Go somewhere else!! Went on Sunday November 14, 2021, around 5:30pm. Wanted to try them out for the first time since I am always picking up little Ceasars for the kids next door. I paced my order with a new employee. The older lady was trying to help him take the order. I put in my card and followed the instructions. Once it told me to remove the card, i removed the card. The new employee wasn't sure what happened and asked me to do it again. That's when the older lady came over in a huff and told me not to remove my card until instructed to. Ok I did again and on the screen it said remove card. When I removed my card the lady yelled at me: I told her it what it said and she told me I was wrong. I yelled back and told her she was wrong for yelling at the customer. I told her to keep her food. I don't want it and walked out. The have a help wanted sign hopefully they will hire people who are polite and now how to talk to the customer. Awesome. We've been eating here almost every work night since the shut down. The classic cheesesteak w/grilled onions is amazing as is the chicken cheesesteak (as long as the person cooking chops up the meat.) I had one chunky sandwich that wasn't good. Ordered 2 Philly cheese steaks to go. Driving down freeway traffic, started munching on 1, it was full of mayo and no cheese, hardly any meat, I'm serious, it was pretty much empty. Called them up, they said to come back in, when I arrived the subs they were making for dine in were packed with meat and cheese, right there I knew they skimped on my portion and straight asked for a refund. 1 star for making drive back in traffic for a do over, only to find out they seriously messed up my order. Yea, yea, I realize that this place probably isn't considered to be as good as the "real thing" in Philly, but we are in CA, so what can you do? I ordered the Philly's Best sandwich, which included sweet peppers and mushrooms. I thought it was very good, but I guess after seeing people rave about the true Philly cheese steaks from Philly, it didn't match up with what I imagined it to be. This review is specifically for Janna, you were a terrible cashier and lied to me about writing my order down correctly. If you guys want your order made correctly make sure you're repeating yourself and/or checking your order before you leave because I have attempted to order a Buffalo chicken sandwich from this place with a few additional items and it is never made correctly. I love Philly's Best, but I assure you that you won't always get the best from this place! I paid $50-$60 for my family's meal and it's never done correctly. You'd think after so many years they'd have their ducks in a row and some nicer cashiers, but I guess if they're not having a good day you won't get what you paid for or ordered. I won't ever be going back to this location to eat because if I'm going to spend my hard earned money I want what I pay for no exceptions and I don't want to hear "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do about it." I paid for it, so there's a lot you can do to fix the issue. Next time try getting the orders correct the first time so you don't lose customers and wind up with bad reviews. One of my favorite cheesesteak places. I always order the chicken cheesesteak with onion rings. They have a good roll (soft and top has some substance) and their onion rings are tempera battered. Smells like dirty mop water when you walk in. No one making food was wearing gloves. Not once while I was there did the 2 cooks wash their hands. The cashier was VERY friendly, and he washed his hands and helped the fry station when there were no customers to take orders. The meat was open in a cardboard box next to the grill(not chilled over ice as it should have been). The person that was making fries and preparing the salad for the sandwiches started touching the raw meat and then turned around to cut and wrap a sandwich.(not once put on gloves or washed their hands) The person on the grill used their hand to grab the raw meat and used the same 2 spatulas to cut and toss the raw meat and the cooked meats. (Not once put on gloves or washed their hands) THANKFULLY I was watching the cooks but the person on the grill dropped raw meat on top of fully cook meat, the cook took the raw meat off the fully cooked meat put a bun on the cooked meat and tried to serve it to me. I told them that I watched what happened and I need a new sandwich. The entire time I knew I shouldn't eat there and after I ordered I contemplated asking for a refund but I was starving and so I took the new sandwich they made me. That evening I was sick, all through the night I was sick, and in the morning still sick. I LOVE Phillys Best but I will never return to this location. There's no Cheesesteak Shop down in Southern California. It's one of the things I miss most about living in the Bay Area since they were the closest to authentic as I could find. On any other day it's $8.99 for the sandwich we got. There's plenty of seating inside, and the staff is super friendly as well. Be sure to get the peppers they offer near the drinks. It's Not Gross!!! I can't really say anything good or bad about the food at San Dimas location. I had not visited one of these locations in years manly because they are kind of blah and slightly over priced for the quality. I tried it again 4 days ago on the recommendation of a friend. No change to what I remember. My wife and I ordered "Philly's Best Cheesesteak", "The Turkey Club", an order of onion rings and a fountain drink. The onion rings were good but about 8 onion rings for $5 is not so good. The worst part of this location was the fountain drink. They need to change or add water filters the water supply that feeds the fountain because ALL of the drinks tasted like bad tap water was being mixed into the beverage syrups. It makes all the difference. If you have had a beverage at McDonalds (you know you have) they always taste the same without the addition of flavors from the tap water and that's because of the extra filtration they use at all their locations. I have been a customer of this business for years but from ordering online to pick up in store the last two times they overcharge for items that either do not get put in the order or the sandwich is bad quality. Two times this has happened were they have overcharged me for one sandwich that was $14 to becoming $17-$18 without letting me know, which in my opinion is crazy price for a sandwich that is supposed to be fast food.
