Philly's has the Best sub in town! Has the best ingredients and bread. Fresher than Subway and better bread than Jimmy Johns.

The menu reads like they're reaching a bit higher than a typical sandwich shop, yet the prices were totally reasonable. $40 before tip for a wrap with sweet potato fries, a panini with chips, a kids PBJ with snack pack fruit cup, a chocolate milk, an 8oz cup of soup, and a side of potato salad. It's a place I'll happily hit up again out that a ways The hot Peppercorn Steak Wrap was excellent. Would be hard pressed not to order it again instead of trying something different. The Sweet Potato Fries though managed to be burned AND soggy and limp "Herb-garlic tortilla, shredded steak, tomato, red onion, cilantro, spinach, provolone, parm-peppercorn dressing" Sonoma Chicken Panini "Grilled chicken breast, provolone, basil, mushroom, red onion, sun-dried tomato pesto, balsamic glaze" Their Loaded Potato Salad is intense. Five or six bites will do you. "Diced roasted red potatoes mixed with bacon bits, cheddar cheese, chives, sour cream" Chicken & Wild Rice Soup was the opposite. Rich and creamy, but a bit babyfood-ish: not much texture to the veg and scant chicken, and lacking in wild rice

The man who delivered it was so kind and helpful - everyone we dealt with was so nice to us and patient with answering all of our questions. The price was also very affordable. I would recommend their catering to anyone.

We sat and waited for more than 40 minutes after our so called reservation. We were never asked if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs, but he was going to put us at a high top with two babies. That makes no sense at all! My neighbors were even there and asked for a downstairs table as they were elderly and couldn't get up the high stairs. They had to wait for almost an hour to get it. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to try the food, because the wait took so long. When I mentioned this to the manager, he literally yelled at us on our way out in front of everyone. What a wonderful memory of this place. He was a JERK. The place is adorable, but I would highly suggest to make sure you ask your customers if they want to sit upstairs or downstairs and their preferences before you decide to book a large group. Along with that, if you have people waiting for so long, at least offer them a water or something while they wait. I also heard from my Neighbors that their French toast was hard., the wait was long, and everything was overpriced for what you got. I would not suggest going here if you're looking to spend a half a day just waiting for just ok food.

The charcuterie board was an excellent choice for a light meal while the kids eat their dinner early. The lemon dessert was light and delicate with a good balance of sweet and tart from the berries. Good beer from the Saw Mill as usual. Love dim lighting which creates a causal and relaxing ambiance.

We got the shrimp skewers and citrus mussels with the curry sauce to die for! We kept slurping up the sauce after the bread was gone! The garlic mayo complemented the shrimp perfectly. We also ordered the forager pizza. With the crispy crust, sweet fennel sausage and the mushrooms - I am in pizza heaven! Hubby ordered a few summer beer and I had the pineapple cider. Both were light and refreshing. Our server provided great recommendations and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. Overall verdict - highly recommend it for causal dining, happy hour or a special meal. Way to support local farms and businesses. Love the outdoor seating which is great in the summer!

I hate posting a negative reviews of a small local business, but we were disappointed. No we aren't looking for discounts free food etc or anything. In fact I hope it was just a bad day for them. We ordered: General Tsos chicken Orange chicken Pot stickers and spring rolls. 45$ is pricey for 2 mains and 2 apps but my husband figured they might be good. Sometimes the food is worth the $. The General Tsos chicken had no flavour really beyond over cooked soy. No spice either. The orange chicken tasted borderline exactly like the General Tsos chicken. Lots of soy. The barest hint of orange and no spice. My spring rolls had an overpowering cooking oil flavour and the pot stickers had no water chestnuts, no ginger, no scallions or garlic. Just ground meat. I am giving the restaurant a maybe on reccomendations because perhaps the chef was off...maybe it was just a bad day. I hope they continue serving their loyal clients but sadly we will take a pass on ordering from here again. It's just too expensive to test drive a 2nd time for us.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE -- DO NOT GO TO WAUSAU MINE…read more We were visiting Wausau for the weekend and decided to check out Wausau Mine because it looked like a fun place on the website. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. We were a group of 16 people, including 9 kids. Around 1:30 that afternoon, we called to see if they took reservations. The woman we spoke with was great and told us they could accommodate us. Awesome! A few hours later, someone from the restaurant actually called US and asked if we wanted their private room upstairs because they were getting several other smaller-party reservations. With 9 kids in our group, we were thrilled and obviously said YES. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately -- but not in the private room. My sister-in-law and I went back to the staff member who seated us and explained that someone from the restaurant had specifically called us about the private room and that we had accepted it. Their response? There was another party upstairs and they didn't want to "ruffle any feathers." Ummm... what about OUR feathers? We didn't ask for this room. Your restaurant called us and offered it to us. We simply accepted what you offered. Mistakes happen. We understand that. So we asked for a manager. The first manager came over, and honestly, she was great. We explained what happened, and she said she would get her boss. Enter Cindy. We explained the entire situation AGAIN. Instead of an apology or even acknowledging that this was frustrating, Cindy asked if we had filled out the online form. We explained AGAIN that we didn't request the private room through an online form. Someone from the restaurant called US and offered it to us. After going back and forth, Cindy threw her hands up and walked away saying: "I don't know what you want me to do about this." Well, Cindy... honestly? AN APOLOGY. That's it. We weren't demanding free food. We weren't demanding money. We weren't screaming. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. We wanted someone to acknowledge that the restaurant had called us, offered us the room, we accepted it, and then the restaurant failed to honor what it had promised. Apparently, that was too much to ask. So we asked the first manager if there was another manager on duty. She offered to get the GM, Dan. Dan eventually came over -- after we had already eaten and paid our bill, definitely a coincidence because I noticed him peeking over at us multiple times. We explained everything AGAIN, including how Cindy had treated us and that we were simply looking for an apology. His response? "I'll talk to her." That's it. Someone in our group actually had to ask: "So you can't even apologize to us?" Only THEN did Dan apologize. At that point, we were completely over it and walked out. Unfortunately, the food didn't exactly redeem the experience. It was mediocre at best, and several people in our group couldn't even eat their meals. To be fair, our server was amazing, and the first manager we spoke with was also great. Unfortunately, their good customer service was completely overshadowed by the way Cindy and Dan handled the situation. Here's the thing: Mistakes happen. We get it. But when a restaurant makes a mistake, the appropriate response is: "We're so sorry. We made a mistake. Let's see what we can do." Because here's a wild concept: Sometimes customers just want an apology. We came in with 16 people ready to spend our money and enjoy our evening. Instead, we left frustrated and incredibly disappointed. 0/10 customer service. 0/10 management. Mediocre food. Would not recommend. And we will absolutely NOT be returning. If you're considering Wausau Mine, save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere that actually values its customers. And Cindy... if a customer is asking you for an apology, the answer really shouldn't be that difficult.
