I am SO glad I found this company! My move was probably the only part of my home sale process that went right. The PhilaGorilla crew (Justin, Racquan, and Weston) was fantastic from start to finish. Good communication, friendly, professional, and super accommodating -- I needed different items taken to two different locations, and they packed the truck accordingly and efficiently. They moved some larger/awkward items (like a couple of huge potted plants from the backyard) without batting an eye, and the level of care they took with everything was such a pleasant surprise (padding, wrapping). As far as I can tell not a single thing broke, and I can't say that about any other moving company I've ever used. I was also giving away a few furniture items the day of the move, and not only did the guys disassemble a bed to take downstairs for the person picking it up, they took the time to help him get it loaded and strapped to his car. They really went above and beyond the whole day, and despite it being a long one they wrapped up close to the time they had estimated. I really can't say enough good things about their service. PhilaGorilla Movers were excellent! I would definitely recommend them for any move! Christian was responsive and answered all my e-mails. Scheduling was easy and they sent me a calendar invite. On the day the movers arrived, they called me about 45 minutes before the arrived time to let me know they would arrive on time. We had some logically difficulties with our move like our apartment being tucked away behind a courtyard and up some stairs. Then our new house had a block party that same day. The movers were not stressed about this and that put us more at ease. They wrapped up all my stuff like drawers and my couch in plastic wrap. They were careful lifting things and putting things down. They were careful of walls and making sure no damage was caused to my belongings or my home. The guys (Christian, Daniel, & Colin) were also super friendly and respectful. They were hard working and kept everything moving as quickly and carefully as they could. They would make sure to ask me where to put things if I forgot to label them. Between Christian and Nelson, this company is a hit. Cannot recommend them more highly. We booked a 3-man team and a truck, and based on our moving location from Grad Hospital to Fishtown, with the apartment building/elevators, driving, and small street parking, we were quoted for a 3 hour move. I expected the time to be a little over that, but 3 hours was spot on. We picked this company for their professionalism and their reasonable prices, and were not disappointed. Since we were the second move in the day, the start time was delayed a bit from 3PM to 3:30PM. However, we got a call about 12:30PM to let us know their time schedule so that we could be prepared - they showed up right on time with the updated start time, got to work, and made a quick job of our move. Everyone carefully handled our belongings, but also worked efficiently to pack and unload the truck. During these weird times, we all wore masks for the move, and overall, felt as safe as we could be during the process. read more

I can't say enough about Nelson, Christian, and their amazing team! The day of my move was probably the hottest day in 2019, and the team moved my 3BR 2-story house to a 5BR 3-story house efficiently and expertly. They worked SO hard, sweated so much, and never complained. They are essentially conditioned athletes who can physically do things that I never would have managed. Nothing was damaged, and everyone, particularly Nelson, kept each other's spirits up. The day before the move, the crew came over to help with packing, and they were amazing: packed my whole kitchen and then looked for more things to pack -- everything was expertly wrapped and efficiently packed. Adding packing services to the move added to the expense, but was well worth it! I appreciated the expert advice given, and the disassembly/reassembly of beds and other pieces was almost magical. This is the third time we are moving with PhilaGorilla Movers. Scheduling with Christian was easy as always, and he was always responsive. On the moving day, the crew arrived early which we really appreciated. They handled all the parking and any related issues at the starting point and destination very well. The crew were friendly and helpful. The experience of the move itself was good, however after the move we noticed that several pieces of our furnitures were damaged. Some of the damages were inevitable, so I understand though I would have still appreciated a heads up. However, some of these damages were completely avoidable (e.g. furniture wrapped partially), and many of the damaged pieces were specifically requested to be wrapped and handled with extra care. The damages were a lot more significant than the previous two moves. I am quite sad as we take great care of our pieces. read more

Not being from Philadelphia, I counted on the internet to obtain information about potential movers. I ended up asking for about 5 separate quotes. My family and I hired movers for the first time so the task was daunting trying to find the right one. My boss recommended I check out Yelp and I called several moving companies on the list that had good reviews. I did schedule one company who was cheaper but then cancelled after I was able to talk to Chris from PhilaGorilla and found out the price and that there would be 3 movers as opposed to 2 would be comparable. I'm glad I did! My husband who was balking about paying for movers was glad he did as Matt, Colin & Josh were outstanding!!! They were beasts!! To watch them in action carrying 3 boxes on their backs was amazing they never gave up when running into difficulty moving heavy furniture up narrow stairs. I didn't originally sign up with PhilaGorilla Movers, but once we realized how bad the weather was going to be on the Saturday we were going to move, I called them to book us for the day before the nasty weather was going to get here, and so glad I did! Christian & Nelson were very professional, fast, and didn't damage anything in our move. They estimated it would take 7 hours, and came in at 6.5, so they know what they're doing. They wrapped and padded everything that needed it, and even wore booties when I asked them to because we had white carpets in our new house. At the end of the day, I would recommend these guys to any of my family and friends that are moving and my and I are so glad we found them. read more

I've never hired movers before, and was not sure what to expect, but now I'm going with PhilaGorilla every time. These movers were awesome - super quick, professional, friendly. They were very careful with some big items, including a fragile china cabinet, but the crew took every precaution with it. They also were diligent about asking where things should be unloaded in the new apartment. I handled the temporary no-parking permit application, but someone from the company did all the legwork to pick them up from the Streets Department and install them on my block ahead of the move. I had a great experience with PhilaGorilla Movers. It was so easy to book my moving date and Christian responded super quickly to all of my questions. The day of the move was seamless. PhilaGorilla Movers are an amazing company! This is the third time we've used them since 2015 (don't judge ;-p) and each time has been on time and under the quote. We used PhilaGorilla for a move within Philly this summer, and things could not have gone better for us. Our team of Ryan, Weston, Jaws, and David were professional, friendly, and hard-working. They even dealt with the hottest day of the year and having to haul a sofa up 5 flights that would not fit in an elevator as no worries we can do it! I never write reviews, but these guys were great. They came, wrapped up all my big items and took care to place things on blankets if needed, and this was only a move down the block. No nicks or anything, and I moved from a second floor to another second floor, no elevator and tight staircases. I have a large couch that I wasn't sure was going to physically get through the door of my new place, but they did it, and did not damage anything. They're magic. Super nice and very efficient. We finally performed a move that worked out well, sure you are still exhausted afterwards but they were great.
