If you have an extra hour and a half or two and like food that's decent at best then go for it! Waited for 20 minutes before so much as a drink order was taken. This and the fact that they weren't even taking appetizer orders should have been our first clue. Took an hour and a half to finally get food. Not even a "sorry this took so long". During this time we had to result to refilling our own drinks multiple times (you would think a waitress would only allow this to happen once at most). Overall incredibly unimpressed and really wouldn't recommend going here when Oxford has so many options that taste better and come with MUCH better service. read more

One of my favorite burger joints in town for over 15 years. Everything is cooked to order. Lots of sandwich options and add ons available. I like the cheeseburger and seasoned fries. They have awesome shaved ice for the drinks. There's plenty of space to sit outdoors and enjoy the weather. Reasonably priced and delicious. read more

I only give it a one star because I don't think I can give it a no star on this system. If I learn how I'd like to revise. it was Saturday night. They were not that busy. The wait was absolutely absurd - I mean like an hour. They said it was because the steaks were so thick. Lying there. And they were not very good. Either the server dropped half the catfish orders or they use catfish sardines. Oh, but they charge $16 a plate for those catfish sardines. They never refilled the drinks during that long wait. They did rearrange empty tables with a huge commotion right next to us and spray the tables with clorox. Great order to go with the greasy appetizers. By the way, they include a 20% tip in the bill so they protect themselves for their bad service. Stay away. read more

Truly the BEST burger I've ever had. So flavorful, so juicy. I prefer going here for lunch rather than dinner, as it is quicker. However, still great taste and service at both. Don't understand the other complaints! You do have to walk up to the counter to order at lunch, but it's not that big of a deal. Clean, friendly staff, and yummy food. I went here because of the pictures and review of their burgers on www.roadfood.com which is pretty reliable on good roadfood across the nation. I was not impressed. The deluxe cheeseburger was just OK. Served well done with no option for any other way was a disappointment. The fresh cut fries were good but not great as were the sweet potato fries. I'm betting that there is a much better burger somewhere in Oxford. read more

Best burgers in Oxford. South of the Square on S. Lamar, in an old shack, it's very easy to miss, if you're not looking for it. Menu is mostly burgers & fries type of thing... with very solid steaks, catfish, and chicken served in the evenings (no alcohol sold here, but you can brown bag). The burgers are big, juicy, greasy, and delicious. Grab some spicy fries to go with it, and you're set. read more

One of my favorite spots to eat in Oxford. You can get your traditional American hamburger cooked the way it should be. The fries are unique and delicious, as well as anything else they fry including the fried pickles. They also have an array of other sandwiches and desserts to choose from. My only complaint is that they aren't open every day of the week. read more

I am picky when it comes to hamburgers...this burger was (in my opinion) perfect. It was just the right size, crispy on the outside, tender, and juicy. They also have corn nuggets, which I have not been able to find ANYWHERE around here until now. I have not so far had a bad experience here, and I found the price to be about average for Oxford. I've passed this place many times and never stopped - it usually looked wrapped up. We stopped by for a late lunch on a post-game Sunday. It's a quirky little place in an old house. There are tables inside and outside. You place your order when you walk in, fix your drink, then grab a table. We ordered a mushroom swiss burger ($5.25), bacon cheeseburger, sweet potato fries and tea for about $16. About 10 minutes later, the waitress walked out with a tray and called out our number. My hamburger came with everything (less the mayo, bleah.) It had mushrooms, swiss, onion, lettuce, tomato, and mustard on a big juicy hamburger patty (ketchup was on the table.) It was hot and delicious - the kind of hamburger I remember from when we didn't know the percentage of fat in ground beef, ha! I'd guess 80/20 based on how wonderful and juicy it was. My husband's was equally good. Fries were very good, too, but the hamburgers blew them away. We ran into friends who shared a fried pickle, which is a big wedge of pickle with ranch. Very good if you're a pickle person. The service is counter service but was friendly. We were in and out in under a half hour and very satisfied. We'll be back for another version of their hamburger and maybe this time, the onion rings. Oh, and they have a a case with homemade cake and fried pies.... read more

My friend brought me here since I'm visiting from Texas. The food was amazing and just enough to fill me up without craving a nap afterwards. I'm actually taking my boyfriend back to eat there before we leave town so I can try the cheesecake that was staring at me on my way out.
