I am not the type to leave reviews... but I HAD to for this spot. We stopped in on a whim and ended up finding our new favorite sub spot. From the moment we walked in, the owner took time to talk with us and you can tell he truly cares about his customers and his craft. The sandwich itself was stacked, super fresh, and honestly way beyond what we were expecting... to think we were going to go to subway lol. Cheesecake was absolutely bomb: rich, creamy, and the perfect ending to the meal. You can feel the pride in this place, and it shows in both the food and the hospitality. Can't wait to come back and I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a legit, high-quality sub shop. read more

First time and I wouldn't chance going back and getting a sandwich with 5 pieces of roast beef on it and 95% all bread. Front checkout lady couldn't give recommendations on anything and when asked about price got a pointed finger to the sign. Mr pickles is very similar of a sandwich but they put a good amount meat. This place was all bread lol Thought they might try and impress us cause they looked deserted, but figured out quick there's probably a reason for that! UPDATE: Next time put a smile on your face and be happy to assist new customers. We didn't feel welcomed and your attitude changed when you noticed mine did and I had discussed going somewhere else for service. It wasn't about toppings or 2$ off a sandwich. It was about first time impressions and a not so welcoming interaction when we asked questions. As far as meat proportions. Let's just agree to disagree. read more

Service was fine, they were friendly. We got our sandwiches to go. It was about $50 for 3 sandwiches only (plus tip) I'm not sure how much the drinks and chips are, as I didn't order them. They also have dessert options too, but I didn't order them since I already had sweets. They sell lots of flavors of Zapp's, which is my favorite brand of chips. Def recommend those. I tried the "Stevie Nicks". They said their "Dutch crunch" bread was a favorite. I tried it. He said it was going to be denser, than I may expect. Well, it was very dense. I suppose it's good to hold in the sauces, but they do also have sourdough, and I think I might actually have preferred that...it was an okay sandwich overall. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I did have it with the lettuce, tomato and onions and banana peppers, along with some their sauce. I didn't read the sauce info beforehand closely, bc I thought the sauce combo was mid. I only needed half a sandwich, and saved the other half for tomorrow. Mini got the Chester Bennington. She said the chicken was juicy and she liked the barbecue sauce but overall the sandwich was just okay. I also bought the "rockin reuben" for the honey. He said it was a small sandwich, and it was only okay and he was still hungry afterwards and I think he was a little jelly it wasn't as big as mine. I think had a music/Arizona theme. Posters on the wall from stars from Az or Az movies. If you love the color red, there's lots of it. T-shirts on the wall, and on the tables they had info about where the selected names for the sandwiches came from. Overall, it was okay. What a fun & delicious discovery! I found this on Yelp as it was near Home Depot where I needed to run some errands. I was delighted to find that the sandwich shop was right next to a Jazz/ Blues place!! Score! Before you go into the shop, they have a "sandwich" board outside that describes the sandwiches with their music themed names. Yay! That reduces the pressure of reading all the interesting menu items inside the shop while they patiently stare at you trying to make a decision! I'm became a fan before I even walked in! I quickly ordered (because I stood outside and made my decision) then sat at one of their tables by the window. Read the tabletop description of how the sandwiches got their name. Fun way to pass the time. They brought me a ginormous and beautifully presented sandwich. I got the Dutch Crunch bread on my First Responder sandwich. Not music themed, but a nod to our First Responders that strive to keep us safe. It had pineapple and ham with a sweet sauce. Yum! Of course, I couldn't finish the whole thing. They saw me coming to the counter and politely handed me a to-go box They are aware of their patrons and their needs . It's also next to a White Dove Thrift shop so you can walk off some of those calories as you look around in air conditioning comfort. All around great experience! I will be back! Enjoy! read more

