On my transmission pan. Initially I asked for a flush, but when I mentioned I have 210k miles Steve started acting like I should throw it away, and the work wouldn't be worth it. I couldn't even convince him to drain and fill my fluid. I was recommended to this business by their neighbor John, and Steve put a clutch in for me on another vehicle. That car was a 2007 jeep compass manual that nobody else would touch. Clutch failed less than a year later and I placed no blame on the business who installed the part. These things happen. Will not be returning to him in the future.

I'm on a road trip from California with my family and while…read moredriving to Portland my husband drove over some piece of scaffolding on the freeway and something happened to the bottom of our Honda CRV... we took the first exit "feeling" something drag in the bottom of our car... we looked underneath it was some piece of metal and I was terrified something really bad happened and we'll have to now spend tons of $$ to have it fixed so we can continue our trip... I looked at Yelp and picked the closest car mechanic to where we were at, called the Troutdale transmissions and they told me to come in. They were just 1.5 mile away and the whole trip there we were driving 15 miles per hour with stuff hanging from bottom of our car... Once we got there the guys were sooooo helpful, encouraging, they looked at the car right away although I could tell they were really busy... long story short, they fixed the stuff, took probably around 30 min and let us go... This was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a repair shop. I was already…read morestressed about the cost of the repair, but the way I was treated throughout the process made it even worse. I brought my car in on 4/20 for a transmission repair after being told the job would take about one week. At the time, there were no warning lights on the dashboard and no known issues other than the transmission. I also paid more than half of the quoted cost upfront. After a week passed, I had to reach out myself for an update. It took about a week and a half to get a response, and I was told the repair would be delayed due to an illness. I completely understood and was willing to be patient because things happen. On 5/1, I contacted them again to see if my car was ready for pickup and received no response until 5/8. By this point, I had already been given four different completion dates, all of which came and went. I simply asked for an accurate timeline because I was becoming frustrated with the lack of communication. Instead of receiving an update, I got an email from the owner's wife that I found extremely rude and unprofessional. I was told they could no longer do the repair and was accused of rushing them, which was completely untrue considering how long I had already waited beyond the original timeline. As a result, I had to pay to have my vehicle towed to their shop and then pay again to have it towed elsewhere so another shop could complete the repair. Throughout this experience, I was hung up on, repeatedly misled about completion dates, and left without clear communication. To make matters worse, when I finally got my car back on 5/15, multiple warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard that had not been there before. When I called to ask about it, I was told they hadn't touched anything that could have caused it. However, I had photos taken before the vehicle was towed to their shop showing that there were no dashboard warning lights at that time. Overall, this experience was disappointing, stressful, and costly. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop
