I'm so thankful to Dr. Crease and his team for saving my mom from unnecessary treatment that was recommended by a former dentist. I took my 80 yr old mom in for a second opinion on a tooth with a fairly large cavity. The previous dentist's recommendation was to remove the tooth and place an implant. Dr. Crease took the time to evaluate the significance of her cavity and was able to address it with a filling instead. He was patient, informative, and knowledgeable. His assistant, Bonnie, was very kind and they worked in tandem seamlessly. Not only did Dr. Crease save my mom thousands of dollars but also the pain involved with an extraction, implant, and crown! My mom didn't feel a thing during the procedure and two days later, feels completely comfortable. The office is efficient, friendly, and high tech. I saw Dr.Creese for the exam after my cleaning. He found a cavity under a crown which he will take care of on 20 October. He is very thorough and I appreciate the care I received from him. The hygienist that did my cleaning is absolutely wonderful. She tells me everything that she's doing, and I appreciate her noticing there was a difference in my mouth since I've been using a water flosser. She is also very thorough and caring.She's a keeper. I have not only had excellent care myself for years, but when my adolescent son broke a tooth, Dr Gruell got him in the same day and the treatment given for my traumatized son made me love this office with all my heart. Dr Gruell did such an amazing repair on my son's (upper front incisor) tooth, that even I forget it was ever broken. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I missed a couple appointments because my brain was on another planet, the office staff was so exceptionally compassionate and tolerant. Dr Gruell's office is excellent. I am very much afraid of pain and he gives great numbing shots. One time, I had a dental issue during the holidays and left a voicemail. They couldn't reach me back, but still left a message giving me the time and date of the earliest appointment so I could be seen as soon as possible. As a young teenager, I started going to Dr. Gruell's office. I had been scared of dentists since childhood and was not particularly excited about my new adult doctor. But I am writing this about ten years later and have nothing but good things to say about the care I have received. I researched, and set up an appointment for my partner and I. The receptionist scheduled us early morning, with a different dentist, not Dr. Gruell whom I requested and was told we would see. They bait and switched us, obviously only into the money! With this type of deception, we are out! What else are they capable of? read more

I went to dr gruell twice several years ago. I've never had a cavity in my life & he told me I had 8 that needed to be filled: 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. I was fresh out of college at the time and didn't have much money but spent my entire paycheck fixing just my top teeth because I couldn't afford all of them. Fast forward 7 years and many dentists later, I've never had anyone even remotely mention the possibility of cavities on the 4 teeth I never got filled. How could that be if they were real? This guy is a scammer, don't trust him to be honest about what is necessary. Get a second opinion, I wish I had. My husband and I were just chatting about this experience and I felt inclined to leave a review considering it looks like he is still practicing. read more

We all take Yelp reviews with a grain of salt as we should (I see some of my favorite restaurants and shops get skewered by people with unnecessary concerns). It saddens me to ever post something negative, but a couple of years of frustration and my credit score having been damaged, I feel the need to say something... A couple of years ago I was referred to Dr. Gruel by a friend. I hadn't been to the dentist in like 5 years (yikes, I know, stupid early 20 something mistake when your mom stops booking these types of appts). The hygienist (Jenny, who was lovely and the only positive about my experience there) told me I needed a deep cleaning. I knew that meant it wouldn't be covered 100% like the normal cleanings are, which I understand. I was quoted $85 by the receptionist and figured my insurance took care of the rest. I thought it was odd that Jenny made a comment about it being expensive ($85 for a procedure seemed like a great deal) but shrugged it off and went on my way. I never received a bill and forgot about it. A YEAR LATER I received a call that I owed a past due amount of $1400. WTF?!? They said they had sent me multiple invoices (I never received a single one). I told them I wouldn't be paying that. Quoting me one price and then calling a year later demanding exponentially more?? You've got to be kidding! The person who called admitted that they hadn't done a good job with billing and are just now catching up, like that's somehow my problem. Well apparently it was my problem because after several harassing calls giving me options to pay a little less each time, I finally stopped answering and they took me to collections. It's been a pain point every time I look at my credit score (which I did recently, prompting me to finally get the courage to write this). I refuse to pay because I don't think what they did was right and I've tried fighting it with the collection agency to no avail. I'm sure Dr. Gruel is a fine dentist, but I don't think what happened to me was fair and I'm still frustrated about it. And I have the great pleasure of living two blocks from this place so have to see it daily and it frustrates me every time. read more

Best dental experience I've ever had! My anxiety was very high going into this appointment. I was expecting to have all four of my wisdom teeth taken out and instead found out I ONLY NEED TWO DONE! Dr. Gruell was AMAZING he walked me though the whole process and answered all my questions. His staff was amazing they broke down all my expenses as well as scheduled my cleaning a head of time which I love so I can be prepared. Dr. Gruell has been my dentist for over 25 years. I invested in Invisalign with him last year. He and his staff did an excellent job. I had Invisalign 10 years ago but the dentist didn't create enough space for my teeth to straighten. I wish Dr. Gruell offered Invisalign at that time. I would have saved thousands of dollars.
