My brothers and I ordered at Phillys best to be delivered at our house and to find that one of our cheesesteaks to be missing. We called to get the problem resolved it wasn't really much help. I've been coming here for years and as of today I'll NEVER come back ever ever again. EVER! After walking in and NOT being greeted whatsoever, with my mother (who is a senior citizen) I decided to treat her to dinner. She asked about if they honored senior discounts and the manager I think (older white dude) very rudely said they only honor them for seniors. Perfect right since my mom is a senior. Husband called and ordered 4 sandwiches today. Went to pick up and came home with two of them wrong. I wish they would go over the order when they call your name, but they just hand over the bag. My husband called and they actually wrote down the order wrong. I heard my husband order over the phone, so I know he said it correct. What a waste of two sandwiches that went into trash. I love Philly's. The one by my house is great! This Philly's is a few minutes from my work. Its been great till today. I had the Chicken Philly (which was Free w/ my stamp card) and cheese fries. Apparently the owner missed Sesame Street when Bert and Ernie were going over the letter 'D' for 'Drug Test.' I came here for lunch, and the cashier was so lit she was having communication issues. The cooks seemed more interested in socializing amongst themselves than making sure people were getting their orders after only announcing order names once and not sticking around to see if anyone noticed. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special. I'll probably give this place one more shot since I didn't even order a cheesesteak on this visit. The past couple times I've come here I've been disappointed because the phillys have been lacking a lot of flavor so today I told myself if I don't like it again for sure I will not be coming back.  And what do you know the flavor still lacked.  Not only will I NOT be coming back due to the lack of flavor but the experience I had there today was terrible. I walked in at 8:10PM and I wasn't quite sure if they were open even though I checked my phone and it said they were open till 9PM.  The reason why I felt this way was because when I walked in all the chairs were already put up on the tables and the girl had her music blasting and was mopping already.  There were only two tall round tables closest to the door that didn't have chairs on them yet.  She apologized about having her music blasting and walked around the counter to take my order.  I ordered the philly cheesesteak hoagie combo. But I added mushrooms to it and she said it would be an extra charge which I was completely fine with and I also asked for extra lettuce and she told me that was also an extra charge.  I always get this sandwich and it comes with lettuce and each time I've asked for extra lettuce I haven't been charged extra but I was fine with that because I figured it's probably something new they started.  I decided to eat there and when my name was called to get my food I realized my sandwich barely had any lettuce on it.  So I politely told the older women with a grey haired ponytail that made my sandwich that the girl charged me extra for lettuce and if I could get more lettuce on my sandwich. As the women walks over to the refrigerator she has the audacity to tell the girl "I didn't put enough lettuce on the sandwich for her".  So as she comes back with the lettuce, she tells me I put double the amount of lettuce we normally put and I just looked at her and said ok and walked away with my sandwich that finally had extra lettuce. As I was eating my sandwich a guy opens the door and says are you still open and the girl says yes you can still order and he walks back out real quick. He walked back in but this time with a women and a little girl and they realized there is literally nowhere to sit except for the one little tall round table next to me so they walked right back out and didn't even order.  I felt really bad for them.  I always leave a tip too even if my food wasn't that great because I felt like they still made my sandwich but today I did not leave a tip due to the experience I had.  I am deeply saddened to say I WILL NOT be coming back. read more

Yesterday, I was craving a Philly Cheese Steak and I was on my way to see my parents when I realized that Philly's Best was in San Dimas. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect and I was really surprised. I absolutely loved the decor and I loved that they actually had desserts, spices, and condiments straight from Philadelphia. I was craving a juicy, Provolone, pepper, and lots of onion so I ordered the house special: Philly's Best. I devoured my entire sandwich and fries and I was very happy. However, the peppers were actually a little sweet and sour so that threw me off and will probably hold since they didn't taste all that good. However, I got a lunch that ended up being dinner so you definitely get your monies worth. Will be back for the Hoagies! read more

