Highly recommend the iced mint mojito if you're not a hardcore coffee drinker like me. Was so happy with the service and customization at Philz. Went during my pregnancy and was looking for a low sugar and decaf option - the baristas were so great about making the mint mojito with decaf coffee, less sugar, and soy milk. I have worked as a barista and the service I received paired with the perfect cup of coffee has made me a believer. The barista, Julie was awesome and took the time to explain how Philz Coffee works. I'm in love with philz so I was incredibly excited when I found out it was opening in Glendale. I came here on a Sunday morning and the wait wasn't too bad, about 10 minutes total. There were a good amount of seats which were still open (one large communal table inside and ~4 small tables, and lots of outdoor seating too). There's free wifi too. It's a good study spot and you can park at Glendale galleria for free if you're planning to stay for a longer time. I got mint mojito which was great as usual, and also the almond crossaint. I've tried the almond crossaint once in DTLA and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, but the one I got here was very disappointing. It was rock hard and tasted like it was either overcooked or had been sitting out for a few days.... the cashier also didn't ask if I wanted to heat it up - I didn't ask because she had a bit of an attitude and also did not look friendly at all. Very attentive and friendly services, the baristas always make conversations with customers and make coffee base on their preferences. I'm not a big fan of mint flavor drinks/ desserts, but the signature drink here- mint mojito iced coffee never fails my expectation. The mint flavor is light and very refreshing, surprisingly goes well with the coffee and cream. It's a must try at Philz! The down side would be the wait time. Order first, it may take about 15 mins for your drink to be ready (not a place for coffee if you are in hurry). Take a sip, make sure you like it, then pay for the drink. read more

I've been dying to try Philz Coffee for some time now because I'm in the Americana pretty often but usually end up at the coffee bean. Now that the coffee bean is temporarily closed for renovations I had no choice but try this place out! I'm so glad I did! I walked up to the counter with my friend and let the barista know it was our first time here, she was soooooo helpful! She explained how their coffee making process works. You basically choose the base coffee then choose the milk type and sweetness level. The different coffee flavors come straight from the different type of coffee beans which are infused with those particular flavors. I had to go with the mint mojito because that's the most popular and it just sounded so intriguing. OMGGGG I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN HOW AMAZING IT WAS. I could not imaging mint and coffee together but these people make it work! I had mine with soy milk and medium sweet which I felt was perfect but they recommend you have it super creamy and very sweet. I'll get it that way next time. My friend had the Tesoro with 2% milk and medium sweet. I quote "best cup of coffee I've had in a long time" and "you can tell someone made this with love" so it's safe to say she loved it! She was skeptical about this place thinking it was just another overhyped hipster coffee shop. However, the baristas and the drinks are incredible! It's also really nice of them to let people eat outside food while enjoying a coffee and doing some work in there. I will definitely be back with more friends next time! read more

I first heard of Philz coffee from my sister who said that their iced mint mojito was life. When we saw it was finally open here in Glendale we decided to opt out of Starbucks that day so I could finally see how amazing Philz was. I gotta say their ordering process is amazing! However, after we got our drinks and left we took a sip and both of us were disgusted. Neither of us could take another sip and we tossed both in the trash. My sister felt bad because she insisted that the other locations make it amazing!! HOWEVER, I'm happy to say I've been back after much persuasion from friends and the baristas have made it great three times now. I recommend the regular iced coffee with their cream and sugar if you're not into mint leaves shoved into your drink (which I'm not). CONS: I do not like the fact that they don't have a different serving cup for iced drinks. I can understand that the regular cups don't cause that wet condensation, BUT I always get it to-go and would appreciate a clear flat top LID at the very least so I can put a straw through and sip it in my car. Overall great experience from the line, to the ordering, to the payment process. read more

Was visiting from out of state where there's no Philz. My friend brought me here knowing that I love coffee. Ordered a New Manhattan which was good but not my favorite. Reading through the reviews, I decide to give the place another shot and ordered the Mint Mojito. Holy moly, it's delicious! Ended up having Philz everyday for the rest of my California trip. Favorite cold drink is still the Mint Mojito. Favorite hot is the Philharmonic. A close runner up is the Philtered Soul. Haven't had Philz in months and we were nearby and walked up to order. The woman politely told us we needed to order from the app. I'm a rule follower and deeply respect every COVID preventative measure ... but I really hated this. It would take twenty seconds to order from them and pay with a card. Instead it took about ten minutes to set up and giving my personal information over the app (I've been a lot more conscious after watching the Social Dilemma lol). Then it took another 15 minutes for the drinks. While in line we noticed so many people walked up to order and then decided to go somewhere else because of the app ordering. The drinks were good, employees were nice as always. But I would appreciate another option to order - not just for myself but others who may not be tech savvy. My parents love Philz but wouldn't be able to order through the app. Love Philz and will probably return post Covid - whenever that is. read more

Tasty mint mojito. I enjoy the flavor of their coffees. Overall everybody is super chill and the coffee is made with excellent care. I recommend it. My only deduction comes from the slow and lethargic service over the past 3 visits. On average it's a 10-15 min visit. It was noticeable cause the latest was at 6:30 am with very little line. You gotta move people along and you can't start preparing 8-9 min after taking the order. read more
