Supreme Philly with fries and a drink
    Daniel R.

A true Philly sub on the wonderful rolls they actually use in Philadelphia, this is a nice little place hidden away up north in Briarcliff -- directly across from Piropos. They have tons of different Phillies to choose from. I got the Supreme, which has mushrooms, onions and peppers. It was delicious. It's very nice and clean inside and the two ladies working there couldn't have been nicer. I was there during a slow time in mid-afternoon on a stormy day and we had a blast chatting while I ate. They have unusual hours, closing at 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays so check their times before you head out.

I'm starting to become a regular here. Food is good. Service is fast and friendly, even when there's a long line (this also speaks to how good it is). They have a great selection of philly sandwich options, wraps, and even grilled cheese or nuggets for the kids. The place is clean and well kept up.

This place is awesome!!!!!! Want a Philly cheese steak, how about one done like 10 different ways????? Philly Time is the spot to be for awesome food, great lunch specials and located within a 15 minute drive of most locations. This place has that small sandwich shop feel that would be located in the heart of the city. The menu selection is outstanding, which includes several different deli meat sandwiches, more philly cheese steak options then I've ever seen and a huge selection of chips. Monday through Friday, the lunch special is 4.99 for a full sized specialty sandwich that is day specific. Man this place is awesome, I'm so excited to have stumbled upon this gem so be sure to drop on by and give em a try! Pro tip: the spicy voodoo chips can't be found anywhere else in KC!

Naked Philly Cheesesteak (Chicken) & Fries

Found this place randomly searching for places on my lunch break. It is in a convenient location, didn't take much time to get there. I walked in, went to the register told them I ordered online. I'll even give an extra star (3-4) just because they carry bags of Zapp's chips (mm-mm good!). !! it didn't come on a paper plate !! My chicken Philly was actually wrapped in foil, and my fries were in a food boat that was wrapped in a bag. I just reheated so. BOOM! The plate ! Anywho! Nice place! I would go back. Wasnt the best Philly, but wasn't the worst either.

    South Street Cheesesteak

A-OK! I tried this place out with my coworker for lunch. It was small and only a couple of tables were vacant. The cheesesteaks were all priced at $6.99 for regular and $9.49 for double meat. I ordered the Original Cheesesteak while my coworker ordered the South Street Cheesesteak. We both made it a combo (came with a drink and a side) but I ordered fries while he ordered onion rings. I think the price of the combo changes depending on what side you ordered because my combo was $3.28 while his was a little bit more than that. I ended up paying $11.30 total. The Original Cheesesteak tasted good to me but nothing special. My coworker told me that this place used the right kind of Cheese Whiz in his South Street Cheesesteak. That's good to know and he said the size was the same as the ones in Philly. The fries were alright with ketchup but I wasn't feelin' the steak sauce. I even dipped my cheesesteak in the steak sauce but I didn't think it complemented well. Overall, I thought this place was okay and be prepared to pay over $10 for your food unless you don't combo it or order anything else.

    My Keto Deluxe! So delicious!
    Jennifer R.

I feel bad I haven't reviewed Philly Time before but I really love this place. Recently, I've gone Keto so the last time I ordered, I just asked them to leave out the bread. You can also get a bed of lettuce if you'd like. I honestly expected to get a skimpy portion without the bread but it was pretty generous & oh so delicious! They have a LOT of different options for Philly sandwiches (I recommend the cream cheese and the one with white American cheese and the blackened one, ok they're all great)! They also have great daily specials & yummy onion ring bites!

Our server was great-she was the only one and kept up with refills etc! Pizza was amazing! My kiddo said he wants to get pizza from here everyday! Wishful thinking kid! My other kiddo enjoyed her burger. And hubby ate all of his wings-self explanatory. Will we be back? Definitely! Should I have ordered a pizza to go? Yes! Did I? No, am wish I had! Gratuity is already added-not sure if this a permanent thing or World Cup thing...but we tipped extra for the great service.

Without question, this is the best pizza joint/spot in the Crossroads. Whether you are just getting…read morea slice or a full pie, you have a zillion options and all of them are good choices. But they don't just do pizza, there is an array of sandwiches, burgers, and of course their famous wings (beware of the Death Wings, like, REALLY beware). The kitchen is pretty much right in front of you and pies are getting slung constantly. That Rockin' Red sauce has that rich tomato base and it goes perfectly with that toasted crust flavor that only a pizza oven can provide. Toppings are seemingly anything (I'm a sucker for fresh mozz & meatballs) and while one slice is enough for many, two is just a sweeter spot. Beer on tap flows with local, regional, & known brands. The drink menu is pretty lengthy and beers will rotate with the seasons. If you're unsure on what you want, then your friendly server is very likely going to give you some good options. The whole place seems to be held together by stickers & customer 'art', so it gives Grinders a divey atmosphere but delivers a five-star product. Parking is Crossroads, pricing is reasonable but the value is far more than the price point(s), and there's a reason this place gets national exposure. It's that good. And if weather allows, then eat out back. Underrated KC patio.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

It was good but there was a lot of olive oil on it. I really liked the grilled pita it came with. I also tried the chicken schwarma sandwich. It comes with fries but I asked to swap them for the lentil soup. I ended up with both fries and soup due to a mishap. The lentil soup was ok. It was a little different than what I'm used to. It wasn't bad but it wasn't my favorite. I did like the fries so I'm glad they were there. My favorite was the chicken schwarma sandwich. The chicken was super tender and had a slightly cinnamon flavor. It paired great with the garlic sauce. And the pickles were really good. I'm definitely going to return to get that again. I had a bite of the gyro meat and that was really good too. I want to try that one too!

What really stood out right away was the service. The lady taking our orders was incredibly nice and personable, and she actually took the time to walk us through the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I went with the #5, which is their version of a Sicilian Muffuletta. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. You just can't leave a place like this without hitting the dessert menu! I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this spot.
