Ugh, okay this place was very underwhelming.. We are from out of town and stumbled upon this place while looking for a quick bite.. okay so let's start, the place was very empty and the atmosphere was blah and had outdoor seating which wasn't an issue.. we ordered Philly cheesesteak and were very bland and we ordered with with what was called spicy fries (basically they added some seasoning and called it spicy) granted we aren't in n philly so didn't expect to have this experience that was amazing but at least we were expecting some seasoning on the cheesesteaks or lettuce or tomatoes.. so the place is connected with a bar and I ordered a grapefruit beer which was good but I felt like the bartender wasn't helpful towards me finding the beer of my liking.. there was no liquor menus. They delivered the food to use with the napkins under the food which basically meant dirty napkins.. there was spider webs everywhere and fall webworms all over.. overall wasn't the best experience and if I wanted a Philly cheesesteak I wouldn't suggest this place. read more

Hubby and I always prefer to support local businesses when on our weekend road trips so after reading all the great reviews we decided to have lunch here. Philly Steaks is located in the heart of Stroudsburg, right on Main Street, so parking can be a pain but it's well worth your time to circle the block as long as you need to in order to score an open meter. These subs are pretty big so hubby and I decided to order the special (sub, fries and drink for $11) and share. We got the original cheesesteak with mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a cup of marinara on the side. One bite of this packed to the gills sub brought back fond memories of my childhood when my dad would take us to his favorite sub shop that has long since closed (they had a "special" sub with the exact same toppings). There was so much meat on the sub that I had to use a fork to scoop up all the steak left behind on my plate after I finished the sub. The meat was so flavorful that I didn't even need salt or pepper and the toppings were chopped up into the meat so I got some of that yummy goodness in every single bite. The fries that came with the special was a huge portion as well, and they were right out of the fryer - hot and crispy, none of those limp fries you get from under the heat lamp at your local fast food joint. We recently stopped in for our first time after a friend told us about this place. We are not from the area but was around the way at a Waterpark and looking for something good to eat. The fact that the cheesesteak held together after being overnight in the fridge and and taste just as good gives them 5 stars. A small place with a big bar area and several options for beer on tap, as well as other. We were driving back to Albany NY from North Carolina. I've been wanting a Philly Cheese steak since I was in VA last October. We found this place which was on our way back. We went to Philly Steaks for lunch all of us tried the cheesesteaks with cheese fries and my one daughter had a BLT. All the food was delicious and the portions are enormous. It is pretty pricey but one steak and order of cheese fries can easily feed two people. We took the leftovers back home heated them in the oven it was still great. I have eaten here a few times and recently we ordered for delivery. I must say that Philly Steaks has the best cheesesteaks in the area! Their fries are something special too. The cheesesteaks we ordered had Whiz and onions on them. The first thing to note is that they are very large with generous portions of meat. The Whiz soaks the meat perfectly so that every bite is deliciously creamy. Some places put less meat to make room for onions and the like but that's not the case here. The bread is soft but firm enough to stand up to the Whiz. Now the fries! While the portion per order is small (delivery only, in store it's much bigger) the fries are perfectly cooked. They are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. They came in a bag that looked really greasy but the fries weren't. They are salted but not overly so that they accompany the cheesesteaks perfectly. We also ordered wings. I can't say we were disappointed but they were not the best. They were decently sauced (mild buffalo) but they could definitely be crispier. It could be that the residual heat sort of steamed the wings in the delivery container (tin takeout pan with a plastic cover) but I haven't had them in the restaurant to compare. The delivery was VERY quick for us but I have seen how busy they can get on Main St so I am not sure if this could be expected every time. Nonetheless, we were impressed with the prompt delivery. The prices are great for what you get and there are always specials. We will continue to patronize this establishment, both in store and delivery. read more

Ok, this is the only place in the Pocono's to get a true Philly cheesteaks. They are as close as it comes to a true Philly steak with out visiting the Philly area. However, do yourself a favor try the buffalo wings and the pizza. My wife and I get the buffalo chicken pizza, and they actually grill the chicken breast then throw it on the pie.