I've been living in Philly for 5 years and when I moved to California, I couldn't find a chain of philly cheese steaks' restaurants that matches the same taste as in Philadelphia until I found Philly's Best. Not nearly the same, but pretty close enough in my books. They used Amoroso bread and even have cheese wiz. Best order: Cheesesteaks with Provolone and Onions combo with Cheese Fries (Wiz) and add some of that cajun salt on your fries. Bomb! The one in Chino and this one are pretty decent. It's a 50/50 chance of getting good food here. Depends on who's working. Fries are often twice cooked, and the amount of meat they put on the Philly cheese steak is lacking. Halfway through your sandwich there is no meat inbetween the bread ends of your sandwich. Lacks meat, twice cooked fries, but packs flavor. Guess that's why we keep coming back. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's soso. If the owner is there, and his 'daughter', you should beware, give you twice cooked fries -THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL! The last time ive had phillys best was probably 5 years ago! Im glad i was in the san dimas area and found this spot. I was beginning to think that all phillys locations closed down. So i came here on a weekday for dinner and was shocked to see that not one customer was in there. I was beginning to think that maybe their sandwiches have decreased in quality over time but of course i was wrong. I ordered the philly cheese steak and i must say it brought back great memories of when i used to get this weekly. the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The cheese melted on there perfectly. It felt like i had a perfect bite every time. The guy taking my order and the cook were both very nice and friendly. I've eaten here three times and every time I do, I ask myself, "why don't I eat here more often??" I ate here yesterday and it was fantastic again!! In addition to which, it was the 5th and on the 5's (the 5th, 15th and 25th) you can get several different sandwich for $5, including the Cheese Steak, which is what I had, and it was delish!! This is as good as it gets, Folks. I went to Philly and Had Pat's.. I also had Geno's.. And Phillys best is the closest Cheesesteak Ive tasted to the real thing. (Its actually closer to Pat's, because f the way the meat is sliced).. Just to make this clear, they make great cheese-steaks! But when I walked in a couple of weeks ago wearing a face-mask--out of respect for ALL food prep folks who keep us fed and happy--I wondered why they were looking at me so intensely and strangely as I walked into the restaurant from outside? (I tried not to believe it was because I'm a Black man) They paused their uncomfortable gazing at me enough to turn their heads back up to the television screen ... to a steady diet of Fox News. To be clear, they were never rude to me, but as I walked out the door, I heard the chef say to the cashier, "You mean like that?" Nobody else was in the restaurant. YOU put 2 + 2 (+2?) together on that one. I felt stupid for still eating that delicious cheese-steak, but also vowed never to go back there again. Neither should you if you have a shred of common sense (which I lapsed on). Other reviewers here have noted the same thing: they don't take COVID-19 seriously. Servings were extremely small and everything was displaced in the bag. Ordered onion rings and got a total of 4 onion rings. The very first time I ate food from here, I was in love. Can't say that I've had a Philly Cheesesteak this good, aside from a Philly Cheesesteak in actual Philly. The food is delicious. After trying it when my brother brought it home, I've gone a couple of times myself. I can't say the service is amazing. The one time I went, it was around 7pm and it was closed. I was truly disappointed because I was craving the cheesesteak so badly. I guess I should have read what time they closed...that was definitely my mistake but I mean, what place closes at 7?? By far the best Cheesesteak you'll ever have outside Philadelphia. The bread, the meat, the cheese, the onions...it's awesome. I went to Philadelphia about 6 years ago and fell in love with the Cheesesteak's you can buy on the street or markets around town. And when I say, "fell in love." I mean eating them at lest three times a day for a week straight. I would run down from my hotel room at 10 o'clock at night and get one as a late night snack. When I discovered Philly's Best back home in SoCal I was so stoked. It really is the best Cheesesteak around. You want to know how I know? NO PEPPERS! Authentic Cheesesteak's don't use bell peppers, only onions. All the lame attempts by other other restaurants to put bell peppers on is only a sign that they have no clue what a authentic Philly Cheesesteak is. Of course it's a common topping you can have added, but it's not suppose to come with it without asking for them. What's even better about Philly's Best is they have great onion rings too. I consider myself to be an onion connoisseur and very picky when it comes to onion rings and French Onion Soup. It's an added bonus that these guys have good onion rings as well.
