Yeah so like Roselle, I took advantage of the coupon for a free sandwich (with a purchase of a crapload of other stuff of course). We went simple this time, a regular philly cheese with provolone. No onions or peppers--although in hindsight, if they were on there, I'd probably enjoy it just the same. I did my research off of their website, I kinda like to do this before I venture into any new place cause I have a tendency to linger on the menu. The menu was nothing out of the ordinary, although they did have some eastcoast branded items, made the place a bit more authentic. And I was even more impressed that they had cheese whiz as an alternate to provolone yumm. lol. So anyway, just got the regular cheesesteak with provolone, with fries and onion rings. We had to bring the sandwiches home, so I was scared they'd soak and sog on the 5 minute drive. Ugh. soggy bread is the worst. The sandwich was an impressive size, and to my pleasant surprise wasn't too drenched. There was a fair amount of meat (can't compete with the hat though), and three slices of ooozy gooey cheese...The fries weren't great, in fact I could've done without them, but I did enjoy the onion rings. It's taking me longer to write this review because I'm distracted by Bobby Flay's Throwdown. LOL. Now I want an arepa. Yeah..soo..overall, decent place. I doubt it'll be on my frequent-eats list but I'm sure I'll visit again when I get one of those greasy sandwich cravings--that is if I don't make it to the Hat first. read more

Went in today because it was the 25th so all sandwiches were $5. I figured I'd try it today that way if I didn't like it, at least I didn't pay full price :P I called in my order and was told 10 minutes. Perfect! It took me exactly 10 minutes to get there. I paid and was handed my sandwich right away. (Looked like they had just wrapped it too) Got some peppers and out the door I went... I ordered a cheesesteak with grilled onions and cheez wiz. It took me 10 minutes to drive home and my sandwich was so soggy :( I ate some of it anyway and the taste was so disappointing! The bread was okay beside the fact that it was soggy..I'm sure if I had dined in I would have had a better experience with the bread but the meat needs flavor and there was barely any onions on my sandwich. The cheez wiz made the contents pretty goopy too... Maybe I'm just not cut out for cheesesteaks lol I'll try Charley's next! Philly's Best - Menu 2021 - Sandwiches Near Me - Chino, California

Philly's Best opened in the Chino Spectrum about six weeks ago. I wanted to wait a while before trying it out, in case there were any bugs in their operations, it would give them time to work them out. I have passed by there a few times and have always seen a lot of foot traffic going in and out of the restaurant, always a good sign. I had high expectations of Philly's Best from the amount of foot traffic and things that I have read about other Philly's Best restaurants on Chowhound. Sadly, I was disappointed in Philly's Best. The Mushroom Steak is meat and mushrooms on the infamous Amaroso roll. A few thin slices of pre-proportioned meat is grilled to order, while a pile of onions are on the grill, slowly grilling away. The portion of steak per sandwich is pretty dismal and is just swimming in the large roll, and reminded me of the Steak Escape that you can find at most mall foodcourts. The Philly's Best contains steak, mushrooms, sweet peppers, grilled onions and provolone cheese. This sandwich contains more ingredients so the bread isn't the main player. All of the components meld together more cohesively. I would probably give Philly's Best another try down the road, but based on this visit I wouldn't highly recommend it. read more

Should of checked Yelp before coming here. Read a review from 3 months ago that was my exact experience. The cook greeted me as I walked in, the woman who was at the register was not friendly at all and did not greet me. She asked what I will take, I said a Classic Cheese Steak, i asked if it came with lettuce and tomato and she did not answer only changed my order to included lettuce and tomato. I was going to also order fries and a drink but because of her attitude and how it caught me off guard I did not. Did not say thank you to me or anything once done with the purchase. Phillys best is always a favorite spot of ours. Today we ordered through DoorDash & was given the wrong order, our driver either picked up the wrong order or was given the wrong order. So we called & decided to re order as door dash gave us a full credit back. I called the restaurant to let them know we would be re ordering, the woman working (Heather I think) apologized many times and said they would be re making our food. Our order finally arrived and we could tell the food was fresh, and definitely right this time. So thanks phillys best for always being kind, making things right, and having such yummy food. Got the neighborhood coupon in the mail, got hungry, got in my car and went here. It's been around for a while now but it never really caught my attention. I ordered the family-pak, which had 4 philly cheesesteak sandwhiches, and 2 orders of fries for $19.99 (w/ the coupon). Not bad at all, considering the size of the sandwiches and the huge portions of the fries. The sandwiches were alright. Maybe I shouldn't have done take-out because by the time I got back home 10 minutes later, the bread was already soggy. The meat was pretty tasty, no complaints there. Service was fast and friendly. I GIVE UP, Ive put it out of my mind that Im ever gonna find that perfect steak in Cali, I have to give Philly's Best there props though, I think this is probably the closet your gonna get to a authentic Philly steak. The problem with most cali phillysteak joints are the grill and preparation method, I think a cheesesteak grill is as important as a wok in Asain cooking, there's a season to the pan from all the years of oily fatty carmelized goodness being cooked on it. Most grills I see in the joints out here look too damn NEW, no black griddle tops? Also the way they cook the onion and steak is all wrong, the onions usually sit on the grill all day long in a huge pile being continuously shuffled so there's a huge flavor developing in that, then the meat is tossed with that.The juices from the steak onions & WHITE American cheese makes its own glorious sauce! Ahhhhhh!!! So I ordered a mushroom steak with onions, wiz, white American cheese salt pepper & ketchup. Only thing that was lacking was the season of the meat wasn't really there, but with the adding of some salt & some hot peppers it was spot on. Onion rings were aight also. There are a few camps out there when it comes to cheesesteaks. One is Whiz, one is american, and then there are people who insist on provolone. Prov is dumb, so I won't order it and I won't rate it. American cheesesteak is forgettable. It gets the job done, but aside from the Amoroso's bread, you may as well just make a steakums at home. The way to go is the whiz wit. Cheesewhiz and fried onions. I don't want to say it's on par with what you'd get at home, but it's definitely close. Another thing to consider is in Philly, you'll get a pretty big cheesesteak for somewhere around six but. You'll pay considerably more here for less. read more
