He took the time to connect, made thoughtful recommendations, and delivered everything with precision and kindness. You can tell when someone truly takes pride in what they do, and Wolf absolutely does. It's been years since I've encountered customer service like this. Slowest service of any coffee shop I've ever been to. The guy taking orders was chitchatting with the customer in front of me. People ordering after me got their lattes before I got my DRIP cup. We stopped here on our way home after an extremely long week of work (we probably walked in looking like someone spit in our Cheerios type of week) and were pleasantly surprised by the incredibly friendly Mr. Wolf. Yes, that's what the name tag said. We've never had Peet's Coffee and I decided I wanted to try something absolutely new to me, the vanilla latte with coffee boba and it's sooooo good! I love the taste of coffee but always need some sweetness in it. This is heavyy on the coffee and easy on the sweetness. My boyfriend is a STRICT black coffee and espresso shot drinker. Let's call him a bougie black coffee drinker.. Starbucks doesn't cut it for him. He went with a black coffee and even he is enjoying his beverage. A solid Peet's Coffee store located in the heavily trafficked Northgate mall. While the idea of a dying mall culture in America rings true when walking the mostly empty halls of Northgate, there is always a decent amount of traffic in the parking lot. If anything is contributing to any of the foot traffic, it is probably their fast casual dining options especially since they are all clumped together. One of these options is the solid Peet's Coffee, a North Bay standard for fast affordable coffee. Although I am not a coffee connoisseur, I do appreciate a cup of joe from time to time. With that in mind, this Peet's is completely passable. Welcoming but not too many seats available. Good quality but nothing to rave about. Although not the quickest turnaround time, they do now have a mobile order option which is great if you plan ahead and want to just get something to go. It is what it is. The coffee is good, but the service is hit or miss. They have gotten my order wrong as many times as they have gotten it correctly. For some reason they put the food on the counter near the toaster oven and the coffee is picked up at the bar all the way across the room. Because of this setup, multiple people have grabbed my food and left. The staff gets super confused each time and cannot seem to just get me a new item without getting frazzled. So, I have stopped ordering warm food here. The parking is fine. This Peet's is at Northgate, next to Chipotle. The staff is pretty friendly but hasn't really made an effort to get to know me or my order. The people-watching here is pretty good, but there are rarely tables available. read more

I came to Peet's after a long drive, and so I had to use the bathroom. I know Peet's is trying to be "PC" but this is SHOCKING! They actually had a sign outside both of their bathrooms that said "All-Gender Restroom" as if to imply how proud they are that they let Men & Women from different races use the same bathroom! This is 2019 California.......OF COURSE WE LET MEN AND WOMEN FROM DIFFERENT RACES USE THE BATHROOM! There would be something very backwards if we didn't! All this does is remind people that there are different races, and there was once discrimination. My girlfriend and I went for a little stroll to the local Peet's since the weather was amazing and we needed to get out of the house in the fairly late morning. It's nice having the mall nearby so we can walk or jog over whenever we feel like it. I ordered the refreshing peppermint mocha frappe which I was promised would taste like a frozen thin mint. Tipping the scales at about $5, it was no cheap treat to be sure. It sort of reminded me of said thin mint but not quite, and could have used quite a bit more mintyness for my taste. The service was really good however, and the dog-friendly outdoor seating really made the experience. It's in the nice, newer side of the mall so there's plenty of parking to be had. Now I remember why I never come here anymore. Such a bad location. Some of the workers here are not the brightest, very slow, not paying attention to the customer. The ambiance is like a hole in the wall room, fitting for a dead mall. Drinks aren't made well, for example I got like two pieces of ice in my cold brew, it was lukewarm by the time I left the door. Also some of the clientele that frequent this location in particular are not anyone you want to be around. I am not a huge coffee drinker but when my work and personal meetings are mutually agreed upon at a coffee house of sorts, I am usually one confused customer. I came here only knowing I liked Espresso and nothing too sweet. The guy behind the counter was very kind and helpful in suggesting maybe an Americano or Latte with some sweetener. I ended up getting an iced small latte with a