos adorn the walls. The owner is definitely from the Philly area and we had a nice chat with him. Very friendly and takes pride in his business.

This is a hidden gem!! Holy good cheesesteak! Everything is made to order, so they accommodate anything!! Rolls are soft, good seasoning on meat, good cheese pull, and they recommend adding marinara -- this was a first for me but I would do it again in a heart beat! Fries are crisp and delicious! Overall great lunch!! Can't wait to come back again!

What a bummer... this place started out good, but the last few times and tonight (which will be our last) was not do good. It seems like they are cutting corners. The subs we got tonight were dry, very skimpy of cheese, mushrooms, and onions. We love to support small family-owned businesses, but they are not near as good as they used to be. read more

Regular club was fine. Could always use more meat and cheese especially considering the price. The chicken Parmesan was less expensive too. How does that work. Then after you simply order a sandwich the system asks for a tip...... tacky. I would go back but the cost is too high. Firehouse subs is less expensive and close to this location and less expensive too. read more

We had this amazing philly cheese place in Ohio but here in Phoenix seemed to have a Philly cheesesteak desert. We have had some that are dry, over cooked, rubbery and even chewy. I had given up hope on finding a decent one. My hope had been restored when my husband found this place on Yelp. We both had the original cheesesteaks with cheez whiz (the true philly way) and onions. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. They were simple yet absolutely delicious. We also split the cheese fries which were crispy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The restaurant is very cute, clean and nicely decorated. The two women that were working were very friendly and you could tell that they both enjoyed working there. Thank you for the Philly cheesesteak oasis in the desert! read more

Best cheesesteak I've had since moving to AZ, and I've been actively looking! Also, some of the best fries I've had in a very, very long time. The bacon cheese fries were absolutely perfect. All of the food was very fresh and properly made, the cheesesteak could have stood to have a little more cheez whiz, but that's just my personal preference (I'll just order it with extra next time). Owner was incredibly friendly and attentive, will absolutely be coming back! read more

Place was fantastic. Pre ordered on the way back from Sedona. It was ready nice and hot when I picked it up. Headed back to my hotel and dire wolfed that 12 inch beast down the hatch while watching GOT S8 E 1! It was just as great as some of the true Philly Cheesesteaks I have had while in Philly. I've actually had a Philadelphia cheesesteak at both of the stands that take credit for inventing the sandwich. I never thought I could get a cheesesteak as good as theirs anywhere else, but Phila Deli makes that statement wrong. Phila Deli's cheesesteaks are just as tasty, and even more so, than the originals. Well worth the trip to 59th Ave and 101 in Glendale. Hot, fresh and made to order by people who are friendly, courteous, helpful, and most importantly know how to create an outstanding cheesesteak. read more

Eh, the plastic bag the food came in was all oily inside, the sandwich was eating away at the wrapper, maybe because the specialty pizza style one has more oil, but when trying to eat it, was falling apart and ate half of it with a fork. Will try a regular cheesesteak sandwich next time. read more

Finally found a really good philly cheesesteak sandwich. Meat tasted great. Very lean with grill onions, provolone and very good bread. This place is largely a take out place but there are a few tables and chairs. They have many other sandwiches but my wife and I both had the traditional cheesesteak. Excellent! read more

Hole in the wall, very small place. Most authentic cheesesteaks in the city. I wish they would expand on their menu though. Maybe add some Tastycakes or Wise potato chips. lol I hope they do well. Many different options to choose from but the Korean Philly and Bacon Mushroom Cheesesteak are packed with flavor and my personal favorite. My wife and I tried this place for our first time and boy, were we sure glad that we did, Hot and delicious made to order cheese steak sandwich with all the goodies ( melt in your mouth) and we also had the Hot Italian sub, Both we're Amazing and and their fries are the best. We met the new owners, Jackson and Adina ( husband and wife ) they are so friendly and nice, they told us how there dream has finally come true, so everyone needs to try this place and support them, I promise that you will be glad that you did. I have eaten here twice, both times getting the Philly cheesesteaks. Both times sandwiches were hot, made to order fresh and quite good. French fries were also hot, crispy and delicious. Very good cheese steak joint in Arizona. As a side I had the cheese fries. The fries were cut to the perfect thickness and fried to perfection. The cheese on the fries were a perfect melt. I had the cheese steak hoagie and that was delicious. I had the small size; which was still a very large amount of food. Crispy roll, fresh ingredients, and the meat was sliced thin. I wish there was some crispness to the meat, but it was still good. Id recommend to anyone! read more

I've always drove by this place leaving the gym, but I've never stopped even though I always wanted to. I finally did, and I am so glad that I did. I spent some time in Philly and learned the beauty of the art of cheesesteaks. This place is Definitely one of the better authentic Philly cheesesteaks here in Phoenix. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone and definitely will be returning here more often. read more

After a disappointing trip to Philly Grill in Tempe where they use ground beef and call it a Cheese Steak...I was glad to get a real Cheese Steak here!Simple and plain,it's a good authentic PA/Philly sandwich.I'm a half hour away but wouldn't hesitate to drive for one of these!Thanks for making up for the "imposters" over in Tempe!!! read more

It looked like 10 people were working. I had a mobile order, walked up the pick up area and the girl just kinda looked at me. I said, hi, I have a mobile order and then she just smiled. Yeah, confusing. So I waited; I didn't see any orders on the shelf yet- but a, 'we're working on your order', would have been useful. I decided to visit the restrooms. For having 10 people working, they should have been spotless, but they weren't. Needed glass cleaner (spots over the mirror), the floor already looked dirty, the soap dispenser was a little gooey and there was a napkin on the floor (I picked it up for them as a courtesy). Mamas= There is NOT a changing table in either restroom stall, I checked both :( Feedback to Manager- get a changing table, a baby will be coming through this spot at some point with their parent and it would be super helpful. Sandwiches: well made and tasted great. I asked for Mayo on the side, but it was not in the bag. Overall, looks pretty and new inside but with this many people working and for it being brand new I would have expected much better service, hellos, smiles and communication. Then she put other topping while obviously annoyed with me. I then asked for vinegar and oil -- omg it's like a fountain!! Got home (less than a mile) and my bread was completely soggy on half. Overall, a few doors down is amazing sandwiches. I was hoping this was great but it's average at most. The customer service needs some too. Might give it one more try in a few months -- hopefully work out some kinks.

The sandwiches were really good though. The only difference between the regular and the large is that the large just has more steak. We were kind of worried it might be too salty with the cheese, but it was actually really balanced and super tasty. It's a solid spot for a quick, satisfying meal.

Phila Deli AZ is an absolute gem of a place! it has become my go-to spot for a quick bite. Great customer service and inviting atmosphere. The portions are great for the price & it's definitely worth supporting a small business!! (Not sure why there's negative reviews simply for the price...it's called taxes & inflation..) The cheesesteaks have perfectly grilled steak that's tender and flavorful. You can totally tell the cooks are passionate about their work! I recommend the Cheeseburger. They also offer a variety of cold and hot subs on Italian hoagie rolls. My favorite is the American Club. Comes with bacon!! I also tried one of their cheesecakes, that are made in the store. Next time I'll have to grab a homemade Ghirardelli chocolate Cookie or muffin... They also offer a nice selection of specialty bottled drinks that are hard to find elsewhere.