Where has this sandwich spot been all my life!!! As a lover of sandwiches & Arizona native- this place is the best! The fresh flavors, the bread, high quality ingredients, the dedication to quality is everything! I got the Waylon Jennings and a make your own with Dutch crust, turkey, bacon, cranberry, cream cheese, loaded veggies. I ordered each of their speciality sauces. Oh my goodness the flavoring is delicious I could drink them all!!! Both sandwiches were some of the best I have ever had. Portions are very generous. Half of a sandwich could suffice for a full. This sandwich shop is a hidden gem in the NW valley and a new favorite. The ingredients are high quality, the menu is extensive and I just love the AZ music theme. We ordered The Phoenix Incident - delicious with just the right amount of pesto - and the AZ Rattler - terrific on sourdough with all the toppings. So glad I found the Sandwich Spot! I ordered the Carefree Highway. My go to bread is sourdough, which they offer, but upon the owner's recommendation I tried the Dutch Crunch. So glad I did. All the ingredients are fresh and high quality. I ordered a whole sandwich and it was huge. If you are anywhere near there, you have to give them a try. Support a small business. I've eaten here twice. If you're in the area, this is where to get a sandwich. I got John (owner) to tell me more about the business and he told me about how the meat is high grade (black rated/no additives) and locally sourced. Each tuna sandwich is made with fresh individually canned tuna instead of a big tub of tuna mush. He said something about hypo allergenic seeds only, I don't remember. The guy cares about quality. I told him customers should know all of this. Other chain sandwich shops are not looking out for you like this. Not to mention the sandwiches tasted great! read more

The sandwiches are artfully curated, yet the ability to customize isn't lost. I enjoyed the Linda Rodstadt (chicken, bacon, avocado and pepper jack cheese) on Dutch Crunch bread, and added lettuce, tomato and onion, as well as Bomb Sauce (jalapeño ranch). It was INCREDIBLE. The half sandwich would've been enough to fill me up, but I opted for the full size so that I had some to take home with me. Cheesecake is baked in house (wow) so of course I had to get two slices to go; one Oreo cookie, the other a deliciously decadent apple pie version. The sandwich artists are attentive, polite, consistent and fast working. They're able to help guide you through your order or are ready to take directions as quickly as you can give them. The atmosphere is also very cool. It's got a laid back, garage band feel that made me want to hang out for a while and relax. The Who, David Bowie, Alice Cooper and more of my favorites were playing the whole time. As I walked out, I realized they have Touch Tunes, so I sincerely could listen to anything I wanted. 10/10. Was driving down Bell rd when I saw the "Sandwich Spot" sign and had to explore this new shop. The owner was there, and was super friendly as I perused the extensive list of sandwiches. Went with the Raising Arizona. The sourdough bread was perfect as was the cooked chicken with fresh pineapple and a wonderfully flavored teriyaki (I also added BBQ sauce). Was surprised by the price for an 8 inch sandwich, but the sandwich was top notch. Went ahead and tried the apple pie cheesecake for dessert, which was damn good (but not as good as Banhams Cheesecake, to be honest). I'll be back as I am curious about at least a dozen more of their sandwiches. read more

The Sandwich Spot is such a unique fun spot! Their menu and decor is centered around Arizona music and movies. It's a blast in to the past while you enjoy the modern but modestly neat atmosphere. Loved its quirkiness! They have indoor seating with comfortable chairs and some outdoor seating as well. We love to sit outside this time of year but opted to sit inside to soak up the vibes. I ordered the #1 The Waylon Jennings and my partner ordered the #2 The Marty Robbins. The sandwiches were delicious and the bread! The wheat and sourdough bread were perfect. The also have a touch tunes machine as well as dry ice cream AND Zapps chip brand. Just found this Glendale gem hidden in a plaza and I am so glad I tried it! I ordered a number 4 I think, the gin blossoms and it was so yummy and creamy!!! The cranberry gave the perfect amount of sweetness, too! And it was even better reheated the next day! The owners are super friendly and down to earth! They made me feel like I was a local regular already! And they have cool free stickers!