small pump of vanilla, and it was delicious! Exactly what I was trying to order without knowing how to order it. Haha! My only reason for taking 1 star away is just the 2 guys that were there around 4:45pm, I wanted to make sure that whatever I had ordered had 2 shots of espresso and I was more than willing to pay for that. I suppose there was a misunderstanding between an Americano and a Latte and 1 shot vs 2, and they were politely bickering that each of them was correct in knowing which had which count. I wasn't bothered by it but being in San Rafael and also working myself in Marin, I can imagine that sort of bickering may rub the wrong Marinite the wrong way. I loved my drink, I even tipped a $1.50 on a $4 drink because I was very comforted and happy I was guided to a delicious choice (that I will remember from now on), but just wanted to make sure that they don't get in trouble by a patron who may over exaggerate the story if it happens next time. Low quality- the foam is almost always crappy, often the milk is way too hot,. The staff are harried yet slow, and seem to be either "too cool" Or "too busy" to deal with customers. Annoying to pay a lot for a latte and have it be crappy :/ I know better, but found myself here again today trying again. 5 stars for Richie, Brandon, Aaron and Lena. You guys rock. Richie is probably one of the best baristas I have come across. He made me a caramel macchiato the other day that was just killer. His latte art is great, too. They whip through the line quickly and keep the store clean and tidy. I come here every time I come to Northgate to up my caffeine a little before braving the stores (and trying not to spend everything in my wallet). We were kicked out from our table by the window that we had been sitting at for awhile. We were told it had been reserved by a book club. We were having a business meeting over coffee when we were told by the server we had to move to a less than ideal spot with all our belongings and papers. The book club people were patronizing and condescending not making things any better. There was another patron that had to move as well who appeared as flustered as we were. Seems to me the tables are first come first serve. Seems to me those people should've come earlier to stake out the area to "reserve" it for themselves. If it was reserved for a certain period, why was there no sign? In the end the spot where our table and chairs were was completely empty since the club had moved those to corner. Why didn't the server just move another table and two chairs into the corner for the club? There was plenty of room. Perhaps in the future I too will make reservations to occupy a section of the store where anyone sitting there will just have to move by right of my reservation. Doubt that will fly. I love Pete's coffee because it's a little more "local" I mean it's still all over the world but not as much. the vibe is nice with a dark wood building design that's very slick and modern yet homey. I ordered a matcha green tea. Tastes great and the whipped cream adds extra touch to a already great drink. other family members tried to the coffee and said they liked it. the time for waiting is 1-10 minutes and is extremely quick. Online order is just as fast and easy to do. they offer caffeine free teas for kids or adults. Would definitely recommend. the only thing I wish they had was a peach green tea. I work really close to here so I go in to get coffee from here sometimes. Good coffee but very strong,; if you like mild roasts, I would stay away. This is my favorite café for a variety of reasons. All the staff are super friendly, the music is pleasantly light classical and at just the right audio level to increase focus while I work on my laptop. (I find Starbucks music generally to be too loud and distracting.) Their seating is comfortable and they let me work on my laptop as long as I like. Oh, and they offer drinks in nice large ceramic mugs if you tell them "it's for here" rather than to go. It just feels better to drink my latté in a mug, rather than a paper cup. As a regular, I've enjoyed the little extra perks of an occasional discount or freebie. And today, after I paused to talk to other regulars outside, when I came in barista Brage had my standard drink (large latté with whole milk in a ceramic mug) waiting for me when I came up to order. I mean, it's good coffee and tea but it can take so long. I understand that sometimes there is a lot of people but 10+ minutes for a no frills iced tea, an iced coffee and two scones crosses the line. The reason I think this is happening is because they really push mobile orders. Sometimes you order your coffee and then in a few minutes it is done but other times you see two new mobile orders per minute. I think this is more of an issue with upper management relying too heavily on mobile orders and less about the employees here. But, some of the baristas do look like they could be helping more. read more
