So happy that we found this little gem of a place! Great value for a really, really good sandwich. My husband eats there at least once a week. We recently moved to SC from AZ, and were hard pressed to find a really good and authentic Philly style sandwich shop until we found Philly Special. The owner is so friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are all at a good price point for what you get and the Amoroso rolls?!?!? OH MY! My ONLY wish is that he would start making an actual "Italian" hoagie with capicola. The hame hoagie is DELISH, but man... that capicola sure would round it out nicely. Hubby really enjoys the fries as well. I ordered the Screaming Eagle Philly Steak. it had a lot of flavor. never had a Philly steak with mayonnaise on it... a plus. The fries were awesome too. nice and crispy. I would definitely go back again. read more

Got a basic 12in philly. And it didn't disappoint. Also ordered the angry Philly and that was just as good if not better. If you're a peppers fan you need to get that. Also got the Carolina gold wings and honey hot. Best wings I've had in a long long time. Service was awesome and friendly. I'll definitely be back next time I'm up that way. read more

This little hole in the wall was an AMAZING find. Driving cross country with my dad & we just wanted some good local grub, tried about four places that were only carry out, not findable or just not even open.. stumbled in here & it was like the universe just made all that happen so we could have this sandwich. Super simple, incredibly authentic, every single nibble a delight. Amazing soft warm bread. Watched that grill cook throw on rare slices of beef, griddled to perfection, chopped with melty cheese & lovingly wrapped in that mmmmmm yummy warm bun. This was EXACTLY the Philly I've been craving for months. That sandwich was bomb!! And the staff.. great personality behind the counter (you better kick some butt in school kid, and never stop singing!).. that guy who was working the grill, mad skills! I went into this establishment tonight around 9-9:15.It was 3 guys and, a girl sitting at the table. Along with my roommate. My roommate wasn't sure if that was me getting out the car. And you can tell she was telling them something about me because the cook,the girl and the other two guys leaned over to look out the window at me.(I got the pic) I never ever felt bothered or insulted by a establishment when I walked in the store I started to turn around and leave however, I still went in to support. I ordered the angry bird after I paid for it the girl said to the cook. "That angry bird isn't a combo any longer." I don't know her purpose For stating that but the whole store staff was unprofessional. No enjoy ma'am,have a nice night my things was put in a bag and slid to me. So I will never come to this establishment again. Don't get me wrong the food Is good. But when you have a staff that treat a customer bad because of another customer issues with that customer.....That's sad and pathetic read more

My family was in the way home from vacation and we stopped here for some lunch. The young girl at the register has an attitude when I asked her if the jalapeños were pickles or fresh, she also rolled her eyes a couple of times while taking my family's order. I got a Turkey BLT with banana peppers and american cheese. I got 3 banana peppers on a 6 inch sub. I also ordered cheese, bacon, and ranch fries and never got them. My mom waited almost 30 minutes for her philly to be remade because it was made incorrectly. I've read other reviews and it seems like a good place to eat but we probably won't be back. read more

This place has only been open for a month and we found it on our road trip up I-26. We ordered a plain Philly cheesesteak with fries. The fries were very crispy and delicious! The cheesesteak was extremely tasty. The bread was impressively fresh. I will highly recommend this place and we will definitely return. The items are billed a la crate so keep that in mind when ordering sides. The are supposed to be adding a vegan sandwich soon. read more
