I went ahead and tried their pork sandwich, with some onions. The sandwich was good, but I felt like it was missing something. This place is going down the tubes. The guys behind the counter have major attitudes. I was sitting eating my UNDERCOOKED sandwich today when I heard the cook say something to a customer completely disrespecting him, not even the cashier, THE COOK (who was coughing THE WHOLE TIME I was there), then the guy just walked out cursing. I was shocked, and, quite frankly, I felt bad for the owner who was ultimately losing business. None of the employees tried making it right with the customer, or even APOLOGIZED. The employees need to learn how to be more professional, as well as learn how to cook a damn sandwich. I sincerely hope I don't get sick. Philly's Best USED to be okay, but I think I'll stick with Jersey Mikes from now on. read more

Only worth it on the 5 for 5$ days 5th 15th and 25th...they serve small/medium size sandwiches..mediocre at best..I get the classic steak philly and its ok for 5$. Not a friendly staff..reminds u of philly people who have a stick up their butt. So that might be the idea. I've been here twice and each time customer service wasn't the best. It wasn't a make or break it yet though. But I just went today and they weren't wearing gloves with handling their food, bread, and even used bare hands to grab fries!!! I asked them to put on gloves and they did for our food . But I saw another complaint on yelp about them not being sanitary and not changing their gloves. I'm really big about using gloves especially with uncooked food such as bread and the transferring of fries. Customer service doesn't make it much better to be honest. read more

This place has a cool Philly vibe to it and the decor is appealing. The customer service, from my experience, was decently average. The prices are roughly a dollar or two over priced. The cleanliness is not so great either, tables were not wiped, floors not mopped and order counter was also dirty. I have to say that the title of the restaurant though is quite undeserving. I've had better sandwiches at pizza joints and have made better sandwiches at home. The "steak", though I know is Philly style, resembles the kind of cheap processed steak that subway puts on its sandwiches. The owner should do a lot better to live up to the restaurant's name, heck I can give him or her advice :) if you want a finger food like place to watch a sports game them this place is ok. read more

$5 on 5 is a good deal, but once you add a drink and fries it's a normal priced meal. Check out their killer catering prices though!!!!

DO NOT ORDER THE SALADS‼‼‼. We paid $8.00 for "a few" pieces of sliced tomatoes & iceberg lettuce, with a tiny bit of chicken (our protein choice). We could have bought enough to make a weeks worth of all these ingredients and had enough salad for lunch for a full week. The only reason we're giving it 2 stars is because the two sandwiches we ordered were good. Not great, but just "good". Be prepared to pay a lot, prices are a bit high. Came here for the first time a few nights ago and I was already craving it again by tonight. The food was great... I asked the cook (who was kinda hot) about the whole american/provolone/cheez whiz debate and he said that people from back east swear by the cheez whiz but he's an american fan so he gave me a side of the whiz. I wasn't a fan either but I can see the appeal. It was thicker and creamier which some people might like. Service has totally improved! I think my last review disappeared, so here we go again! - I love Philly's Best! The sandwich of choice for me is the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak. Yum Yum. Just the right amount of spicy. DH prefers the traditional cheesesteak (again, he is boring). This is our FAVORITE place for lunch on a Sunday when they have the meal for two deal - $10 gets you two 6" sandwiches, 2 fries, and 2 drinks. Yay! And they have a stamp card to ear free sandwiches! Ok, so the people who work there now know our order and our names - when we walk in they wave and get it started. That is how local we are. Lol. But go, get a a cheesesteak. You will be happy. Cruised in on a Friday night. The place was semi crowded but the shopping center where the actual shop was located was jammed packed!!! Parking can be hard to find on a weekend. The shop is simple and the staff friendly and fast. I ordered the basic cheese steak with grilled onions and a side of fries....the food was good!!! The original cheese Steak is awesome. I get grilled onions and add peppers, the bread is always soft and the meat thinly sliced. I've been to Philadelphia but this is still a better sandwich. The best thing however is the fact they support the military by giving a military discount. read more

We have been coming here for a couple years now. My husband and I always get the pepper steak sandwich and kids usually get Turkey sandwich or checked and pepper sandwich. All are very good and service is always good. So although I think the sandwiches are priced a little high, it's not this location it's the company and chain that price the food so I had to give a 5 star! The food is good and the service is quick. Last night, I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with extra meat, a cheesesteak fry, and two ham and cheese sandwiches. The cheesesteak fries were good! However, last night the bag for my cheesesteak sandwich and cheesesteak fries broke! It spilled all over my car . I'd recommend asking for a second bag if you get extra meat or asking for the cheesesteak fries to be put in it's own bag so you don't end up with the same mess as me. read more

The food is good, if you eat Beef and Pork, otherwise forget it. They offer salids, but they substitute iceberg lettuce for any other lettuce in their photos of their salids. When I brought this to their attention, they said "We don't specialize in salids." I was most disappointed in their LACK of handicapped seating. With two wheelchair patrons eating, people were forced to bump into them to get to their tables that were packed so tightly together any wheelchair, or plus sized patron, would pose a problem. I also was unclear how they could maintain their "A" food service rating when NONE of the 5 people preparing the food had hair nets or wore gloves WHEN PREPARING food for the customers! I actually watched one server wipe her nose, tuck her hair into her baseball type hat, THEN without washing her hands arrange some French fries in a paper basket before setting it on the counter for the customer! When I mentioned this to the man (No one wore a name badge) who seemed to be in charge directing the other employees, he ignored me, and handed me my sandwich which I elected to have wrapped to go. Maybe he didn't hear me with the three TV's blaring, on three different sports channels, in the three corners of the seating area! They have a "help wanted" sign posted on their door. Maybe they will hire someone who cares to address customers concerns, or has some common sense, but I wouldn't bet on it. They are probably looking for more of the same type if people that ignore the obvious basics in any food service position. read more
